This season is going to be quite rich in hyped titles, so I was interested in the announcement of the new season. Can anyone briefly describe this show? Should I fast-watch the previous two seasons for that?

The first 10 episodes of the first season were pretty slow and it also has a problem of using the first 5 minutes of every episode to give a whole recap, but crunched up. There is a filler arc that is between episodes 49-63. It's pure filler and has basically nothing to do with the plot, so if you're not interested in that you can skip it (I personally didn't skip it because I didn't know at the time). The second season is actually really good compared to the first season so you should definitely watch that. I didn't let the beginning bother me too much to the point I stopped watching otherwise I would've missed out on a pretty good show. If the beginning of season 1 is too slow for you then you can skip it and go to episode 9, but if I were you I'd watch everything except the filler arc.

Yeah, just skip the filler (49-63). I think when I watched the first season it took 3 days since I had a hard time keeping interest. Though I watched the 2nd season on release religiously.

It's a shounen with a detailed power system that manages to stick to its own established rules instead of breaking them at every turn; the majority of the battles are based upon teamwork and tactics, not emotional power-ups and asspulls.

The world-building is interesting and has a lot of potential, but the huge number of side characters means that you'll probably have trouble remembering a bunch of them. Shitty comedy is kept to a minimum, only present in the "extra corner" of the episodes and some filler scenes added in S1.

The first season has pacing issues and lackluster animation, especially at the start, and there are always 1 or 2 minute recaps at the start of episodes, which you should skip. And as others have already said, you should skip the filler arc as well.

Yes, I suggest you to watch the prequels.

Season 1 : 73 episodes
Season 2 : 12 episodes

I think it's worth watching except the filler arc in season 1 which is up there for worst filler arcs of all time IMO. It's not just bad but also soooo long and the characters all act out of character and all the good things in the show aren't present.

I think it's kind of interesting cause S1 is the old style of shonen, aka weekly release indefinitely with lots and lots of padding and filler to make up for needing to continuously put out episodes whereas S2 is the modern style of shonen where it's seasonal and much better produced and paced. As a result S2 is a much better experience but the story/characters is good in both seasons outside of the filler arc.

World trigger is infamously slow at the start but if you stick with it you end up with a really unique series with some of the most detailed battles in the medium. Its all about the little things and the laid back nature of it that really sets it apart but also makes it far less of a far-reaching appeal as other jump shows. The start legitimently just has issues finding its footing and the anime only made it worse with how much toei cuts corners for the first 25 some episodes, after around 10 episodes in the series just progressively gets better and better both in story and production.

And as other said, skip the filler its just not at all what world trigger is going for in any way. The only reason it was there cause they were definitely intending to make this series a longrunner and were doing that to prolong it, but then the author got hospitalized and the series was on hiatus for years so they end up only producing 13 more episodes after this bizzare filler that interrupts a really good arc

I would suggest reading the manga instead of watching the first anime season because Toei didn't do it justice, but do what you prefer. World trigger is an amazing series and it doesn't have power of friendship and ass-pulls to win fights like fairy tail or black clover.

if they do that they should just be warned of how fucking awful the fan translations for the first few volumes were, like just outright machine translations that dont make sense at points.

If you see the word Naver being used instead of neighbor you will know youre reading the wrong one and you should go track down the official viz release

Viz official translations are good. They've been easy to find ever since that manga plus official website.

The anime adaptation is lackluster for the most part. The sections that aren't filler in the first season are substantially worse than the manga and a bit of a slog, the filler section is very skippable, but season 2 picks things up very well. I'd say read the manga up until the arc season 2 covers, and watch that

100% agree. It's like a shonen battle story but put through a mix of government agent/soldier and sports anime (the tactics and strategic use of powers/weaponry. Also the relaly long tournament arc lol)
