11 | ![]() | 86 Part 2 I loved it but it's irritating that after they ended up in Federation show started to repeat the same lines over and over. Like "think about your future", "kids shouldn't fight", "Republic good Federation bad", "We are not the same as Republic", "Nobody force you to fight", "You push yourself too much, Shin". I usually don't mind plot armor but it was ridiculous when one of the characters was like "Yeah, I don't know how I survived lol." Also, I didn't like the "mature loli" trope. I felt like she doesn't belong in this show. It ruined the tone and couldn't immerse myself. I didn't like her VA as well. | 7 | 12

46 | ![]() | Chainsaw Man I immensely disliked the directing. Meaningless pauses in dialogue, pointless scenes just to flex the animation, unfitting tone compared to what the story presents. The comedy feels flat because of the extremely serious and tense tone, even if I liked the humor, the delivery of the jokes was so jarring and unimpactful. I also dislike that they constantly use blur on the side of the screen. There were so many great shots dragged down by it. if we talk about "typical characters" then CSW characters fit perfectly. We got an edgy stoic guy with a revenge quest (Aki), we got coomer main character typical for ecchi romcoms, we got a shy hysteric girl who is secretly a badass (Kobeni), and we got a cougar drunkard female (Himeno), we got quirky dump girl (Power). Every female character is either reward for MC or a groomer/manipulator. The only exception was Kobeni but there was still a thing about her becoming a sex worker. Every character is just an execution of a trope. Also, i found it ironic that Mappa removed the line about work unions. And the fact that this show was screening on Crunchyroll. Hmmm, I wonder why... The power system doesn't make sense. Makima said that devil power is based on fear. So how the fuck eternity or chainsaw devil is stronger than ghost or blood devil... When you see the chainsaw in the shop you don't fear the chainsaw, and when you see someone with the chainsaw in the dark ally you don't fear the chainsaw you fear the person. A chainsaw is simply a tool it doesn't have a mind of its own. Gun and katana make sense since they are weapons that only usage is to kill. Also, a fox devil shouldn't be stronger than a leech or bat. Also, the more commonplace guns become shouldn't they be less feared instead of more? Ghost devil power is inconsistent. Sometimes characters can touch it and sometimes they can't. The final episode was anticlimactic. Curse devil was disappointing after being hyped up in the "eternity devil arc". The whole katana devil is filled with plot armor and plot conveniences. First Aki didn't finish Katana man and let Akane heal him, which was never explained or shown how she did it, she just put an arm above him. Then Himeno instead of waking up Denji at the beginning decided to sacrifice herself first. Then they didn't finish off Aki. Then Kobeni showed up and saved the day. How can you have a composer like Kensuke Ushio do the soundtrack and somehow manage to not have 1 memorable track? Also, the placement of tracks is often not fitting and doesn't fit the scene. | 2 | 12

58 | ![]() | Cross Game I love how this show deals with drama compere to other sports anime. They tend to be a bit overdramatic. Storytelling in this show is subtle so you have to read between the lines but I really loved that. There is a lot to uncover. I was catching myself thinking "maybe I'm overthinking it" but after finishing the show I realized I wasn't. This show takes to heart the "show, don't tell" rule. THE ENDING IS SO FUCKING GOOD! | 9 | 50
59 | ![]() | Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 7.5 "Just another tale for the next dreamer..." It's a more uncommon approach than most cyberpunk shows. While most cyberpunk shows focus on social structures/issues and governmental and corporate corruption like GITS:SAC, Psycho-Pass (edgerunners explores those too). This show is more focused on hopes and dreams of individuals that try to find their place in this dystopian world.. I think this genre was lacking stories like this (more individual focused, not social). I love Lucy-David's relationship, their connection, and parallels. In episode 2 she said that Night City is like a prison for her. For David, the prison was an academy and his mother's dream. He was able to go out of his "prison" but Lucy was still in hers, his mother's dream wasn't a prison for him anymore. That's why he was trying to take her out, to the moon. | 7 | 10

Comedy often feels flat. Also, for the show that tries to be scientifically accurate, there is a lot of ridiculous shit happening. For example, in episode 17 where Byakuya with no navigation was able to find and rescue people stuck in the middle of the ocean/sea. | 5 | 24

