It seems you misunderstand what God of Manga means. It doesn't mean he's literally the god of manga. It's an epithet, like Jack King Kirby. It's employed by non fans too. It's a title that was given by his peers because he was the first to draw almost all the existing genres.

But yeah I can understand the weariness since it's typical of introductions to use/explain potential epithets in them.

That doesn't make it any less obnoxious and cringy. Especially when every single review feels the need to blurt it out. Also other people have such titles and I don't see them being plastered all over ever single review for their works.

You clearly don't get the point of that nickname. He is the god of manga because he was the creator (in most part) of which now we know as manga (at least, the modern manga). It's not about of being a fan or not of his works, it's about facts.

he literally invented what we know as manga. without him, manga wouldn't be popular as it is now. Tezuka also founded Mushi Production which is probably the first anime studio ever made.

Toei predates Mushi Production. There's a reason nobody calls Tezuka the "god of anime." As influential as his anime may have been, they did not quite hit the peaks his manga did.

It’s funny here someone mentioned Urusawa despite him being a very big fan of Texuka’s work and I’m pretty sure he once said he was blown away by Phoenix and never has been blown away in a way close to it since then
