| Scariest craziest evil lady so far and that's saying a lot for this series filled with twisted women! Reread ch. 23. In retrospect, the hints were there in Mao Mao's observations of Loulan. The anime should've clued me in more showing Shi Sui and Loulan have the same hair and eye color. So now we understand that when she catches Mao Mao staring at her and she reacts by turning her nose up, it's not because she's snooty it's because she's hoping she didn't get found out. But I was ready to dismiss Loulan as the 4th Courtesan brought to fill out the numbers given her aloof nature and more development would go towards Lady Gyokuyo. Who knew she'd be central to the foreign envoys in cahoots with Jinshi's assassins, Sui Rei and her quest for the immortality elixir, and who knows how many other conspiracies? Shi Sui manages to save Mao Mao from 100 lashings (I'm scared she wouldn't be able to endure the blood loss if that happened). I hope that brat's okay too. After ten terrifying pages of newest crazy scary mom we get a high number of chibi/gag faces including a Mao Mao "No Thoughts Head Empty" face. When it comes to Jinshi and his complicated backstory - same girl, same. lol |

| ABOUT CHAPTER 78 - PART 1 : page 7 : actually , in this room , there are several guards / soldiers with swords , but the artist doesnt even bother to draw their faces , lol . page 15 : - mao mao : screw jin shi and his secrets , i have more important things to do right now , like playing with these drugs and herbs . in this chapter , we have a cat ( mao mao ) , a brat ( kyouu ) , and a rat / a piece of sc@t ( shen mei ) , lol , pun . another hint that shi sui is actually rou ran : in a previous chapter , shi sui avoided the mother of the current emperor , because the mother knew the face of rou ran . previously , mao mao could not realize that shi sui was actually rou ran . i guess the reason is : mao mao can only remember drugs and herbs , and she is not good with remember the faces of peoples . shen mei wants the elixir of immortal . well , in the future , she will really need it , because she dares to start a rebel against the current emperor , and she dares to threaten mao mao , the main character of this manga . shen mei 's life looks very dark in the future . i hope the elixir will save her life , lol . her name , shen mei = 神 美 = god - beauty . she is a daughter of the previous leader of the shi clan , but for some reason , her name is "shen mei" , not "shi mei" . now she is the real leader of the shi clan . her husband , shi shou , is just a puppet leader . she can do whatever she wants , like treating sui rei and rou ran like trash . |

| in the previous chapter , it is revealed that the brat kyouu is a son of shi ROU . and rou ran is a daughter of shi SHOU and shen mei . i dont know the real relationships between shi ROU and shi SHOU + shen mei , maybe they are brother and sister , or cousins , or distant relatives . so kyouu and rou ran are not actually real brother and sister , maybe they are cousins . |

| ABOUT CHAPTER 78 - PART 2 : 1st pages : mao mao is so lucky , now she has her own big private room , and the room has a mountain of p0rn books , and cannabis / herbs / weeds / leafs , for her , lol . page 6 : - ra kan : yo , my adopted son / my nephew , you can NOT just storm into a nobleman 's office . - ra han : but you just did the same thing , my adopted father / my uncle . - ra kan : jin shi is a not-straight , not-hetero eunuch , i dont want peoples saying : "your adopted son is not-straight , he has weird tastes ." - ra han : then what about your tastes , my adopted father ? what are the conditions of your current wife / my new hot pretty adopted mother ? page 16 : what a rare sight : a future father-in-law is kneeling in front of a future son-in-law . in the modern world , normally , it is the opposite : "please , father-in-law , allow me to marry your daughter ." last pages : - emperor / goblin-slayer : kill all the members of the shi clan / of the goblins , "and not just the men, but the women , and the children, too" . i dont want to left a single seed of revenge against me and my royal family . page 8 : i dont know what exactly happens here , but my guesses are : - ra han is whispering : i will go and get ruo men , the uncle of my adopted father . then a few minutes later , in page 13 , ra han already returns , and he is very sweaty . note this : jin shi 's office is in the outer palace , and ruo men is in a medical room in the inner palace . i guess ra han runs to the front gate of the inner palace , then he asks an eunuch to go inside and get ruo men . then ra han and 3 random servants ( in panel 3 of page 13 ) use the palanquin to bring ruo men to jin shi 's office . and ra han do all the above things in just a few minutes , he must have the speed of light , lol . |

| Well, I'll be really glad to see this army wipe the smile off that deranged mother's face, but yeah we know the stuff in war just doesn't end there. If anything, it'll only get worse from here on for the Shi clan. Lakan went steroids on Jinshi btw, which I think was needed. |
