Not the most satisfactory ending I've seen, but it was ok. I didn't like the drama that came after the tornado, it felt too forced, with Stephen acting like a prick to everyone. Still happy to see Jeanie and him marrying and having a kid, they are a good couple with a relationship that felt really natural.

Loved the art and some of the songs, but the one thing I'll from remember this anime are the subs - the worst subs I've seen till now. I don't speak Japanese, but even so, it was quite obvious that plenty of stuff was wrongly translated with some sentences that were obviously made up. A English dub would do wonders for this show.

I overall agree with you Hershel, though I'd personally say the show went downhill after Jeanie got kidnapped when trying to head home for the summer after her first year of studying in New York. It wasn't exactly bad, but the show felt so much more realistic up to that point and I was hard to believe the three kids kept running into trouble the way they did.

The orphanage arc did start strong but went downhill fast when it was just a repeat of "Oh no the orphanage will be forced to close! We need to save it! Yay it's saved oh but next episode it's forced to close again!"

It's a pity, thought I was watching another strong classic old-time anime but got less than what I had hoped for.

Still really liked the relationship between Jeanie and Stephen (Minus Stephen becoming a huge prick up till the last bit of episode 52.) and Bill's journey from bottom to top was very believable, especially with him losing his way and being too strict with himself before finding out what he was missing was not talent but the heart in his music.

If they had cut out the over the top adventure drama in the middle and had less of the orphanage will close drama and instead shown Jeanie and Stephen's married life this show certainly would've been a masterpiece.
Nothing is Completely Useless.
