On the day of the Final Judgment, when we all stand before God Almighty, He will show all mankind this anime on a big screen. Every human who ever lived will be there to see it. In eternity, where there is no time, all of those who did not watch this will assimilate it fully in what seems like an instant. Then the screaming will begin. Pleading and begging, the human souls will desperately try to justify the existence of this atrocity and will fail. The ground will split open and we will fall into the dark abyss, rejected and forsaken by God.

I started watching ... this thinking it would be an isekai-type anime. "What would life be like if you turned into a dog, retaining your memories of human life, and got adopted by your hot classmate crush?" doesn't sound so bad, right? Well... let's just say, if you like anime for the plot, better look elsewhere. Here, we only have "plot". Even the characters themselves have zero depth, they only exist to be lewded by the dog protagonist. If these people actually existed in real life, they would be in padded cells.

The episodes only have 12 minutes each, not counting the OP and ED which take a large chunk out of that — and are bad and annoying.

I can't even recommend this to ecchi lovers, but only a particular branch of that group: those who are into zoophilia/bestiality. If you are in this category, this anime is made for you. Then again, you might wanna read the manga instead, since the anime is apparently tamer in that regard: some scenes are cut or skipped entirely. For everyone else — the functional members of society — avoid this.

My Life as Inukai-san's Dog is an utter disaster. It is ugly, creepy, and downright painful to sit through. The jokes are weak, the plot is nonexistent, and the animation is bland and uninspired. Even for a 12-minute per episode ecchi it's awful. The characters are one-dimensional stereotypes, and each of them is unlikable. The first three episodes are filled with pandering, grotesque fetishes, contrivances, and cringeworthy ... attempts at humor. It is one of the worst ecchi ever made, and is not worth anyone's time. There is nudity in the uncensored version, but at what cost? Sexualizing romance between an animal and a human is beyond disgusting, and the execution is just horrific. In one of the most vile scenes, Inukai coerces the dog/boy into licking her toes by slamming her foot against a wall. Or perhaps the most repulsive part is in the second episode when Inukai gleefully watches the dog/boy pee. She takes pictures of him as he can do nothing but scream internally in anguish.

What a mortifying experience.

So from all that i gathered from the story so far, its about Pochita a guy who dies and turns into a dog. By the grace of the gods this boy or dog now was adopted by his highschool crush Inukai. The episodes of this series aren't that long, at least studio Quad save you the agony of sitting there and watching 22 mins of hot garbage. Even though 11 mins is still a nightmare to sit through. The characters are as blend as you expect them to be. Pochita is a horny guy inside ... a dog's body, Nekotani (Inukai's bestfriend) is a clutz who is scared of dogs and god forbid the main girl Inukai who seems to love her a dog very much, but wouldn't you say it's normal to love your pet (as you should do). Don't worry Inukai loves Pochita a lot but it seems that she 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐬 him, its concerning as her bond gets deeper with her dog every episode.

This show really nails the fact that Inukai is a straight up zoophilia, i dont know how any anime is getting away with showing Pochita sniffing cats (yeah not those cats) but this anime is becoming the hottest garbage of the year already and we're only in January.

Just do yourself a favor and find something more proactive in life than watching 11 mins of the most blend plotline that has come out in the past decade.

This anime is esssentially bringing one consensus message: WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY THINKING of making this show and bringing to the masses?

In reference, see HIDIVE's "glorious" (sic) synopsis: They say every dog has his day. That’s especially true for our protagonist, who was just turned into a dog and now lives every day under the care of his crush, Inukai-san! She happily dotes on her new companion, and while he wants to return to his human form someday, there’s something wonderful about being cared for by the person he loves. Now that's a decription, if you're feeling at the very least dodgy-doggy with a ... leash on your neck, living and breathing the life of an entity who lives to see the dream of girls being innocently vulnerable towards you, saying "This is Heaven!".

Never have I seen such polarizing works that earn the ire of the world in unison and in all of existence, not since The Promised Neverland's sequel season that completely abolished any hopes for the anime series as a whole. And this is what mangaka Itsutsuse chooses to give us: Inu ni Nattara Suki na Hito ni Hirowareta. a.k.a. My Life as Inukai-san's Dog., the season's most infamous adaptation that's nothing more than an oversized fetish of a dog smut manga. Jesus Christ, now I'm telling y'all: I don't know what the hell were they thinking when making the anime.