102 | ![]() | Gintama amazing: plot, dialogues, characters, characters interactions and dynamics, comedy, social commentary. It's the most creative show I've ever seen and I love the use of comedy as a tool in storytelling. I never knew I could care about fictional characters this much. Even if I don't find some episodes funny they are always fun therefore it is the most consistent long-running show I've watched. Also, rewatch value is very high, I love it more and more every rewatch. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thoughts about Gintoki-Takasugi dynamic (spoilers episode 305): !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love that Takasugi doesn't hate Gintoki but hates himself and the picture of himself that he sees in Gintoki, because he knows he would make the same decision. It's like he is trying to destroy part of himself by going against Gintoki and doesn't realize it himself, but Gin is pointing it out to him, with means that he knows his feelings better than he himself. He subconsciously tries to punish himself for letting his master die, but the more he does that the more he hates himself, he is trapped in the circle of self-hatred. Takasugi has some strong survivor’s guilt. Gintoki does many reckless things throughout the series (even borderline suicidal) and him stating out that he refuses to be killed by Takasugi's hands is just heartbreaking, because that means Takasugi that he knows would die with him. Gin refuses to be the tool in Takasugi's self-punishment. We finally get an answer to why Gintoki was so obsessed with protecting things. And that's because he couldn't protect his master and because his actions led to Takasugi being the way he is now. This is honestly the greatest and most unique protagonist-antagonist dynamic I've ever seen, by far, and I still finding out new things about it after rewatching Gintama countless times. Also, an amazing detail is that we saw Gintoki cry after killing Shouyou, but not Takasugi with means that he was building those emotions inside and couldn't move on. I love reveals, flashbacks and fight, but my favorite part was the dialogue at the end. I could talk for hours about episode 305, and about past episodes with the added context of this episode (i highly recommend re-watching episode 180). "You don't have the right to call yourself her master! You don't have the strength to shoulder a student and their pain!" ~ Gintoki in Red Spider Arc | 10 | 201

104 | ![]() | Gintama Movie 2: Kanketsu-hen - Yorozuya yo Eien Nare | 9 | 1
105 | ![]() | Gintama' the best season in terms of comedy 4 devas Gintoki has never been this vulnerable with Yorozuya. It's sad to see him like this but it was a great character moment. It's easy to forget, with how much he does for others, but Gintoki has his own baggage. Shinpachi's speech was one of the best. It really shows his growth and that his mentor can count on him in need. Never fail to make me tear up. "Aren't you supposed to be Sakata Gintoki? The man who's let so much slip away, who's failed to protect so much...but swore that he would never run away from his responsibilities! Didn't you promise her husband? Once you've decided to protect something, you'll protect it to the very end! Isn't that what makes you Sakata Gintoki?! So what if Otose-san's life was in danger? This isn't enough to kill Otose-san off! Isn't enough to kill us off! Isn't enough to kill you off! Because you're going to protect us! Because we're going to protect you! Isn't that what Yorozuya is about? Isn't that how the three of us protected so much over the years?" I also like the line by Pirako's mother that Jirocho is still fighting, and he didn't come back from the battlefield. It's hard for war veterans to change their way and fully recover from all their trauma and survivor's guilt. The battlefield is following them even outside the battlefield. We saw that before with Hosen, Jiraia, Gintoki, Katsura, Takasugi. There is also another Gintoki-Jirocho parallel. Gin was trying to abandon Yorozuya the same way that Jirocho abandoned Pirako. Both did that to protect something. The difference is that Gintoki comes back to them while Jirocho is still on the metaphorical "battlefield" and Pirako trying to bring him back him and is failing, unlike Shin and Kagura. | 10 | 51

