Okay so this still is sort of a debate thing in the anime community, let me break it down for you:

Objectively speaking, if you know the definition of animation then you'll notice how that's literally the one thing lacking in this second season (and in some eps of the first one). When you think of animation, you think of something fluid, something that moves, contrary to just static panels like Manga.

Blue Lock anime adaptation by 8bit offers minimal animation, some good voice acting and 90% colored and edited panels, so when you say "Blue Lock animation is horrible", well it certainly is beacuse there is barely any, and that small amount is bad or mediocre at best, not like little mind blowing clips like some anime have (for example the detective is already dead).

I also wish they spent less time making the characters hotter and instead work on more fluid animation. The amount of details in chigiri's hair or their eyes isn't really that necessary. Even captain tsubasa and ao ashi have more football like animation

the effects and all that other post processing looks good. but when it comes to the 2d animation itself, there barely is any of it.

I'm not asking for supeeeer dynamic cuts or anything, i'd just like to see the caracters move a bit more.
fortunately the plot & quality are pretty good so i can still enjoy the series.

Started reading manga this year and blue lock season 2 was the first instance of me reading the manga and then being hyped for the adaptation. sad to say disappointed. if I wanted shitty animation I would watch some random hentai and would probably have a better experience in the animation department
