| Feel like this manga leans very heavily into shoujo vibes, going all out for these emotional responses. I'm just not buying these justifications, and it gets harder to buy in when every thing is painted with the same sentimental brush stroke. |

| Subaru is already confessing and it turns out it's no biggy at all for Kaoruko. This manga really has a bit of a problem with letting tension develop, we could have gotten a much better payoff if we bottled that up a bit and let it brew. |

| The chapter was titled *Self-Contempt*, and we truly saw Subaru drowning in it—blaming herself for interfering in Waguri's life without permission. Maybe her intentions were good, but she couldn’t forgive herself, and that’s where the pain in her heart was born. She really loves Waguri, just as Oguri loves her! But let’s take a moment to praise the artwork—oh my god, it was stunning! It expressed the theme of self-loathing so beautifully. The chapter was packed with incredible visuals. And I don’t mean “incredible” just because Subaru looked pitiful—the art was genuinely expressive and moving. And honestly, Subaru is lucky to have Wagurias a friend—probably the most positive person in the world! I wished we’d seen Subaru’s strong side first. I didn’t want to witness her as someone with shaken confidence… but I’m hoping we’ll see a stronger version of her in the future. Now, let’s move on to the next chapter! |