111 | ![]() | Gintama. Shirogane no Tamashii-hen - Kouhan-sen Episode 361 was one of my favorite in the series. "Are you scared of the war ending? Once it's over, even a hero will go back to being an ordinary man. But that's his real battlefield. Now that your body is no longer capable of running, face your suffering and struggle for the rest of your life, as an ordinary man. I'm not all that different from you. I'm drowning in the countless sins I've committed. However... If the man wrought by my sins... If that man over there tells me to stop, I have no choice but to stop." ~ Takasugi Shinsuke. "Humans, i know you better than you know yourselves. You're foolish, cowardly, cruel, and filthy creatures. Creatures that kept repeating their mistakes, caused much suffering, and never stopped fearing me." ~ Utsuro "Fear? Me? Fear humans? No, that's wrong. I just simply don't understand the human who caused me, who had always cursed people, to give birth to another self that loved people. Why? You shouldn't be able to stand anymore. Your sword should've been broken forever. So..... Why? Why do you still stand there? Why is it? I don't understand. I don't understand! No, I knew all along. That knowledge is what made me want to get rid of him. Him, who could possibly erase even me. I know all too well..... That boy, and how powerful humanity can be. To think that man was still a part of me.... A mere fragment born to me as I drifted through countless lives. But he has destroyed my eternity. I was the one who was a mere fragment, huh?" ~ Utsuro | 10 | 14

You can put an end to everything by piercing that chest with a sword!" ~ Takasugi episode 305 He literally does that in the movie. "Humans are hollow beings. But because they know that, they take root in the hearts of others, never fading, even after death, and continue to live forever, is it?" ~ Utsuro Finally, after so many episodes, we get the definition of soul (something immortal) that is in the title of the show (Silver Soul), that Gintoki was talking about since the beginning of the series. And it comes from an immortal being in his dying moments, the same person that thought him that, and the final antagonist. Gintoki accepting to live while Utsuro accepting to die. IT COULDN'T BE MORE PERFECT! SORACHI IS A GENIUS! "Unless I protect sensei's will, unless I protect the disciples I have not met yet, I cannot call myself your first disciple, can I?" ~ Oboro episode 327 Oboro finally was able to protect his master and his classmates. And in his eyes, he is finally worthy of the title of the first disciple. I already was satisfied with his character conclusion but Sorachi make it even better. | 10 | 1

I liked the characters at first but the more I watched this show the more I dislike them. TOO MUCH EXPOSITION! SHOW! DON"T TELL! Morality in chimera ants is stupid at times or rather its presentation. But it's thought-provoking, though. So overall I enjoyed it. I didn't care about nen and I didn't enjoy the focus on it (it was just boring). It's just magical power bullshit anyway, developed most conveniently for the author so he can justify power-ups. Reducing the growth moment and struggle of Killua to "I have a needle in my head placed by my brother" was just disappointing and stupid. I'm glad that this show wasted my time explaining how the elevator works. Gon and Kite's relationship was just bad, I didn't feel their connection at all, therefore Gon's development was forced and unrealistic in my eyes. The Election arc was just ass-pull after ass-pull and they nullified consequences after CA. 153 | ![]() | Jujutsu Kaisen Not much to offer besides fights. It's a typical brawl anime that doesn't try to build the characters beyond being cool and quirky. They don't have much emotional depth or interesting development, they feel more like poppets of the author to push the themes and story. How can you kill Yuji if he can come back to life after GETTING HIS HEART RIPPED OFF... The whole point of the show is to sacrifice him after he eats all fingers and nobody even questioned it... This show tries to be so "cool" that it makes me cringe. Nanami is the only character I like. The rest are annoying and just all-around bad. They usually have one personality trait that is beaten to death. I feel like the author tries to make everyone "cool, quirky, and perfect teen" stereotype and it feels forced, boring, and overused. Basically, the whole show is badass characters doing badass things and cracking a joke or doing something quirky from time to time with no substance, structure and direction. There are too many fights that feel just pointless, forced and lead to nothing. The whole show feels rushed and nothing feels earned. Yuji is flawless and can beat the world record (black flash) because reasons. We barely saw them train and the main cast is already on a special grade level. Also, this show had the lamest training arc I saw in battle shonen, which is watching movies. The "school shooter arc" was so shallow and despite trying, lack any emotional impact. | 3 | 24

