You know sometime when you're watching/reading something, what's under your eyes is so unexplainable that you feel the sudden urge to say "What kind of drug were they taking ?!"

... Here, more than a lot of things I watched, that is definitively what's coming to my mind.

It's not some kind of psychological bullshit with deep meaning behind, it is just a total wreck of a story...

We already got a "bath OVA", and now it was time for the "beach OVA", but as the previous one could easily being put at some point of the timeline, and without being great, was kinda enjoyable, this one is just a succession of dubious clichés... With in the end no actual link to the plot or whatsoever.

It feels like watching a very bad parody, althougth it is not.

Yeah, there is 2-3 funny jokes in the whole 26 min of content, but most of the time you'll just cringe and repeatedly say "WTF !!" whenever something new happens.

I understand that sometimes the cast and production just want to have fun, but it's normally under the form of a drama CD or some kind of "chibi low quality" bonus, not a fully animated 26 min long bullshit...

In the end, it doesn't respect the original style/vibe of the series, which can have "fan service" (at this point I don't know what kind of "fan" it is serving) moments without going so far, nor add something to the whole series' story (considering the total unclear ending...), so it just feels like a waste of time and budget from the studio and production comity...

At least we didn't have to pay for this for us watching it on a legal streaming platform...

Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka II OVA starts off pretty usual for Danmachi OVA's where instead of a hot springs, Bell and crew are in "Paradise Island" where rare herbs are bountiful for the picking, however things don't seem right...

For the first half of this OVA at least it's your fanservice in a beach episode, mainly from Hestia, Liliruca and Haruhime with Mikoto getting in on the action and it's your typical swimsuit fanservice and with all the harem hijinks that entails with it what with Hestia vs. Liliruca to Haruhime's closeted pervertedness coming ... in. The fanservice was mildly servicable with the fanservice ranging mostly on the swimsuits to just some ummm "odd choices".

It's not until Ais comes in is when it REALLY starts to going in a crazy fever dream direction and like a fever dream, things goes insane and like insanity....insanity is something you do over and over again and expect and different result and ohh boy with that ending and to Bell's as well as the rest of cast's fate is unknown. If anything this reminds LA heavily of Highschool of the Dead's OVA...lighter but with a sinisterly "bad ending" vibe to it.

The animation done by JC Staff was pretty much consistent from it's second season so not much to point out there and the fanservice wasn't risque per say, just ehhh to decent swimsuit fanservice.

As for the voice cast, LA thought there was something odd with the voice direction with this OVA and man does it show as the OVA kept going, almost self awareness from the VA's especially Saori Hayami as Ryu. The standout VA's to this OVA was probably Saori Hayami and Inori Minase though the majority of the VA's in this OVA seemed to and sounded like they had fun with this OVA.

Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka II OVA is much like the first season's OVA, but where the first season's OVA was a pure hot springs fanservice with harem hijinks, this OVA on the other hand was an off-kilter beach fanservice with harem hijinks that goes off it's rocker the further you watch it and that ending..............makes this OVA...weird.

its really fun to see them having fun and joking with each other. With a story devoted to this, this is the perfect ova. The storyline is easy to understand, fun, beautiful scenery, and of course fan service. Everyone shows what they have here, they are competing to be the best. One thing that I really appreciate is that the animations are really good making the scenery really beautiful. And they really do a wonderful job in detail. Everything looks amazing and attractive, and the appearance is absolutely perfect. Their swimwear is simple but nice and creative, unlike swimwear in general.

It's another anime OVA beach episode, similar to the last season's. According to MAL-Sync the source of this OVA is from the light novels, and I'm not sure which one because I've been reading volume 14 in the series and haven't stumbled upon a beach scene, maybe it's in the spin-off?

Overall it's a goofy OVA, you can't take it serious.

MyAnimeList has told me to enter a longer review, so a longer review I will give.

I first discovered the Danmachi series back when season 1 was being aired, and I was quite a fan. A goofy (slightly raunchy) take on ... the fantasy world, it's been done before and will never stop being done. I enjoyed the mixture of geek mythology since as a child I had read the Percy Jackson book series.
Last spring I had started reading the light novels on my e-reader, and I had realized the amount of detail which was missing in the anime adaptation. As stated above the "source" is the light novel series, the same series which I am reading right now. I might've missed this scene but overall this OVA is just a goofy and fan service episode.

My overall score is a 6, or Fair, which is the perfect description for this OVA in my opinion. You can't take it too seriously and just let the silly charm take over your mind, body and soul. I'm no serious critic, I don't care about reading into the voice acting performance, sound design or art styles. If I enjoy something I will enjoy it as simply as that. That is how this OVA is, quite enjoyable. The ending left me wanting to know more "What happened?" "What now?" Questions just kept taking over my mind for minutes as the credits were rolling.

27 minutes of pure bliss, and I hope the entire staff had the same amount of fun producing this OVA because I had quite the fun laughing to another ecchi comedy.

