Non-sequel: Idoly Pride, Super Cub, and Yakunara Mug Cup mo Not truly trash tier but the lowest rated shows I picked up: Urasekai Picnic, Gekidol, and Blue Reflection Ray. The jury is still out on Fall season anime since they just started airing. |
| I'll render judgment on series which began airing in the winter, spring, and summer seasons, even if they haven't finished airing, but I'm not going to include anything which just began in the autumn season and only have one or at most a few episodes out so far. I'm also only going to include new series rather than new seasons of continuing/pre-existing series. I selected 10 series, but I'm not going to strictly rank them because all but one are rated 7s so it's too arbitrary and based on a whim right now to really try and decide which I prefer. A few are clearly above the others as far as my own preferences go, but for the majority it's pretty close and murky, so I'll just list the 10 unranked. - Sonny Boy (8/10) - Hataraku Saibou Black (7/10) - Shadows House (7/10) - Odd Taxi (7/10) - Mars Red (7/10) - Super Cub (7/10) - Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro (7/10) - The Idaten Deities Know Only Peace (7/10) - The Aquatope on White Sand (Still airing, therefore haven't completed, therefore unrated at present) - Shiguang Dailiren (7/10) I've only bestowed two 8 ratings upon anything I've seen from this year. One is for Sonny Boy, the only new series to receive anything as high as an 8 from me. And the other is the third season of the Fruits Basket reboot, Fruits Basket: The Final, but that series started in 2019. Bonus section: The worst, by contrast: - Those Snow White Notes - Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song - Higurashi Sotsu - Higehiro - Biohazard: Infinite Darkness - Cheat Pharmacist's Slow Life: Making a Drugstore in Another World Everything else I've seen (Spider, 86, Vanitas, Fena, etc.) I suppose would lie somewhere in the middle. Series which did begin just recently in fall and I'm most hopeful for being able to possibly seize a spot on this list: - Tsuki to Laika to Nosferatu - Heike Monogatari - Saihate no Paladin - Taishou Otome Otogibanashi - Blue Period (?) (Possibly - I haven't begun it yet) |