There is also a lot of flashing back to the stuff we saw seconds ago. The pacing is all over the place. And constant time skips make carrying about the main cast group dynamic really hard. I don't hate time skips but a three in 1,3h movie is just too much. That also makes Yuta's character progression unnatural, forced, and rushed. -I wasn't invested in Yuta-Rika's relationship at all. It wasn't flashed out at all therefore climax was disappointing. Every time they show the same flashback (they did that 3 times) I care even less. They could do so much more than just repeat the same thing. -there was no logical reason why Geto didn't kill Yuta when they first meet or when he was on a job with Toge. And he gives him almost a year to prepare... If he was only there to check if Rika was worth it then when did he decide she was? Because you can't explain it with "she manifested during time skip" because it was stated that when he was fighting Goto, it was 2nd time she fully manifested. So where does the 99% rate of success estimated by Geto comes from? -they didn't show Todo fight which was disappointing -where did Yuta took the megaphone from? -Animation is great but sometimes CGI-2D animation blending and camerawork is sometimes bad and characters seems floaty. It's not as bad as 1st season so it's more of a nitpick. -I like animation but sometimes the blur effect together with the tempo makes it hard to follow. -How the fuck nobody foresaw that Geto is after Rika... They knew about his ability too... Gojo even knew that Geto was observing Yuta and Toge. | 2 | 1
155 | ![]() | Jujutsu Kaisen 2nd Season Same problems as 1st season. Most of the fights can be completely erased from the show and nothing would change. And even those that had purpose felt unimpacted because I didn't care about characters. I had no reason to care for Sukuna vs Mahoraga... Mahoraga in particular comes out of nowhere with 0 buildup. Megumi spawned him to deal with some random blond dude that for some reason wasn't killed or even restrained by Nanami... I thought Nanami was supposed to be an expired one who we could count on... My favorite part of the season was Geto character focus and Yuji's breakdown, but... I have a huge problem with how both were handled. Geto was replaced with a boring brain worm and looking back his conclusion in jjk0 was just mediocre at best. Killing Geto in jjk0 and replacing him with Kenjaku just to force a connection with Yuji's character was a mistake. Also, his depression was very rushed, and his relationships with Gojo, Riko and Yuu were unimpactful for me as a viewer. The fact that Riko and Yuu were never mentioned before feels like they were just shoehorned and used as a plot device. They never felt like a real character who was a part of the world from the beginning. Which makes the conflict forced, artificial, and more shallow. Now about Yuji's suriviors guilt... Again I feel like there wasn't enough buildup for it. Yes, I know that there was Yuji's conversation with Nobara at the end of last season and Junpei but that was already dealt with earlier and never brought up this season which is a shame. It makes me think that it was completely forgotten like it never happened. If they at least showed a singular image for 1 second his breakdown would feel much more believable (even if I had problems with those plot points in s1). And it was weird how fast it was dealt with. One hype Todo's speech + retcon with Nobara may be alive and Yuji is back... And don't make me start about asspulled character like Arata... Let's just introduce a random character that was never mentioned in the most dire part of the arc that can heal MC and Nobara... In conclusion, there are some ideas but the execution is just not good... | 4 | 23