Now I know why people are calling this the rip-off Chainsaw Man, because the dog is literally named Pochita. I swear that I'm not kidding. He is helmed by 3 girls who float around his long belly boat: firstly, his owner the yandere Karen Inukai, whom before the mysterious transformation into a dog, was his crush, and being a dog is the next best thing of not resisting the charm of living the life as her dog of interest when she notices him as a stray dog on the street, only to feed it with her immense love and skinship. Secondly, the scaredy-dog Mike Nekotani of Inukai's childhood friend and Pochita's neighbour fame, which I actually find her scenes somewhat darn plain ecchi glorified, but decent and best. Thirdly, last but not least, is the legit childhood friend of Usagi Tsukishiro, with her being the same "girl teases boy because she likes him" trope, to the point of feelings thrown out for obsession. Personally, out of the 3, Nekotani is the one that I can click with, she's definitely the best of the worst of the entire show.

Being a somewhat relatively new studio, this is studio Quad's 2nd project, albeit a half-episode run format. And then I can tell you that like the first show it produced (Kaijin Kaihatsu-bu no Kuroitsu-san a.k.a Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department), it turned out mediocre to decent. But of course, for Inukai-san's case that it just looks like no effort was being done here, with the ecchi scenes amplified, because doggo or not, this is pretty much smut material, and like that genre itself filled with so much shit quality, I'm not surprised that it's just legit poop.

EVen the OST is somewhat meh. The character VAs' OP was acually both catchy and an entertaining song to boot, especially with the end-chorus portion. The EDs of various girls' versions, however, is just like mish-mashing anime and real-life counterparts, which I would praise the effort given, but this is not needed, really.

Yikes, if you're in for some of the most scantily clad smut material turned into anime, this is probably it. And once you've seen this, there is no going back of washing off that taintedness from your ears and eyes. This shouldn't be allowed to exist, yet it does.

I normally don't use this website to write any reviews (this is pretty much the first and maybe the only review I'll ever make), and I'm not a professional critic. However, I just felt like writing this, because Jesus Christ... I've never watched anything like this.

As a person who tries to stay open-minded, I try to watch as many different kinds of anime as I can. But being somebody who's only been watching anime consistently for a few years, Ecchi isn't a genre I've really dived into that much. Because of that, I decided to watch this, thinking it would just be a raunchy show ... about cute girls with the twist of it being from the point of view of the main girl's pet. And I mean yes, from a technical standpoint it does look like your standard ecchi anime, but then there's the plot. Let's just say that Inukai like dog's more than any normal person. She likes them too much. Waaaay too much.

I'm not a pet owner, but I do think that there are limits to what you should do with them (and even if I did own pets, I wouldn't condone Inukai-san's behavior towards her dog, because damn it's gross and unsettling). This show just goes too far, and it's pretty uncomfortable to sit through. But for some reason, I keep watching, maybe purely because of how shocked I am about this story's mere existence. Or maybe because this show manages to attract my morbid curiosity.
In the show's defense, I can say that they could've handled the subject matter in an even more explicit way, but thank god they didn't. I mean that goes without saying because I doubt this would've been aired if they had.

Either way, I'm still going to watch it out of pure morbid curiosity. I'll watch all 12 episodes, but damn it sure is gonna take a toll on my mental health.

A human has turned into a dog. How why what by whom we dont know that yet, we might never know that.

I was ready for extreme unsual things to happen in this anime because why not? In an anime where a human turns into a dog anything can happen. This dog guy happens to be adopted by the girl he likes. Ofcourse he was a pussy and he couldn't do anything when he was human and he won't be able to do anything now that he has turned into a dog. Except for one thing, our dog guy creates opportunities for ... stimulated watchers to witness the erotic scenes which unsually happens at the unexpected times. The unintentional sexual attacks made by our dog guy surprisingly arouses the girl and she enjoys it and desires for it again and again wtf. The main objective of this anime is to anyhow show the inside of girl's skirt and the anime does it's job well. Can't complain about the dog guy tho. Dude somehow turned into a dog and is living with a zoophile freak who forces him to lick toes, dude himself is traumatized. The problem is in female for not realising what position she is in and what she is doing. No disrespect to the people working on this show but now that I have already disliked so many aspects of this show I can't even think of it's good side because there isn't. The voice of inukai and pochita is irritating, animation is off the track sometimes Nekotani was so near to the door but still couldn't reach the door even after backing off 4 or 5 steps.

Just for the sake of knowing how my guy turned into a dog I'll stick with it till the end.

