Caesar would be great as a salon worker with his quick hair removal procedures but that'll have to wait because he just found out that Joseph had a different and more dangerous opponent tonight.

Esidesi with his crying, his nightmare finger veins, and self impalement blazing explosion technique were already more than enough for today but he had to steal Joseph's signature bit and spring a new veiny trap over his initially planned stringy ruse. Jojo's in a real pinch right now...

I was thinking about the Pillar Men’s special moves and the obvious answer to why they have a set fighting style outside of their preference is that it makes them memorable. These vein attacks are awesome, whether it’s shooting out of his broken nails, through the wounds he self inflicted, or sneakily through his toenails. That on top of this witty back and forth, be it the Sun Tzu bit or ACDC stealing Joseph’s line, and even then the crying, he’s certainly memorable in a short amount of time.

I found it hilarious when he dropped Joseph’s signature line, it felt good to have Joseph eat some of his own medicine. Interestingly, it serves as a sign that this is now a 50/50 moment, one way we can read it is that Joseph was completely read and now he’s in an awful spot. He saw ACDC’s smugness and went along with the barrier plan to begin with, and we never see Joseph make his plans so to show us one before it’s performed was to set it up to lose. Yet, I don’t like this reading because although Joseph has lost to the wits and strength of Wham and ACDC is the master of Wham, it’s not a good idea to doubt Joseph. I have faith in him and I think the second reading is that since Joseph learns from what he sees almost instantly, paired with him seeing ACDC’s smugness and doubting his plan, and beyond that seeing how the veins can leave his nails implying his toenails can work in that way too, he’s had enough to think to the next level. In this reading to show us the plan beforehand is to play with our expectations, Joseph created the plan and then doubted it thinking it was seen through, yet he decided to do it anyways under the logic that “he’ll definitely fall into it as long as I set up my barrier without him noticing”. So all of this together paired with his thoughts make me think this “barrier” was a bait and he’s set up another one in another form that ACDC didn’t notice.

I liked seeing the birds eye view map of the players involved here, whenever I see One Piece do that it gives this tangible feeling of numerous gears all moving together and I’m glad to see it here as well. We got to see Caesar’s trial was on ropes high up in the sky and it made me think about how a hamon fight may need “unique” battle arenas because hamon is life energy that heals living things, it doesn’t hurt them to my knowledge. Therefore, the loss is whoever loses balance or stops breathing in rhythm and falls into the spikes. That’s how I read it anyways. Caesar ended up winning the trial and showed he cares about Joseph and believes in them which led to Messina stating Caesar falls for his friends harder than women once he finally makes them which may not be far off. What this also went to show is that Caesar, Messina, and Lisa Lisa all have an idea of what’s going on now and they could still come into play!

This is looking bad for Joseph, ACDC is dominating him. He even stole Jojo's signature trick/catchphrase.
