This is a curated list of anime related to MMORPG, Dating sims and not just limited to isekai. although is mostly comprised of isekai I have included some others stories that are very related to dating sims that dont have any stereotypical trope of dying or being summoned just a slice of life plain everyday going into school and meeting new people and doing day to day errands.

Anime that focus on a character marked as the villainess in a Japanese Dating Simulator game. In this kind of story, the villainess is made to reform, either through outside intervention, previewing a bad future, or someone else becoming the villainess herself. The subgenere has gained massive influence in the manga world on mixing Shoujou/Josei themes with Shounen/Seinen themes, meaning that there's often something for everyone whether it's comedy, intrigue, action, or romance.

This includes Shojo, BL, Seinen, and Shounen. Although Shounen and Seinen are usually targeted at a male audience, there are some shows which I think more attract a female audience instead ^^
Also some new shojo that will be airing over the next 1-2 years. I'm so happy that there are new shoujos / female-targeted series coming out instead of just more Shounen romance 😭.

Most of the anime, primarily shojo, feature the villainess trope. Set in European-type, high class settings.

90% of them seem to be a side branch of fantasy Isekai, getting reincarnated as a villain in otome games.

Animes where a heroine (mainly a villainess) knows she is going to get doomed but fights to change the ending.

Reincarnation into another world with a shoujo twist

Villainess redemption ... or revenge, I like them both. A second chance at life. Adventure and love in another world. This is isekai.

For people who are dead tired of MC's who are dumb as dirt with no competence in anything, only succeeding thanks to luck and "power of friendship".

This list features anime where protagonists are highly skilled, confident, or overpowered. Succeeding thanks to their own abilities first and foremost.

Includes both female and male protagonists. I don't discriminate. A kickass MC is a kickass MC.

I won't be adding sequels, only the first season. Characters and themes of the show don't usually change from one season to the next. In the rare cases they do, I will mention it.

You also won't find any non-Japanese anime here, unless there's a Japanese localized version. I need my anime to be in Japanese.

I am also not adding shows that I haven't fully completed myself, even if they might qualify. Also, a lot of shows are simply so mediocre or flat out terrible, that I would not wish to recommend them to anyone.