I have seen horror movies less horrifying than this. Truly. At first, an innocent viewer might start this show to experience a mid ecchi anime, but what this truly is, is a horror anime disguised as an ecchi anime, featuring one of the most deranged characters to every appear in the medium. This can especially be seen in scenes like the one where she exclaimed and requested the protagonist, Pochita, a dog, to "come home." I refuse to elaborate on what that piece of dialogue meant as I do not wish to be locked in level 7 of impel down. I've seen both the anime and the manga and never before in my life I had to ask myself, "What the fuck am I watching?" while reading or watching an anime. This shows screams "DEGENERACY" at you for every single second you find yourself watching it. Heck, this "anime" has ventured way too far into the hentai category. I'm surprised it isn't hentai. Every 5 minutes I had to recite "O Lord, repent me ... for my sins" while reading the manga to prevent my brain cells from spontaneous combustion.

Overall, very mixed reviews on this abomination. Cool and original idea I guess albeit executed horrendously. I mean, it has cute characters so yay?
Plot is inconsistent, hard to follow, and with so many sinkholes attached that I assure you cannot understand the anime until you read the manga.
Characters are very bland. This show and manga focuses too much on finding ways to make the general male audience get an unpleasant feeling in their pants and immediately look down between their crotch, and it unironically works.

This has got to be the worst piece of media I ever consumed.

The characters are shallow as frick (avoiding swearing since I don't want this to be taken down), the protagonist makes me extremely furious and the writing is a thousand times worse than any other Harem Comedy I've ever watched. Only watch this bullcrap if you have some sort of mistress/dog fetish, then you're gonna get fed well with this one.
Otherwise stay the frick away from this, it's incredibly uncomfortable to watch and the writing of the protagonist seems to be suffering here the most. You can't sympathize with that loser in any shape ... or form, because in one moment he will say "I won't look at these t*tties because I'm just a dog and that's messed up" and then we get a zoom-in shot of those said bags. He keeps fricking up everything and the only interesting thing about him are his memory flashbacks. That is the ONLY interesting thing about this anime. Getting the bits of info on HOW and WHY he turned/was turned into a dog. Those flashbacks happen from time to time but it's not worth watching the whole thing, ESPECIALLY because you'd have to read the manga to figure out, which is STILL on-going. Don't do this to yourselves, I beg of you. Spare your last few brain cells and watch something other trashy bs that AT LEAST has SOME form of dignity left and some mediocre writing. Cuz this is just migraine for your entire body.

None of the characters are likable and most are even dislikable. Nekotani is the ONLY character with common sense left and does NOT try to have s*x with a DOG. Unlike everyone else. Pinkie here has a crush on the dog cuz it reminds her of her actual human crush (ok? weird) and ice queen is #lonely #misunderstood #nofriends and is the crush of our main character (before and after he was turned into a dog). And, for some reason, ice queen only ever shows emotion when she's with her dog, in this case our protagonist. But no, it's not all innocent like a comfort pet or something, she ACTIVELY M*STURB*TES with her DOG. SHE IS DOWN FRICKING BAD FOR DOGS. AND THE THOUGHT OF THE DOG BEING HUMAN (Episode 12) TURNS HER OFF. I honestly can't feel bad for this woman (is she even of age?) as she's being established as this sweet girl with a dog fetish but then we learn that she's actually cold to every other living being on this planet, actively goes out of everyone's way because her butt does NOT want to interact with any human, she just wants her t*ts sucked by her pet dog. Said pet dog has no shame and his mf'ing tail is wagging at every suggestive moment. Bro won't stop trying to convince us that he isn't down bad for any of the chicks but in reality he is horrendously down bad. This part of his character, his dishonesty, is what makes him so dislikable. He would, ACTUALLY, be more enjoyable if he just embraced his new fetish life sometimes and says sh*t like "ngl this puss is bussin'" (the formulation is obviosuly a joke but you get the point) but instead he plays the victim the ENTIRE. I have never seen anything so appalling before. I went in watching blind, that was my first mistake. My second mistake was when I laid my eyes on the first episode, I thought this was already going to be a weird anime because he was reincarnated as a dog. But, I had hope that they would change it into something wholesome where we see the life of some teenage girl going through some drama in her life. But... sadly no. My third mistake was continuing and watching the entire series. I want to throw up.

May I present to you a very unexpected (and personally very horrible) anime for this season! Basically we have a perverted boy who turns into a dog, interesting premise already right? Well he gets picked up by his crush on the side of the road as a dog, now what do you think they do A) acts like a normal owner and pet and take care of one and another, or B) do they do some very questionable things with one another as owner and pet? If you guessed the first one? WELL YOU ... WOULD BE WRONG!!! I can't for the life of me find something good about this anime the only thing that is interesting is the premise of a human turning into a dog.

