I can definitely say that your friends have not watched a single episode or read manga, because Edens Zero is practically nothing like Fairy Tail. And he is much better than Fairy Tail.

Nah, just the characters look like fairy tail's ones, but the story is different.
Personally i like Edens zero more than Fairy Tail.

That would mean Fairy Tail is a cheap copy of Rave Master…
But anyways it’s not, it’s by the same mangka but the story has nothing to do with Fairy Tail and to me is a lot better. I’ve enjoyed it a lot more than I did with Fairy Tail

It has many similarities, like character design and names. But it's definitely a different story/world. Some people enjoy that nostalgic feel to it, while others hate it. Personally i enjoyed it. Think of it like seeing your favorite actors in different movies/series. Some actors always play the cop role or villain. Which creates some similarities between the different media.

It is not exactly a copy but the characters look the same as both the mangas are written by the same person and it also have some fairytail easter eggs

nah, the characters do look quite similar tho and maybe the writing style too since it Is made by the same person but story is way different

kind of but it's the same creator so yae there and some things in the anime that are similar especially the character design but I've liked it so far so yea

Well, it's the same Mangaka, so expect it to look similar. But the story and setting are nothing alike. There are cameos and the voice of Erza came back for her doppelganger (so that's cool). But just bc they look the same doesn't mean they are.
You should watch it for yourself. I think it's a great addition to the body of work not a comparison.

Haha a stupid man who can't tell the difference between two things, and just because the characters look alike, he thinks it's the same. I think you should know that they are by the same author, ibformate before speaking for the next one.

I only watched 5 episodes and dropped it. However Fairy Tail I have seen it all and am a fan. So take from that what you will.

No it's not a copy of fairy tail. People who don't like hiro mashima's works just say that to trash it without any degree of analysis whatsoever.

Edens zero has a different plot. Different setting and different characters. There's a few themes carried over but they're done in a different way Mashima has always been one to throw in cameos and concepts his fans are familiar with because if you like his works it gets you hyped. Like the concept of the element 4 or the oracion seis. There common concepts he's used before and just throwbacks to previous work. Sake with character designs that are similar like Elsie and Justice appearing similar to Erza and Jellal and Jellal being a throwback to Sieghart from rave. If you like his storytelling and concepts it's fun. If you don't well then why would you like his current work? You wouldn't. People who are complaining are just immature children.

If you're a fan of Mashima's other works then you'll probably enjoy edens zero. If you aren't but aren't apprehensive to him you might as well try it cause the longer it goes on the more it distinguish itself from his previous works. If you hate his works then it's stupid to think you'd like this one and immature to trash something without actually bothering to give it a proper chance
