On her way to meet friends for drinks, Kaoru Nagase suddenly collapses. While attempting to fix a distortion in the space-time continuum, the god managing Earth made a mistake that resulted in Kaoru's death. Fortunately, the god preserves her mind and soul, granting her a second chance at life in another world, Verny.

To make up for this divine error, Verny's goddess Celestine provides Kaoru with various blessings: a youthful body, proficiency in all languages, an item box with infinite storage, and—most importantly—the ability to spontaneously create any kind of potion, limited only by her imagination. However, her powers prove too advanced for a medieval world like Verny. As she tries to enjoy her new life and escape those who covet her abilities, Kaoru travels across different nations—but the bits of influence she leaves behind may soon amass into something out of control.

On the 5th and 6th of October 2025, I had the opportunity to watch this anime, and to be honest, it was a pretty captivating watch. I Shall Survive Using Potions! is an isekai that features a strong female protagonist, which right away gives it a slight edge over the rest of the typical isekai anime.

The common thread in isekai stories is that the lead character dies — but in this case, it is not an ordinary Truck-kun killed accident scenario 😅. The main character not only knows how the isekai works but is already a step above the rest, thus making it all the ... more entertaining for us to watch.

She is intelligent, wise, and most of all, incredibly sharp — the kind of person who can even strike a deal with the gods. Upon her arrival in the new world, she meets the goddess there and she smartly fools the goddess (or rather, through intelligent arguments, persuades her) into giving her some really powerful and rare blessings. The “gift of God” that she receives is the main reason why she acquires superpowers that not only make her life in the new world easier but also more entertaining.

The best part is that she is not the only one who sees the world in that way; the saga of her continual traveling from one town to another not only illustrates her attempts to overcome various new challenges but also her interaction and developments with new characters.

The story is quite straightforward—there's not an overwhelming main character or dazzling aura battles. The focus is on clever survival and the protagonist's sharp wit. The runtime is unhurried and it’s a type of anime that you can easily watch in a relaxed manner without anticipating a very high level of intensity or emotion.

To be honest, it doesn’t stand out among other works of art and at the same time, it is not a dull one. It is a light, innocent adventure that you can occasionally have without feeling sorry for yourself.

🎒 A one-time watch for isekai fans who like calm, smart protagonists and a chill adventure vibe.

Another anime from FUNA sensei light novel works (FSLNW) and indeed, it is basically 'saving 80000 gold in another world 2: electric boogaloo'.
Comparing both animes, we have:
a female MC of ages around 18-21 getting reincarnated as a 12-15 year old looking loli in another world that is way too similar to earth in middle ages of Europe and both isekai worlds not having magic in a common sense,
being very wise and intelligent but sometimes dumb enough to not use their cheat powers that are bestowed upon them by a certain god or goddess,
characters and world design building that is going more detailed than other off ... the shelf isekai animes (i guess this is a good thing? or bad?) but more detailed as in narrator-san and mechanics wise,
having cheat level powers and using them in intentional and unintentional ways to achieve their goals and sometimes thinking outside the box,

well, basically like that. in this anime we have a girl who can make potions out of thin air. she uses this to gain money, open shops, help poor people etc. and she is not afraid to be seen as a goddess or an angel (not figuratively, too).
The anime is made by Jumondo, the studio that often helped other studios in anime making, and also made "dont hurt me my healer" or "kono healer mendokusai" which was... i dont know. if you have watched it, you know it. this anime feels similar to that in terms of animation quality. not good. not worst.
i didn't really paid attention to op/ed, music, bgm, ost, etc. so i don't know.

But personally, I like FUNA sensei's female lead MC's. they are fun and unique in the anime region. if you like the other works of FUNA, which are "didnt I told you to make my abilities average" (mile chan, or adele von ascham) and "saving 80000 gold in another world" (mitsuha von yamano), you might as well like this one too.

There is notihng unique about this anime. it is basically saving 80000 gold in another world's second edition, or you could even call it an "alternate edition". But hey, if you liked those before, you might as well like this one too. just, don't expect a second season, and the manga is not that far away, so you'll end up in light novel reading sites hell.

Have you ever thought about your own stories when you were 9 y o?

Yes! This anime is the example

Oh, and I think with a little bit of pedophilia thrown in.

The story is not easy to guess, no, not because the story is great or anything, but I think it's beyond reason.

The plot is made unclearly, there are too many sudden changes, the characters' personalities are generally strange.

... But unfortunately, I always manage to finish anime like this because I don't have to use my mind to watch it.

I recommend you watch this when you just want to make sounds from your phone while doing something else.
