| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- The Angel of Vietnam. Damn, what a chapter. Maybe my favourite of the series, Astro's last act being to save the village was great, and I loved him going all in on the Angel of Death act. The villagers repaying Astro was nice, and reading that only a day later everyone was killed anyway was crushing, but thus is war. Their spirits/lives lifting in the shape of Astro felt kind of majestic though, and Astro ending floating down the river like Moses added to the more religious tones of this chapter. Of course, Moses didn't fall to the bottom of the ocean. |
| This is surprisingly dark for a children's manga. Everyone in that village dying due to bombing is really fucked up, but I gotta give props to Tezuka for displaying the war as it is. |