166 | ![]() | Kimetsu no Yaiba This show has the best conclusion to a training arc I've seen. 2 years of devastating training where MC got his hands bruised up and will never fully heal. And after all that, he is comforted by the warm smile of his rival and a hug from his master who both were strict and cold toward him before. I love how this show portrays becoming a demon as a form of escapism. I like the metaphor "forging a sword, forging a person" with Zenitsu backstory "To dispel the regrets of those killed, to stop any more victims from appearing, I will relentlessly wield my blade against the demons and that's a fact. But I will not trample on the pains of being a Demon. Nor on those who regret their actions. Because demons were humans... they were humans like me." This quote makes me like Tanjiro's character a lot more. He is aware of the moral ambiguity of his actions but he still makes that choice for his own personal reasons. Also, compared to other shonen "good boy" character stereotype, what I like about him and what makes him different and more natural is that his situation explains his empathy towards demons. Because his sister was turned into a demon he can understand their situation and struggle better compare to others and it doesn't feel forced like it usually is with characters like that. Also, I liked that he is forced into the situation that he's in. That makes me more invested in the journey and final outcome. Usually, shonen protagonists objectives are something like "I want to become hokage", "I want to be king of pirates", "I want to be the strongest hero", "I want to fuck my sister" typical shonen shit. But in this case, if nothing happened Tanjiro would probably lead a normal life. He had no ambition to be someone special and was pushed into this mess, that's why I'm much more invested. I loved the choice for Rui's power because his threads represent the forced bonds that he created. And Nezuko being tangled up with his "bonds"(and later burning them) and Tanjiro cutting them is poetic and adds more emotions to the fight. Natagumo Mountain arc was great. I like that there isn't a tournament arc where everyone beats each other up for no reason (because fuck logic and we need to force fights between characters) like in other shonen. I really like the main trio group dynamic and how they complement each other: - Inosuke - before he meet them he only cared about becoming stronger, never had a place to call home, and never felt the warmth of another person (that's why he is so stunned when someone shows concern about him). He never had a rule model and everything he knew he learned himself, but even if he is stubborn and hates losing, he's willing to learn from others (even his breathing style is self-thought). - Zenitsu - was deceived many times despite that he still wanted to believe in people and has low self-esteem but the group push him to do things he wouldn't do by himself. - Tanjiro - was able to find a new family and home that he lost. He is also the most mature therefore he gives them the biggest push to change. He also was the oldest in his family, so it makes sense he knows how to deal with brats. I always was a sucker for stories where character lost or never had a place they could call home but was able to regain/find it. | 8 | 26
167 | ![]() | Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen I can't remember the last time when I have so much fun watching battle shounen. It has some cliches but honestly, it didn't bother me. I loved the reveal of the name of flame breathing ninth form. Natsuki Hanae's and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka's performances towards the end of the movie were some of my favorite of all time. I feel bad for people watching it in English dub. | 8 | 1
168 | ![]() | Kimetsu no Yaiba: Hashira Geiko-hen Kagaya's speech about stepping on a tiger's tail and unleashing the dragon's wrath also alludes to yin and yang. Muzan isn't alive or dead; he just exists. He is stuck in a state between life and death, creating an imbalance. That's why Kagaya mentions the tiger and the dragon, which represent yin and yang. Muzan is BETWEEN the tiger and the dragon, destroying the harmony. It's almost as if, because Muzan has lived past his lifespan, he is drawing the life force from the Ubuyashiki family just to balance it out. I also love how this show handles the existential theme of eternity, contrasting the eternity of demons with that of humanity. It emphasizes that permanence should not be sought in the flesh but in metaphysical concepts. The hanafuda earring, Kagura dance, Yoriichi Type 0, and the sword hidden inside itᅳall of these are examples of this theme. They are important not because they are material things, but because of the sentimental and emotional value they inherit. They were passed down, serving as evidence of someone's existence, their feelings, and their connection to this world even after their physical form is gone. | 9 | 8
169 | ![]() | Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-hen The concept of inherited memories perfectly ties up with what Tanjiro said to Kotetsu about connecting lives. It encompasses the idea that even after death, humans persist through memories of them, the knowledge they passed down, and all the other things that they left behind. Tanjiro expressed that the lives they connected would ultimately lead to Muzan's downfall. Essentially, it boils down to the clash between true eternity (humanity) and false eternity (demons/Muzan). The doll, earrings, the sun breathing exemplify this concept. In contrast, Muzan's speech about change is an antithesis of this notion as it highlights the ever-changing nature of human eternity, in stark contrast to demons who remain trapped in a stagnant state. Demons gain immortality but lose their memories and sense of self, becoming unable to move forward or progress. In fact, Muzan's rejecting change is like he rejects the concept of living itself. Can you really say that you're alive when there is no change in your emotions, body and mind? It also contradicts the Sun Breather's words from Tanjiro's dream "My name is as worthless as i am". I feel like both siblings were right and wrong. Muichiro's overly optimistic approach led him to treat becoming a Demon Slayer as a game rather than taking it seriously. On the other hand, Yuichirou's excessive pragmatism and pessimism hindered his brother's growth, as Muichiro himself expressed feeling suffocated while living with him. The key lies in finding a balance between the extremes, and that's precisely what Muichiro's development journey was. He transitioned from being overly optimistic to excessively pragmatic and pessimistic, and eventually settled into a balanced middle ground at present. I find it interesting how toxic, visceral, and intrusive Muichiro's relationship with his brother was. There is no question about whether Yuichiro loved Mui, but his love manifested in ways that were manipulative, isolating, and caging. That's some serious mental/identity issues. Even after regaining his memories, he still acts like his brother to the extent, so some of those qualities become part of him now, for better or worse. He lived like this for 2 years, so it just makes sense. Most likely deep down he wanted to be more assertive like his brother. I loved the idea of his brother becoming part of him, it's probably