I actually confuse the two.

This idol anime is not your average idol anime as it can not only make you happy or entertained, but it can also make you sad and empathize with the characters. Since both are presented in an excellent setting with a remarkable reason, making them interesting than some other idol anime that follows a similar concept. I find both equally engaging as both feel special in their own way while containing similar aspects when it comes to their vibes, ambiance, and background.

Both shows obviously focus on music and groups of girls trying to become top idols. Idoly pride focuses on the internal and emotional struggle of the characters as well as their pride that comes from being an idol. The same struggles are evident in Wake Up, Girls, watching as the characters struggle to come to terms with their various past. Wake Up, Girls also parodies and follows at the time current Japanese idol trends.

One of the things that have become the center of attention for Idoly Pride is the re-emergence of an established idol tournament with an exciting live battle system, such as the Love Live tournament, namely the VENUS Program and the VENUS Grand Prix. What distinguishes, the opponents of the protagonists (Hoshimi Production, which later split into Sunny Peace and Tsuki no Tempest) will also fight 2 teams, namely TrinityAile (which is actually TrySail's "reincarnation" in this franchise) and LizNoir (an idol group that is also formed for this franchise, based on Sphere).

The older sister is the top idol while the younger sister is not, but OH NO some "accident" happened, making the older sister unable to sing. But don't worry we have a solution, comes the younger sister to save the day by becoming the top idol. While both differ in their atmospheric value, they are however completely identical when it comes to the plot. With both having quite a linear story, one will find both entertaining if they are into those kinds of stuff.

Although the base genres of the two anime are clearly different, the slice-of-life parts, the setting of the place (both Hoshimi Production and Lycoris Recoil Cafe), and the character compositions have obvious similarities. Not much different between Nagase Kotono and Takina, and Kawasaki Sakura and Chisato (especially after episode 5); Sakura and Chisato both have specials, while Kotono and Takina both have "dark and unlucky pasts"; In addition, Sakura and Chisato are described as cheerful people with high "emotional intelligence" tendencies and idealistic people, while Kotono and Takina have a tendency to be realistic and tend to be melancholic. The atmosphere in Hoshimi Production and  read more

Both Oshi no Ko and Idoly Pride has the similarities of the Main character's objectives on the first EPs.

This anime was similar to Idoly Pride in that the main character had someone else's (special) heart, which they had been using for a long time. The main characters Sakura Kawasaki had the heart of the popular idol Mana Nagase (who died on the day of the tragedy) replaced, which is why she learned to sing well. While she was singing in a voice other than her own, Mana Nagase could be a ghost (and only 2 people could see her). Later, Sakura Kawasaki decided to sing with her own voice. In the anime Tantei wa Mou, Shindeiru. Special Detective Siesta and Nagisa Natsunagi  read more

Both of them tell the story of a famous idol who died then turned into a ghost & helped the protagonist.

Basically its idol multimedia version ... Just change Menma with Mana, change Jintan with Makino, and change Super Peace Busters with Hoshimi Production. However, you will find new story forms here, such as the story about the Nagase sisters, and some like Angel Beats-styled story of Kawasaki Sakura ...

This idol anime is not your average idol anime as it can not only make you happy or entertained, but it can also make you sad and empathize with the characters. Because both are established in an exceptional setting with a unique premise, making them unique from any other idol anime that follows the same format. Plus, it is also an idol anime where the manager is given the same attention as the backup dancer. So, if you're ever looking for something innovative with a remarkable plot, then you might want to check these two out!

Tbh it's really hard to find any idol shows similar to "Gekidol" since this setting is really unique. But if you enjoy good music and a little bit more action than in normal CGDCT idol anime, you might consider "Idoly Pride". The plot and setting is definitely different, but both aren't tha "casual happy" idol anime we use to know. They really have a kinda dark side and not everything goes that smooth. The music in both are great, idol music are always there to brighten up your day. They are also from the same Winter 2021 season, so they aired at the same time. If you  read more

They both share the "Main girl wants to make her dream come true". To do so, both animes form an music "group" and perform in live stages. Both have rather simple and straightforward plot, can just laid back and enjoy! Though sometimes it can get a bit serious when it's really needed

Both are from Studio Lerche and feature the same director and sound director Both have supernatural elements Both mix CGDCT/idol-ish activity with heavier themes and have a more serious side World Dai Star feels like a spiritual successor to Idoly Pride with a theater story instead of idol business

Both anime about music and both have similarity with the male character dealing with the loss of their loved one, like Arima with his mother.

OG Idolm@ster has a lot more comedy and slice of life elements, while the story of Idoly Pride is much more serious. However, both shows share a heavy focus on idol industry / career development, agency competition, and in the latter half of Idolm@ster, interpersonal / character drama.

- Shows us several bonds of a group of girls having to strive in becoming idols. Having to start from strangers to close ones they'd then call 'family'. - They give off flashbacks of what each character had gone through in their tough times. Having to change, with the atmosphere of getting surrounded by their group of friends. - Art style are kinda similar (both show's come from different studios) Personally, i would prefer 'idoly pride' more than the other. But that depends on your taste ;). Aight, imma yeet- ( ͡⚆ ͜ʖ ͡⚆)