The only character I like is Nekotani she acts the most normal but I wouldn't be surprised if she turned out like Inukai later down the line. If you like your animals a little TOO much this anime is perfect for you but I would also recommend you to seek therapy if that's the case! Well thank you for coming to my anime review!

This anime is terrible. I watched this with my dog, and NEITHER of us enjoyed it. Also, my dog started looking at me funny (tail wag, blushing, etc) after this. Help. I am weirded out.

Anyway, my favorite character definitely has to be Inukai. She has an amazing PERSONALITY and is all around a very WELL-ROUNDED character. The way the story characterizes her as a caring individual who would go out of her way to bring a stray dog into her home really nails how amazing of a person she is.

Enough about Inukai, now onto the dog. The dog itself is a very nuanced and ... multi-layered character. He deals with conflict in almost every episode, many of which I myself can relate to.

Perhaps it is just a feeling of nostalgia, but My Life as Inukai's dog reminds me of the person I am. It gave me a sense of peace in realizing that I am me.

It is I, also a fellow degenerate, here to tell you today that this show is exactly how you thought it was going to be. Nothing but pure echhi goodness and tiny bit of bestiality thrown in there. I mean come on, the protagonist is a dog, what did you expect was going to happen? It is nothing more, nothing less.

The “plot” as it were, follows a high school student who get transformed into a cute dog. Don’t question how is that possible, it just happens. He gets picked up and taken home by a fellow classmate of his, the cold ... and distant Karen Inuki, who has taken a liking to him and opens up from her shell to pamper him. Despite that however, he is determined to get back home and get out of the predicament he’s in.

The show is very much exactly what it says on the tin, our protagonist is a dog and gets caught into some predicaments that justify the echhi tag, but it’s okay because he’s a cute dog, he’s innocent and just curious, even though he has full awareness of what he’s actually doing…kind of. This is because it’s more or less setup as accidental mistakes that leads us to the show’s ecchier moments, yet sometimes it is more forceful. It has the typical clichéd, “oops, I tripped onto something I shouldn’t have”, moment but it also has a “FULL THROTTLE, POW!”, moment to dive in head first and knowing exactly what’s going on.

The characters are basic stereotypes that are void of personality outside of those stereotypes because this show doesn’t have time to deliver character development, it must get to the fan service as quickly as possible. Each episode only lasts twelve minute and take away the OP and ED, it only lasts ten, so it has no time for unnecessary things, it must get to the good bits.

As for the animation, it’s solid. Studio Quad takes the reigns here who’s only other work was an underrated gem from last year, Miss Kuroitsu from the Monster Development Department, which going from that to this is something. As for this show in particular, it does the job that needs to do to deliver the echhi goodness. Although making it first person from our protagonist’s perspective for at least half of the episode’s runtime does make things interesting to say the least, especially for some scenes. As for sound, there isn’t anything interesting here. Nothing sticks out and isn’t really the main focus.

Listen, when you look at this show objectively, it’s s**t. It doesn’t do anything that can convince you otherwise and it is, unashamedly, an echhi series at its purest sense. On the other hand, because it has no shame for what it is, it is more enjoyable that way. It is, in essence, a pure degenerate show and the fact it is only half the runtime of a typical anime episode makes it short and snappy. Ecchi series I’ve have watched lately from previous seasons tend to drag when it doesn’t have anything of substance besides it’s echhi scenes. This one being shorter makes it easier to digest.

Look, you know what you are getting into when watching this, there is no denying that. Again we are fellow degenerates. We know what we want and as such, I only recommend it if you are just looking for some pure, ecchi, degenerate goodness with nothing else to bog down the experience. Which, to be fair, makes it more enjoyable than some other echhi shows lately.

Don't watch this with your family, friends, anyone. Even better, don't watch this at all! (I was dared by my friend to watch the whole thing, so I decided to write a review on this).

This really feels like a fantasy Shane Dawson would have wanted, but instead it's with a dog. This show is peak degeneracy for zoophiles and other weirdos. I don't know why anyone would recommend this anime to anyone, all it has done is make me question who has approved this for television media. It had no plot whatsoever, and I have no clue on why anyone can enjoy such a 'show', ... more like it should have put r18 sites; it is more suitable there.

There is nothing good to say about this anime other than its utter garbage.
