A compilation of anime that began airing during the month of January.

January is the first month of the Winter Anime Season, and in particular holds historical significance for being the month in which Astro Boy aired for the first time on Japanese Television on January 1st, 1963. The month is also notable for the anime debut of many long-running franchises including Detective Conan, Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu & Fate/Stay Night.

Series that I consider to be more than just a dumb animation.
(I could forget many series, especially the old ones)

Anime with romance as a main or relevant part of the plot, but also a "bigger plot" going on.

I'm talking actual romance, more than just "two characters happen to like each other". Something that is relevant, and ideally progresses through the show (note: also includes some incomplete adaptations with more romance past anime content).

As for the bigger plot, it can be anything from fantasy, adventure, mystery, sci-fi, etc. Check my notes for details.

Harem are mostly ignored as they are usually lacking in actual romantic progress, unless there is a clear main love interest.

Action based anime where the romance is mostly present or heavily implied

The lists come from many different sources, mostly blogs and forum polls, as well as a few lists made by critics, animators, and journalists. I used both old and new lists, and I avoided lists that focus on a single genre or a single decade.

The list is ranked by points. An anime receives points for each list it appears on. For polls, an anime receives points proportional to the number of votes, with weights adjusted to prevent individual polls from having too much influence. All anime in the top 100 appear on at least 5 lists.

A compilation of 136 anime bloggers' favorites

I do this Interest Stack for those like me like samurai fights, wars and that show a little of japan history and the different periods covered in each anime, this list was also based on the animes that I watched, there are other works of this genre but I haven't seen them yet I cannot recommend them here.

The Edo period (1603-1867) is a time in Japanese history characterized by economic growth, isolationist foreign policies, and popular enjoyment of arts and culture. The period derives its name from Edo (now Tokyo), where the shogunate was officially established by Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Just to clarify in case of doubt, the name of the stack is an homage to the channel of the same name(Imorrível) that was owned by both Alexandre and Vinicius, which no longer produces content, meanwhile, Jumentossauro, the channel in which the video that this stack is based on comes from, is solely belonging to Alexandre, with this video being a collab between the two.

We all like a mc who is strong from the start and somewhat op, but most of the time the story/plot of the show turns out to be overly cliched and boring. So I have tried to keep these things in mind while creating this. Also these anime are mostly under-rated and not your usual run of the mill.

A list filled with a wide variety of animes that’ll inflict emotions of some sort, whether it’s positive or negative (or perhaps even a mix of both). All the animes listed here are animes that has personally affected me, for better or for worse. I hope you can find something here that at least wouldn’t feel like another boring isekai and hopefully leaves some sort of lasting impact on your mind.
