What do you think the opening would look like?

Basically, that the title says. What are your opening animation predictionts? Will it be typical shonen op showing main characters fighting ot will MAPPA do something unique?

And what personally you want to see in it?

I want it to be like Kokkokus opening. Weird af. That's the only way to make the anime more immersive.

This is EXACTLY what its gonna be.

Plus characters punching and kicking thin air, bc no shounen opening is complete without it.

In my opinion similar to Attack on Titans 7th opening “The Rumbling” not just the music but also the animation, and they’re both done by Mappa so it’s not to far fetched in my opinion.

I think will be like a darker and mysterious JJK op1. Not revealing too much, some cool shots with main characters, some gojo type of shots for makima, some action scenes in the final part. The music will probably be some j rock that will slap hard. I believe the producers will do a great job.

Yeah, that opening is on fire. But I don't think they would do the copy of it for Chainsawman. It has such unique aesthetic

There are many talented freelance directors/animator’s who can do amazing opening for chainsawman with their own unique and originality way of thinking, there will be foreshadowing of many things in opening which can’t be easily predicted by anime only viewers.
The director of chainsawman Ryu Nakayama is closely acquainted with Shingo Yamashita ( who did jjk and Ousama ranking opening songs) there is a high chance of him doing the opening. Shingo Yamashita brings his own perception of the story to the screen and he is known for easily adapting the story theme and presenting the story itself in the opening but in a subtle way .

Obviously there will be a fight clip which will barely appear for a few seconds showing the powers of certain characters in a nuanced way but without fighting scene the opening will look hollow .

The one thing I can say Mappa never misses in their opening song and chainsawman will be something special with some new style viewing how many exceptional talented animator’s are working in it

catchy rock song with bad ass visuals lots of blood and perhaps a drop of fanservice. im just really excited about what it will turn out to be. If its s good anime but a bad op then that will be a let down

MAPPA will either go the Dorohedoro/ Idaten Deities route where the visuals are chaotic and trippy, or they will go the Jujutsu Kaisen/ Attatck on Titan/ Dororo route where visuals are more cinematic and dramatic with action and fight scenes.

But it's different people working on it tho. The director of csm isn't even a Mappa employee iirc, he's just a freelancer. Plus "The Rumbling" was directed, story boarded and key animated by one person (I think his name is Takashi Kojima). I doubt he'll do the op for csm. Also director of csm directed the mv for one of Eve's songs.

I don't know what it will be but i want it to be like kakegurui opening. Ofcourse with the theme and song chnaged but i want visuals like that one, weird and addicting, and the song to be slapping.

Hoping Shingo Yamashita does both OP's again, just as he did with Jujutsu Kaisen. His Ousama Ranking OP was also god-tier. He's a perfect fit and there really is no reason not to pick him. We don't need an abstract or artsy OP, we need a stylish and modern OP filled with high-quality visuals and action sakuga animation. They have to make use of all the individual animator talent that they gathered.

If I had to make a wild guess, I'd say the opening might look relatively chaotic, visually stunning, and unique. As far as music goes, the song itself might be something that would make the average grandmother raise her eyebrows and go “oh my..” or “oh dear..”
