| Love the song but damn, it felt like they barely put in the effort for this music video. Lots of static poses from Uta (where maybe she blinks) littered throughout, and not even that many poses to cycle through either. Barely any animation and what there is doesn't isn't very smooth, repeated cuts like the "Do you wanna play" of the pre-chorus, and almost no attempt to sync the video up with the song itself. There's a few attempts, but the only time I think the music video was good was at about 1:50 during the end of the first real chorus, where the lip syncing is on-point and it's followed up by her dancing with the backgrounds changing at the same point in the dance and on-beat. If the whole video was like that I'd probably give this a pretty solid score, but as it is I'm giving it a 4/10. |

Generic sounding song, choppy dancing animation, and the same 6 or 7 images floating across the screen over and over...
Seems that people are voting out of loyalty to One Piece rather than if the song or video are actually any good, as I can't in any way call this good. The song isn't terrible but the video it's self is lazy and sloppily put together.

I was sick of videos like this with 3fps animation and floating images due to watching too many of them for a challenge I'm doing and that may have colored my opinion of the song it's self, though it's still not a genre that I care for. |

| @Kristiwazhere I'm also doing a challenge, (I assume we're doing the same, top 100 music and maybe music per day too?) and I have to agree, it's a bit of a slog through the videos with cheap and shitty animation (or still frames pretending to be animation). AND I don't think you are overly harsh on this one either. It's slow and jerky. That can be done well as a style, but this is just not it. I suspect a lot of these have been rated so high because of the series, the band, or just based off the song. And since music is a generally unpopular type they don't seem to balance out very well. (though I do like Ado's music in general as I hear more of it...) Genre as is music genre or the anime 'type'? because if the latter I agree, not my first pick either lol |

| @Kristiwazhere ahh, fair enough. I don't mind the operatic kind of pop (like Kate Miller-Heidke for example) but it should be good production values too. Though it's true I'm not old enough to recall such a wave of it well (I was 6 in 2000...) and it probably didn't really permeate in Australia anyway. If everyone had the exact same taste in music, it'd end up kind of boring! So good! |
