1. Nana

Nana
Nana revolves around two women with the same name, Nana. They are both heading to Tokyo. One to be closer to their boyfriend while the other is pursuing her dreams of becoming a famous punk singer. While it is renowned for its amazing soundtrack filled with in your face tracks, it's also hard to ignore how fashionable these characters are.

Nana Komatsu, the narrator of the series, has a style that is very vintage-inspired. From pastels to 60's bright colors such as orange, yellow, pink, white and pastel blue, her wardrobe is very ladylike and really sweet. Komatsu's wardrobe also consists of cutesy floral patterns, feminine shoes and expensive handbags.

Nana Osaki, the aspiring punk rock singer, has a completely different take on fashion. Her style is punk with a mixture of 80's glamour and 90's grunge. Her favorite fashion designer is Vivienne Westwood and you can catch pieces from her clothing/accessory line in the anime. On stage Nana Osaki is usually seen with heavy makeup, ruffled dresses, and a ton of jewelry - from necklaces to her infamous Vivienne Westwood armor ring. Offstage you can catch her wearing a leather jacket paired with a ripped band tee, combat boots, fishnet tights and plaid skirts.

2. Gokinjo Monogatari

Gokinjo Monogatari
Gokinjo Monogatari is about Kouda Mikako, a student studying fashion with dreams of becoming a fashion designer. She already has a clothing line called "Happy Berry" where she sells all her designs and creations that she made during her free time.

Kouda Mikako, the protagonist of the series, has a very unique style. A lot of her wardrobe consists of 60's and 70's attire. From her platform shoes to her choice of varying colors of pink, baby blue and white, along with jumpers, polka dots and flowers, her style is eclectic and simple at the same time.

3. Paradise Kiss

Paradise Kiss
Paradise Kiss focuses on Yukari Hayasaka, a third year highschool student who doesn't have time to do anything outside of studying for her university entrance exams. She is scouted by Arashi and ends up in the world of fashion. Throughout her journey she is pushed to grab hold of her identity as well as discover new depths of her personality.

In the beginning, Yukari is not very fashionable; however, by the end of the series she develops quite the sophisticated persona. Ranging from feminine fabrics, stylish high heels and menswear pieces, her wardrobe is very polished and fit for any aspiring model.

The rest of the characters within the series all have very different styles. From luxurious tailored suits with fancy accessories, to plaid pants paired with tons of leather, spikes and safety pins, it's impossible that you won't be inspired by this anime.

4.Kill la Kill

Kill la Kill
Kill la Kill is about Ryuuko Matoi, a girl who is on a mission to find the one who owns the second half of the "scissors blade". A sword that was used to kill her father. Her travels lead her to Honnouji Academy which is run by the powerful Satsuki Kiryuin and her "Elite Four".

You might be thinking, 'what's Kill ka Kill doing on this list?'; however, fashion plays a huge part in Kill la Kill. In the anime, the character's school uniforms play a major role in the series. The uniforms are a means to segregate the social classes. They're also, let's be real, unlike any other sailor uniform that's ever been depicted in anime, and next level stylish.

Ryuuko Matoi is rebellious, independent and extremely stubborn. Senketsu, the kamui/armor she wears is tough yet has a feminine touch, and its colors represent not only how she is on the outside but on the inside as well. Satsuki Kiryuin, Ryuuko's rival, is ruthless and self-confident, with only pure intentions. Junketsu - her kamui - reflects her personality and persona. By wearing crisp white and being form fitted, this girl is all business.

5. Cardcaptor Sakura

Cardcaptor Sakura
Cardcaptor Sakura is about a 10 year old girl named Sakura Kinomoto who accidentally opens a magical book and sets a bunch of powerful cards loose into the world. It is now up to her to capture all 52 of those cards before a great danger befalls the world.

From beginning to end, Cardcaptor Sakura is very fashionable. The style is mainly that of Lolita with the frilly dresses, lots of lace, and very feminine clothing. Lolita fashion derives from Victorian and Edwardian clothing. Within the anime of Cardcaptor Sakura, the basis of the clothing is ultra feminine with whites, pinks, reds and other 'girly' colors.
