Okay another good series so far, not sure what to expect from this, but it has some of the charm of season 1 :> Can't wait for more, new mechanic, new hero, new story.

I'm liking this better than the first season

I like how the band-aid was still on her boot after he transformed back

Yeah, though season 1 was great too, it started out weak and ehhhhhh, but as it progressed I learned to love it's charm, especially the ending song hehe.

Yeah this anime needs to be approved already so I can add it onto my list. I just don't understand why the second season is so much different than the first, as in all new characters and setting. I really like it though.

So I really don't know what to expect. I really enjoyed the first season more than I should have, so I was hoping for some continuity and closure here in season 2, but I have no clue what I just watched. I guess it's another series with "To Be Hero" slapped on to it and it's got a lot of charm, but the only nod to the first season's characters we have was in the OP. This episode wasn't bad by any means, but it was unexpected and not what I was hoping for. Hopefully the confusion is sorted out in the next few episodes.

Overall it has similar charms as "To Be Hero," and I'm excited for that. Additionally the animation quality has improved tenfold and the action sequence in this episode in particular was superb.

Hm.. compared to the first season this had a better start. The environment is still familiar.

So the clothings are powers, the boot guy is an interesting fellow. I found it weird when some parts were in Japanese and others in Mandarin.

I strongly recommend that you read the Chinese version. The Japanese version of the clip is already a mess. The rhythm of the battle is not as good as the Chinese version. Even the score is so rubbish. I have always been strongly opposed to the translation of Chinese works into Japanese. Especially under Japan's slim editing technology, a good movie will become a bad film. . I do not understand what confidence the Japanese side feels that their editing techniques are better than ours, especially when the Chinese version of the first episode is 27 minutes.

Wtf happened to the audio the first few minutes were in chinese and then suddenly goes to japanese and then back to chinese? whatever this show is amazing love that they have a more interesting story in this one that the previous season. however I don't see this as a sequel but rather as it's own thing (unless they somehow manage to connect the two). I'm so glad this is just as funny as the previous one plus our mc wears neko face panties (bonus). this world is the best clothes are life, the fighting in this is incredible, and the jokes are mostly home-runs.

they messed up the opening in the Japanese version. The song they chose doesn't fit in the slightest, and is just distracting. The tones clash like water and oil. Why change the opening at all, it was fine the way it was, especially when they kept the mandarin in the series(I only saw the first few minutes, and didn't get to the part where it switched to the Japanese, having to look at the top of the screen was too disorienting). I'm saying that they couldn't change the song, but they needed one that was softer, but with a bit of energy to it.

I know, but I was asking why in the Japanese version some scenes are still in Mandarin (with Jap subs) instead of dubbed in Jap like the rest of the anime.

Unfortunately this one had nothing I liked about To Be Hero. I doubt re-watching in Chinese would give me a different impression, just not feeling the jokes or the characters. I'll give it a few more episodes.

Damn! this might be most awesome fighting scene that i have seen from Haoliners!
Chinese VA and Japanese VA that's quite a nice combination!

Can't believe i'm saying this but imho i prefer the chinese version than the japanese version. The music used during the Hanzo and Simon fight scene was better and more pumped, there were some funnier scenes of the girl that was cut off from the japanese version. From the voice acting, she is more gentle in the japanese version where as she is more head strong in the chinese version. China is growing stronger every day... lol

Someone is overly patriotic here.
2 minutes of the difference come from an art gallery and advertisement at the end alone. Apart from that, nothing crucial seems to have been cut out in the Japanese edition. All scenes make just as much sense.
As for the music choices, I do prefer the Japanese opening while I found the Chinese version of the fight better. It comes down to preference, I guess.
There's one major flaw in the Chinese version, though: the sound mixing/mastering. It's a complete mess. Sometimes the sound effects are twice as loud as the dialogue, sometimes it's the other way around. Haoliners is well-known by now for their low production value. This show (as well as To Be Hero) are generally above their average, but they still suffer in some respects from what I can only assume is lack of resources and experience on the side of Haoliners.
So from that standpoint, it is very understandable that the Japanese edition gets cleaned up so it meets certain basic quality standards. I generally prefer Japanese voice acting over Chinese, but that's just preference again, although again the sound quality of the dialogues is better in the Japanese version.
My verdict is that you're not missing much, if anything, if you just watch the Japanese version - and you don't have to adjust the volume every few minutes.

The 2.39:1 ratio aspect really turn me off, it just doesn't work for TV anime. It feels like they're too lazy to draw the full 16:9 screen. I think China should go for 3D animated instead of 2D drawing.

I actually quite liked To Be Hero but this...while I see it shares some of the style and craziness of To Be Hero however I'm not so sure how I feel about seeing little boys taking off their underwear.

Also a bit too early to judge but just based on this first ep alone I think I prefer the comedy and even just the overall plot and characters of To Be Hero.

I was expecting the crunchy version to be fully dubbed in Japanese, but instead it's an interesting mix of Chinese and Japanese. I can't speak to the fully Chinese version (as I haven’t watched that), but I like the language mix in the crunchy version (even though reading the English at the top of the screen is a bit difficult).

Even if the story doesn’t hold up, the presentation is interesting enough to stick around for.

I have no idea why I loved the first season so much and I'm currently having the same feeling towards this season. The new cast and story make it feel like a completely different series but it still has the same weird charm of the first season. The improved art makes it more enjoyable, though.

The Chinese-Japanese switching felt weird so I hope they reduce it at later episodes.

Let's hope this doesn't end up flopping by the last few episodes. It'll be pretty sad to see such a promising anime go to waste.

This show is great. I know a few of the animators hired overseas from zettai absolute so idk if that counts as bias but the animation has more love and care than any other this season (other than darling in the franxx). Besides that, tho, the way it's presented with the design and colors are fantastic. The shot composition and transitions are fuckin great (the beginning if you pay attention almost seems like it was storyboarded by someone from shaft) and the writing makes a lot more sense for an action animated series than the first one. I really don't understand why when people don't think to be hero saesons are good they assume they're trash. This is genuinely a good show, and a lot higher quality than the experience of the people working on it would make you expect.

Hattori Hanzo... Spirits.. Is this a new Fate series? :V
Was the heroine in normal world part of a love triangle?

It's the best animation project I've seen from Haoliners Animation. Battle scenes are fast and impressive, with many details in the scenario, superior to a famous series that is currently airing. The MC's thinking about society, the form of the spirits are summoned, your personality and this other world are incredible, it seems interesting. The Chinese-Japanese switching was good, since it demonstrates the change of world.

These naked children aren't funny for me, I really don't like it. I feel that To Be Hero was more funny. Although humor and children haven't pleased me, I want to know more about the spirits that are summoned with clothes and this weird world. <3

I honestly just don't know what to think about this Anime so far lol. The first episode just left me feeling weird in a bad way but I will continue as I give every anime a far chance. One thing though did anyone watch this on crunchy roll? because literally during the first episode the voices would change from chinese to japanese really randomly and I am not sure if that was just a part of the anime lol
