To be honest the alternative end IF HAPPENED THAT NOBUNAGA DIDN'T DIE IS quite closer in real history.

His tendency of unifying Japan, invade and conquer Joseon and Ming (which is Hideyoshi tried) to expand his influence and capture the food, tech and product that doesn't available in Japan is basically his calling as an saviour on his people as it was divided for hundreds of years to modernize as he acknowledge it as 'small' nation - it really need any means to survived from westerners and civil wars through political will (like banning Christianity and limiting the foreign contact - which Tokugawa eventually did.) and technology.

I actually wish Ken went back and saw THE ALTERNATIVE HISTORY HE PUSHES. Then he meet Modern Natsu, that would be at least an predictable Angel Beats type of ending but for sure I'll like it.