What the fuck is this? Seriously, what the developers thought to make this ova so horrible where the only thing they achieved was to stain even more the anime that from the movie was decaying a lot in all aspects.
If the second season was already a very mediocre and boring season, I do not understand the goal of getting an ova, for more full of fanservice. Horrible I have another word for this garbage, they damaged how little good the anime had left, that yes, it is an ova and has no relation to the story as such, but even so it already gives ... you an idea of ​​what could come in the third season.
Nor will I talk about the ova itself that is not worth it, it's just the typical fanservice ova, but done in the most horrifying way possible. The 23 worst wasted minutes of my life.

Bruh what the fuck kind of drugs did I take before watching this? I must say I haven't thoroughly enjoyed an OVA like that in quite a while. The first 20 minutes are normal and then everything kinda goes to shit. I enjoy that though. Just watch it, you won't regret it. Or maybe you will, who knows? Beach episodes typically are just the producers trying to give fanservice but in this case, I think they just snorted some cocaine and tried their very best. I sure haven't seen one like this before but I guess I could compare it to Beauty and the Beach ... from Digimon. 10/10 would watch again

Well, this is an unusual OVA storyline. Typical beach episode kind of but not so much. It takes a wacky side note that leads to it being pretty funny. If you are of a weak constitution be prepared for the Sea Cucumber.

The OVA has pretty ecchi scenes in it which in itself is not bad. The show does also give Ais Wallenstein in a new light which is nice to see. Considering she usually speaks very softly it is great to see a difference in her voice even if it is related ... to the reason for the weirdness of the OVA. It has little development but that is made clear to why as per the episode.

As far as an OVA goes it is a very good one. It has a funny romance, as usual, weird situations and some ecchi.

This OVA is absolutely irrelevant to the rest of the series. It pokes fun at fanservice and has the most hilariously awful plot. When it ended I just sat there with that feeling you get after you wake up from a strange dream and you're going over what you just experienced because if you don't, it feels like you'll lose it forever. It's certainly something I won't forget.

If you're actually wondering if you should or shouldn't take this OVA seriously you need to watch/rewatch the scene where one of the characters is talking into a banana next to one of the other characters ... while she's changing into her swimsuit (not caring about being seen stark naked) and the man with the banana starts aggressively pointing downwards in an attempt to get the camera man take a shot with her crotch in it. In my opinion (I mean obviously this is my review LOL) this is a successful parody.

hi I'm writing this review for 2 reasons 1 I love the series can't wait for season 3 and the second reason is I have homework and I don't feel like doing them lmfao anyway focusing on the review

The story is not the best I scored it a 4/10 which is decent is scored it like this cuz I don't know what the fuck happened like I really don't know I feel like they could have done better bet considering that is just an ova and they are not related to the story itself this ova was a little confusing so yeah that's ... about it

as for the art, I scored it an 8/10 it was really good considering that this was an ova and we did not have any fight scenes so yeah I really liked the art and seeing more of Aiz and Haruhime was so good lmfao and we have already had a lot of Hestia and Lil so yeah well wanted to see more of Mikoto the did her dirty in this ova liked her more in the first one

the sound was good there were one or two moments that I got confused by it by overall I scored it an 8/10 it was really good not much going on tho

as for the character, there was not anything of the matter it's just an ova not much of character development here scored it a 4/10

as for enjoyment is scored it an 8/10 I liked it it was chill and gave me the summer vibes lmfao I would recommend it if you have been watching a lot of fighting animes recently like me I really loved it and I don't regret watching it

All things considered the overall score I give it a 6/10 I know I'm generous would have given it a 5/10 but thats my love for the series and It really makes me happy when I see some of it its a good way for me to get away for anxiety and stress lmfao the only thing that I want to see in the future is the producers give a little more effort on the story well thats all thank you for reading this :)))

This is one of those times where I saw a bunch of 1 star reviews for something and thought "well it can't possibly be that bad-"

It is.

It's actually even worse than people are saying.

Somehow this OVA took the concept of a beach episode (which is already pretty cliché) and made it worse. Despite being 26 minutes long, only the first 5 minutes of this OVA could be considered an actual story. The Hestia Familia goes to a beach and shows off their swimsuits in a bid for Bell's attention (despite Hestia having said she has changed her ... tune at the end of season 2), and that's pretty much where this OVA should've ended. But instead, it goes on a nonsensical, overly repetitive, logic destroying series of unrelated events that simply waste your time.

My theory is that this episode is made up of all of the unused backdrops and animation cycles that were left out of season 2. It honestly feels like a beach episode was cut from the original series itself and then the studio scrounged up 20 more minutes of repetitive stock footage and tried their best attempt to create a story out of it. There is no regard for plot, continuity, character accuracy, or even a fitting conclusion. It just gets weirder and weirder until it writes itself into a corner that resolves with the "it was all a dream" ending. OR WAS IT? (No I'm not kidding, they actually hit you with the "was the dream REAL??" cliché too)

If you have any fondness for Danmachi at all, do yourself a favor and remove this OVA from your memory right now. Despite being non-canonical, it somehow manages to completely destroy the original story in such a way that it will haunt you. Don't even watch this for some kind of ironic enjoyment, because it's not there. Unless you think watching the same beach tide footage, flying crane footage, and poking sea cucumber footage 18 times each is funny, you will only come out of this OVA feeling like you are now dumber for having seen it.

