Seeing the ratings, not everyone seems to like it but i still want to have a percentage.
Anime is love. Anime is life.

If the music wasn't good, I wouldn't have held on so long. But I like the series well enough.

My number one wish is for them to stop using 3D models for the band performances. I wish OZ's debut of Zankoku Shangri-La had been animated to look more like the OP.
Forever a reader, rarely a watcher. Also listens to music.

⸢There are three ways to survive in a ruined world.⸥
⸢I’ve forgotten a few by now. However, one thing’s for certain.⸥
⸢And that is, the you reading these words will get to survive.⸥
⸢This story is for just that one reader.⸥

Relatively so. It's a little annoying how most of the time it's the same 2/3 songs on repeat for the performance sequences, but they slip in a good few new ones now and then too.
Well I for one already loved Lain.

This series is like a new experience to for most people I bet, but to me I leanred about the idea of gothic and its genre, I personally like the songs so far, the animation was great and 3d cgi can sometimes be used in a weird angle but doesn't that apply to some idol animes too? So can't really blame this 3d cgi lol and I didn't really focus on the plot because really music is just MUSIC, also the cast did a great job singing with all their guts, their voices are somewhat beautiful.

I think it is a little silly, especially seeing the CG musicians make me cringe because I am a musician myself and seeing animated characters not even playing parts correctly are just cringey (I know budget can be an issue but still). Tbh the only reason I still watch is because visual kei is one of my favorite genres of music and the music slaps, just need a full version of the intro and I'll be set

I think you may be forgetting that any anime with even the slightest hint of homoeroticism gets angry weebs out the word work whining very angrily and they tend to rate things purely on their emotional response to it, even if they didn’t watch it.
Why is it so hard to find tea ware?

Exactly, at the end of the day you like it, clearly other people like this show both domestically in Japan and with international audiences. Fairy Ranmaru is a more recent example of a down-vote bombed queer implying show that is actually well like with its domestic audience (they had a live concert recently and one of the VAs told one of the lead animators (?) that he wants to pole dance at their next performance).

I think MAL needs a club for "animes downvoted cuz of homophobia" with a list.

I'm a person who just saw the PV and a key visual and said "sure, why not" and while it took some episodes i can say for sure i'm enjoying it. Sure, it has its flaws, but it has great things too, like amazing character design and music. And while not the best narrative-wise I'm really liking the direction these last episodes are taking it to. While not part of the intended audience i can say for sure the staff knows who they're making the show for and i love it. Hopefully it ends on a high note.

I'm only seeing this because has visual kei aestethic and obviously for the music that is the strong of this anime. Guilty Cross is perfect (like a real vkei song) and zankoku no shangrila is the best opening for this season.

About the story, is better than I expect when I saw the first 3 episode but isn't a masterpiece of seinen or something like that. Is just OK.

As a female anime fan, anime squarely aimed at women has always been an easy punching-bag for insecure people unless it's like aggressively safe and heteronormative like Fruits Basket. The same goes for most non-anime things aimed at teenage girls, too. Media and interests that are shamelessly feminine are seen as inherently worth less than anything catering to mens' tastes. This is further proven by how girls can usually enjoy media aimed at boys with no issues while boys are often made fun of for enjoying media aimed at girls. I bet if all the leads were women and the fanservice targetted straight men a lot of people who rated it low would probably be singing a completely different tune even if nothing about the show's quality changed

This exactly, I see this all the time with anime aimed at the female audience, as a female anime fan myself it's really aggravating to see literally anything even remotely targeted towards my group beat down and labeled as "fujoshi bait" or "dumb shit for girls" like damn can we not have anything for us to enjoy? It's already bad enough that shoujo/josei seems to be a dying genre with new seasonal releases being a rarity.

And you're exactly right about that last point, I mean how many idol girl anime have we seen with all female casts and yuri fanservice and they get immense praise all because they appeal to the "right" demographic? Honestly it's gotten really frustrating seeing how hostile the anime community is towards female fans, like cishet dudes are the only audience anime should exist for, it's exhausting.

You and the other person who commented above; correct! If this were gender swapped people would likely be more willing to accept it (except they may not like Eve and Elizabeth being implied to be trans-men or more masculine presenting GNC). Of course I loathe how idol shows use yuri-bait less as an extension of the growing relationship and emotional intimacy of two characters at times. Then again men seem to think lesbians/sapphic women are just a challenge and they still have a chance with them (lame) whereas implied gay men challenge their views on how men should be. I will note I like how Carmilla is called with female pronouns and we’re told solidly by the narrative that AFAB folks can’t be vampires, the creators subtlety made her a cannon trans woman.