one of my favorite portrayal of this particular trope that I've come across. Witnessing his (or his brothers) pragmatic demeanor/mask breaking throughout the season leading to this moment is one of my favorite character moments in Demon Slayer. It is interesting to note that both Genya and Sanemi are a lot like their father in their current behavior, from what we saw. They have developed a tendency to antagonize others and exhibit violent tendencies etc. What connects both Mitsuri's and Muichiro's backstories is the idea of finding your own identity but in a different way. Muichiro faced pressure from his brother, while Mitsuri was influenced by societal norms (being afraid to be judged by others) that leads both into hiding their real self and not pursuing what they really want. However, despite temporarily losing sight of what they wanted and succumbing to external expectations, they were able to regained their footing and pursue the path they really wanted, true to themselves. Hantengu is a contrast to that he's a liar living a life of lies while victimizing himself. In the end Mitsuri realized that her life is being controlled by others and not by herself. She recognized that she had been following a predetermined path set by others, causing her to lose touch with her own individuality. Her desire was for others to value her authentic self, and not "self" burdened by the expectations and pressures imposed upon her by external influences. Sanemi's unwillingness to accept Nezuko in season 1 was also a coping mechanism. Since if he could accept that there are demons who can withstand their tendencies then what was his sacrifice for? His already complex feelings about the past become even more complex. He deliberately provoked her because he wanted to reaffirm to himself that he had made the correct decision in the past. Since he was the only Hasira provoking her. I love how much his backstory recontextualizes him. | 9 | 11
170 | ![]() | Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen | - | 7
171 | ![]() | Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen While the previous arc focused on the theme of indomitable aspects of human spirit (as a species), this one focus on indoctrination (Daki, Gyutaro, Tengen) and valuing your own life (survivor's guilt of Tengen and Tanjiro) and how to reconcile both with being a demon slayer. It was nice to see how much Rengoku affected the cast. Especially Inosuke who, as I assumed from what I've seen thus far, never had a rule model in his life. "Are you so determined to blame someone?" ~ Nezuko to Tanjiro I loved the reality check. By blaming himself for everything, he hurts people that care about him because nobody wants their close ones to carry the burden by themselves for something they didn't do or had no control over. By doing that, Tanjiro is more selfish than selfless because he does not take into consideration other people's feelings, and belittles input of their actions. I love how his kind-heartedness was made into character flaw. "Being the only one to survive so disgracefully!" ~ Gyutaro to Tanjiro In the Mugen Train Movie, Tanjiro was apologizing and asking for forgiveness in his dream to his family. He was apologizing for surviving. He has some strong survivor’s guilt. What's more, after that scene in the movie he was literally forced to kill himself in order to wake up. This season really put that in a different perspective. "But even if I end up turning into a demon, I'm sure...that someone in the Demon Slayer Corps will do me the favor of beheading me." ~Tanjiro This quote shows how Tanjiro doesn't value himself. Because he didn't do that "favor" to her (again showcasing his survivor's guilt). It also shows his ideology as a demon slayer because he sees killing demons as doing them a "favor". Because in a way, this is a form of restoring their humanity. Kinda reminds me of seppuku, which in a way was a purifying ritual. I absolutely loved Tanjiro's philosophy behind killing demons and how the show portrays their deaths. There was also an unspoken story about the pains of being a Hashira through Rengoku's father. The broken man who was unable to change anything (which is not true, but that is his perspective) and was left with only regrets. And after all of his sacrifices, he was unable to be by his dying wife's side in her last moments and saw his own son taking the same path he did. Also parallel between him and Akaza in episode 1/8 was great. Akaza was able to see Rengoku's talent while his own father was blinded by his regrets. In the end, he was left with regret that he couldn't do more for his son but this time it was a push to change himself. But while his wife death push him into despair, his son death was the push to do better. He's a really underrated character, and I loved how much characterization he had despite limited screen time. Gyutaro being born in a district where appearance matters the most followed up by him overcoming insecurity because of Ume was a great development for him. She literally saved him by being born and his appearance was a tool to protect her from the harsh environment they lived in. "In this city, women are merchandise. The same as objects. Getting sold, bought and destroyed. The owner is free to do with them as she chooses. Ugly people have no right to eat any meals. The inept shouldn't be treated as humans!" ~Daki This quote shows Daki's distorted values, caused by her involvement in the prostitution industry. Also, Tengen's struggle to reject values installed in him as a child parallels to Daki, who had been completely indoctrinated. Tengen's backstory was great. His struggle to reject values installed in him as a child is a nice touch. He's aware of his weakness and strengths and he understands that he's not special. It's just not easy to be completely objective about yourself. He feels inferior towards Rengoku. Because of his shinobi past, when he was taking the same lives of people that Rengoku dedicated his whole life to protect. (Episode 7) Nezuko's cathartic moment was amazing. She never was able to process that her family is gone, because she is a demon (a more animalistic version of herself). At that moment she come back to being her old self and realized the situation she was in and that she almost eat a human and hurt Tanjiro, her only surviving family member. It illustrates well her struggles as a demon. Every day she fights the urge to eat humans so strong that other demons lose their minds when they are starving, and at that moment she almost gives in to it. She clings to what's left of her free will and her past self and she almost lost that. I really loved seeing different pieces of equipment being used in the fights (bombs, nunchucks blades, kunai gun with wisteria extract). A lot of creativity and thought was put into fights and it was not only mindless beating each other up. Demons abilities were great too. In the beginning, they seemed basic but they expanded on them later on (detaching belt, smoothing your neck so it can't be cut off, giving one of the eyes so the 2nd person can your pov and support you in a fight). Loved the integration of real historical elements (Yoshiwara) with supernatural (demons). I found it really cool that Daki was able to build a folk tale about her. 'It was as if all of the abuse and insults in the world were created just for me.' ~ Gyutaro | 9 | 11

