Iron Knight has officially ended in Jump #18, with chapter 16.

Despite the poor execution of the serialization, the mangaka definitely has potential, so I hope he comes back with a much better series a few years from now.

Figured this was going to happen in a chapter or two after seeing the scans of Chapter 15, as Teppei got absolutely destroyed. Will be interested to see how Chapter 16 ends though. Hahaha...

I find it odd that ANN felt the need to report this. It's not like they report the cancellation of every series in Jump that gets axed early.

Well they say there will be three volumes with the final one having some new content. I assume that means a few extra chapters to tie up the loose ends of the story considering it looks like chapter 16 ends with a bit of a cliff hanger. I suppose the mangaka could see if he wants to find another magazine to publish in without the shitty editors at SJ.

So my list of complaints about Iron Knight are as follows:

1. There was no need to make Teppei and all characters younger, everything just became odd when they did this, I don't know which editor thought this was a good idea but they should be FIRED.
2. Teppei's character became really irritating as the story went on, he was so based on his own sense of justice that practically everything he did was predictable and gave no depth to his character. Another Emiya Shirou from FSN, although Emiya was more interesting.
3. This story got no hint of where it was going during its run, just a bunch of random enemies (almost like a American superhero comic book), there needed to be some subtle hints as to where this was going in order to make the plot more edgy. In all honesty I was beginning to get bored...
4. Dialogue was atrocious and generic (could be translation).
5. I feel the story should've stuck a bit more to the one-shot, it didn't seem to hold up.

Compliments:

1. I liked Yuki well enough, she was interesting and I felt she may have had ulterior motivations. In fact her interactions with Teppei might've been what made the story readable.
2. Art was pretty good in my opinion.
3. Definitely some potential to make some unique abilities for this character with his metalworking ability. (I would've liked to see some more development for him to get his abilities though)
