Lol" that was my reaction to the reaction of people reacting to the dogs kobo and kadokawa news ,Wow what a sentence. Guys...... im about to give you an aneurysm, check this out roshidere is kadakowa IP ( and them also heavily investing in Oshi no ko as production committee) WAIT, DONT CRY YET THERES MORE, They have been collabing with dogo koba for a decade.... you know Gabriel drop out, new game and, wanten an angel flew down to me...... Guess who was there KADOKAWA. Oh yeah, and before you pass away, they also own the studio that animated made in abyss, soooooo....... Anyway, what is the reactionary comments for again?

Why is this news surprising, oh yeah it's because research for your average anime consumer is basically equivalent to building a 3 bedroom house with your mates with only a hammer on deck. Pls guys, do more research and have more nuanced takes instead of " KADOKAWA BAD" or "Rip Dogo kobo" and many more, it's pretty cringe basically fear mongering at this point. This news is the equivalent to Twin engine buying Wit or egg firm (if they havent already) buying Studio bind, once again not surprising. But the reactions when that comes into fruition will be fear mongering nonsense and a bunch of "Rip WIT" statements.

Why all the caps lock?
Seems like you are yelling at someone...

Anyways, I always found funny how Oshi no Ko is produced by Kadokawa despite the manga being published by Shueisha.
And it's not every day you see a high quality production like that from them...

@MadanielFL Aniplex, toho and kadokawa basically are doing the same thing. And thats probably what other companys are gonna do if they buy studios in the future. Kadokawa have been doing this for a while

@Piromysl I can't translate but the thing is since kadokawa has now dogo kobo it will be a disaster. Some disastrous events are horrible work hour, too much work basically jjk mappa employers rush deadlines and because of that the animation quality will be worse.

@3inPunisher they might have collabed together but now Kadokawa has more rights with the deadlines. It's a waste of time to show how many others they haven't

I just wish that instead of buying Dogo Kobo, Kadokawa would focus on what really matters: No Game No Life season 2.

My opinion of Kadokawa as a whole is already beneath the gutter level ever since they, without any evidence of just cause or a hint of hesitation or compunction, eviscerated the heart and soul of Kemono Friends and butchered that franchise and its prospects as an anime series into a mangled and distorted husk. All for what, from the outside at least, only looks like pure unbridled greed and a power trip.

And the fact that they're sitting on Haruhi IP indefinitely, preventing its return as an anime and keeping it artificially in limbo. They have done some ugly, ugly things.

But as always when discussing any company, any government, any other form of organization, or even any individual, the story is more complicated and nuanced. Especially as such a giant in the industry, I'm sure they have done good as well as bad things.

I don't expect noteworthy problems, Kadokawa is a good producer and Doga Kobo will hopefully continue to be a good studio with its new owner.

One quick google search will tell you how kinema citrus is shared between kadokawa AND bushiroad. In doga kobo's case, they are now a studio directly under kadokawa, who used to say they aim to make at least 40 anime A YEAR (this is a case no more but they are still a gigantic red flag). Engi studio being a complete shitshow of a studio doesn't help their case at all. Obviously no one can tell what will happen in the future but people have all the evidence they need to be concerned.

KADOKAWA Aims for 40 New Anime Productions a Year Going Forward https://www.crunchyroll.com/news/latest/2021/5/3/kadokawa-aims-for-40-new-anime-productions-a-year-going-forward

ye kadokawa needs to buy more studios with that plan or they gonna overwork the studios they already bought

"RIP the anime industry" is generally more apt. Good anime has been the exception for quite a while, and I'm fine with that because I couldn't handle 40 good anime a season. I'm not saying we're going to lose those exceptions, or that it's going to improve. Rather, the anime industry is already a conveyor belt that sucks talented people dry and casts them aside, and this on top of the fiduciary duty becoming part of the corporate religion in Japan means the anime industry is no longer what it once was.

Just look at Yuru Camp. Replaced the entire staff that made it great, turning a 10/10 to a 7/10. There could be many reasons or this, but all of them if replicated suggest the anime medium is on the decline.