I have no idea what the f*ck this was, i got intrigued by the flower showing them what they wanted and then when they got connected thru a fungus but then it seemed like the writers didnt know what to do with the story they had setup and decided to say that it was all a dream except... The setup was sooooo good but then they werent able to deliver on anything, which made me really dissapointed and confused.

how much longer of a review do i need to write. the reason for me almost never reading reviews is ... the fact that all of them are about 900 words and at that point i`ll reather just watch the anime.

I didn't see the reviews till after I saw this ova... let me just say if you're seeing my review then odds are you've seen the top reviews, maybe you even saw the scores are very mixed for this ova, add another because my score is a new one not yet done for this ova for the reviews here. Anyway, the ova, there's a few things you should know if you plan to watch this.

Its its own story, none of it is canon, it also doesn't take itself seriously at all. That brings me too... ever hear of parody and fan service? Of course you ... have, but this ova takes both of those and takes it to, uhh, somewhere, lets just say its, special. For the fan service its cringe and uncomfortable, I really disliked this which is the 1st half of the ova, the 2nd half takes on a drug trip plot and yes the 1st and 2nd half are the same story, you'll know you've reached the 2nd half when the sword princess appears. :)

Because this is a parody of sorts, characters do not act in the same manner you expect them too. (also due to the fan service but I digress) some enjoyment can be had from this ova but it really depends on each person, this is why you're seeing so many mixed scores and why despite the top review saying to stay away from this and don't watch it, I say otherwise and the score is not too low (Granted a 6 rating isn't exactly high but its not WORST anime ever territory either and ovas tend to be around a 5-7 anyway) as to whether YOU will enjoy this, I honestly can't say, I didn't the 1st half, but the 2nd half I enjoyed despite the near no sense plot and what ever the heck it was I just saw. So, with that said let me give you the scores so you can better know how I personally feel about whatever the heck this ova is lol

I saw this English dubbed and I was able to have some enjoyment from this ova but, this isn't something I normally would care for at all, i just found a few jokes and a few moments to be enjoyable, which is why I rated the anime so high. Maybe YOU will rate it higher than me, or perhaps lower, give it a watch and see if ya like it or not, or don't, up to you really :)

I am a huge fan of this series and can usually put up with casual fanservice beach episodes without making a scene, however this goes beyond the concept of fanservice and straight into the realm of questioning why this even exists in the first place.

Absolutely nothing happened that contributed to the story. I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt and had a sliver of hope that something would remain relevant to the plot of the 3rd season, but even after finishing the 3rd season absolutely nothing carried forward. I laughed a little so I gave it a 3, ... I suppose.

You will have no regrets skipping this.

This is an absolute horrible OVA. I can't believe I wasted my 24 minutes for this thing. The comedy in this episode is overused, instead of being funny most of the scenes are so cringe and just a shitload of lame ass jokes.

Watching this made my enthusiasm to watch S3 go to waste. The previous OVA looks like a masterpiece if you will compare to this OVA that's how its looks like for me. Kinda bit happy because my girl Ryuu is here again wearing her bloomers is just the best!

1 point for Ryuu and the other 1 point is for the ... visuals and fanservices. Trust the other review here don't watch this if you don't mind losing many of your braincells. The cringe and lameness of the jokes will kill your mood and your enthusiasm to watch another anime.

Danmachi is a semi-alright series, with some flaws, and a fuck load of tits; the OVA after the first season of Danmachi is acceptable... but this... this isn't it chief. This isn't a good example, now, I don't write reviews. I put my consensus on the notes part of my anime list, not write a full on 500+ character review about an anime series (or OVA).

I like beach episodes and OVAs in an anime as much as the other guy, and when I found out that this OVA was a thing. At first glance, I thought "Well, considering there's a new character who is literally ... a kitsune prostitute thing. There will not just be tits galore because it's on a beach and bikinis are a thing, but I guess there will be some like element of seduction."; but not outright stupidity from pretty much every character.

I have no clue how I watched all the way through that, but that was the worst OVA ever. Do not watch this OVA at all costs, even if you're a Danmachi super fan, do not watch it. You will hate it. I thank god every night that this is not canon to the series, because if it was. Season 3 would not be on my radar and I would avoid that shit at all costs.

Now, I do not like saying the word "cringe", but this is literally cringe. The jokes are cringe, I didn't laugh at it. If anything, just them constantly saying "Barbeque!" or "Ew, it's a Sea Cucumber, gross!" over and over again enrages me.
