| For seeing something you like in youtube you need to search it up, watch few videos and it should show up. Also YT shorts are the worst content among those types, IG reels are better but there's a chance of receiving a short reel which shoul be categorised as hard content [suicides, car accidents etc.] and Tik Tok which is better than YT shorts and ain't having the same risk like IG but it is way easier on TT to suddenly get into a rabbit hole of any topic. Which is why when my youtube feeds forget [for ex. whenever I search for music like recently with Chinese songs, my youtube will begin giving me Chinese videos so I often calibrate my feed or just ignore that] I just search up again the scientific channels from which I like some videos, aswell as other stuff which are just simply entertainment. |

| All of us children of the internet wasted way too much time on nonsense (and probably continue to), but YouTube really has gotten worse over the years for the most part. I recently installed an extension to disable autoplay, video suggestions, ect. since it was too much clutter and kept me watching stuff I really didn't care about (https://unhook.app/). Sure, it can be fun to explore the depths of the internet, but I want to do it intentionally on my time, not because I just wanted to listen to a song and now I'm mindlessly clicking on things instead of getting back to what I really need to do. I can't even have a YouTube shorts feed because "Your watch history is off, and we rely on watch history to tailor your Shorts feed. You can change your setting at any time, or try searching for Shorts instead." |

| Youtube started going downhill when Google+ became a thing and they started letting everybody post videos longer than 10 minutes. Adpocalypse and YT shorts were the final nails in the coffin. |

| Youtube is not in the golden age of filthyfrank and avgn anymore. Quality is not as incentivized compared to quantity. Reactors are the standard now. Some good stuff still exists though. |

| Youtube is only somewhat bearable if you have at least 3 extensions installed for it (adblock, sponsor block, and unhook). That being said there has been a drop in the quality of the content since 2016 since it's full of slop by AI, reaction grifters, and unnecessarily long videos (the longer it is = the more money from ads you get). |
