Was caught offguard by King Riku's reveal. Didn't expect the old gladiator to actually end up being such a big name considering how little time he got in his block fight. Toy Soldier reveal was less surprising. At this point he was either King Riku himself or Rebecca's father.

Think we need the story of how he lost his leg though. Would've been far more likely to have been able to protect Rebecca's mother and also teach her how to fight compared to just swining his toy gun while balancing on a single leg. Also need more explanation into that toy converter's power. Seems a bit over the top that not only can he transform people into toys, but then proceed to control them with rules they can't ignore and make every single person who ever knew that person forget them. The last part is completely insane because there seems to be no limit. Would a person on the other side of the world also be affected if someone they knew got turned into a toy?

Really good lore episode. Oda continues to be the goat at world building side.

On the non surprising side was the toy solider being Rebecca father and heir to the throne. Since the flashback episode I thought this as much. Lot of lore this arc on the world government and celestial dragons which I been loving.

On the surprising side that the old gladiator was the former king. I thought there was something more to him in block B. But then I forgot about him. But never did I think the old king was alive and him. Good surprise.

"Big surprise" my ass. Was this revelation surprising for anybody ? It was clear that they toys used to be humans from the very beginning and now it has been established since some episodes that when people turn into toys, people forget them (I'm sure this is also why nobody remembers the champion gladiator from the statue too) and given his relationship with Rebecca and her mother it was clear he is her father.

I love the worldbuilding in One Piece, but the story is predictable and quite stretched.

I honestly expected that the Devil Fruit user of the Toy Toy Fruit would be someone more...fitting. A sadistic little girl would've been a hundred times more appropriate so I kind of feel betrayed lmao

Soldier-san has always been a father figure towards Rebecca so the thought of him being her real dad was in my mind for a while now. King Riku being one of the losing participants means that there'd be a very interesting 3-generational family reunion coming soon with two of them most likely being toys by the time it happens.

The Don Quixote family being tyrannical bastards for centuries somehow makes me think that Doflamingo's a mix of someone who was born to be evil while at the same time someone who never really had a choice.

Same. That's how I imaged that character to be too. I'm also disappointed and frankly appalled by the design of the actual character. One Piece has some badass villains like Crocodile and Enel but man, do they have some annoyingly bad villains.