243 | ![]() | Naruto: Shippuuden Naruto to every villain in existence: I was the same as you... Kishimoto portrays toxic relationships as something noble. Naruto and Sasuke's relationship/friendship was very shallow and poorly written. It was built on a foundation of relatability since both Naruto and Sasuke were orphans (and rivalry, but that's less important), but that foundation was very weak. And that's it. Their relationship never evolved or progressed/developed. No additional layers were ever added to their friendship, despite it being the central plot point in the show. For some reason, Naruto has an obsession with Sasuke that is never justified. The idea that “we’re both orphans, so we’re best friends” is a very superficial and uninteresting basis for their bond. Stupid and worthless ideals that either lead to nothing, are just childish or make no sense. 276 | ![]() | Ousama Ranking Had some cool ideas but the execution was poor. The start was great but the 2nd half... There is a lot of drama for the sake of drama but it adds nothing to the plot, characters, or even themes. The character's motivations were extremely simplistic. Most characters are like "I saw this boy struggling so i will devote everything to him" or they just change sides very easily. It just gets boring. I also didn't like bait and switch with MC being the underdog. There are a lot of plot holes and inconsistencies like Ouken age, Boji being afraid of Domas but he's fine with his mother's killer... Episode 22 was just horrible. I found myself cringing a lot watching it. | 4 | 23

291 | ![]() | Psycho-Pass Really inconsistent. Characters can be incompetent to the point it's ridiculous and their development is handled sloppily. But I'd loved the themes this show explores even if the handling of them isn't perfect. | 7 | 22

293 | ![]() | Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu The first half of the show was bad, but the second half was great (mainly because of episodes 13 to 18). Dialogues are my favorite part of the show if done right. I do like character writing for the most parts but I don't like how relationships are developed especially romantic ones. I don't give a shit about the Emilia-Subaru relationship and Rem-Subaru either. Comedic moments are just cringey for me and maudlin moments are cheesy and unnatural at times. | 6 | 25
