| The pacing of this manga was fast from the start but this is for sure end arc vibes. Top echelon of the samurais have been introduced, with hints that a final battle is drawing near. If this manga had taken its time on the build up I probably would have cared more. This chapter was pretty good though. |

| Seems like they key figure has a cool design, worth to read and see him. Well, defeating him means losing Kusanagi so intersting to know what he is going to do. |

| And so Doron Dororon is entering it's endgame, presumably anyway. It' be really weird if they introduced the reason behind the Mononoke's appearance as well as a way to save the world from the threat of Mononoke so suddenly if it wasn't on the chopping block. Since I've started reading Jump, this is the impending cancellation that upsets me the most I think (maybe Neru). I'm not necessarily surprised it's heading to it's conclusion, it's the definition of generic shonen. And it does suffer for that, I think most of the action segments here are pretty bland and boring. But on the other hand, I think there's a lot of charm to the character interactions, and there's a comfort in the familiarity. The dilemma of having to sacrifice Kusanagi to save the rest of the world from the bad Mononoke is a great one to wrap the series on, if nothing else. Looking forward to see how it ends, as I do love endings. |
