Ochikobore Fruit Tart

Ochikobore Fruit Tart, or as I am going to call it for the sake of this review, Idol Dropout is the story of a failing group of Idols. From the episodes I've seen so far, the story seems kind of generic and bland which makes me question why I keep coming back to it every week. I've seen a couple of idol anime and this one by far stands out the least.

I will continue to stick with this anime until the end to see if it gets any better, and if it does, I will update this review, otherwise heres a list of other idol ... anime's you can get far more enjoyment out of.

-Girlish Number, this one is by far the closest to idol dropout in the way where its a story about a failing idol group, but girlish numbers characters stand out much more and the story is more entertaining

-White Album, a darker story about the idol industry

-SoniAni: Supersonico the animation, a story a college student who loves being a model and making music

Great, another cute girl idol show.
It's a pretty generic show in general, but the girls aren't that bad. Compared to other CGDCT shows this one features a cast of characters that aren't just literal one liners. The main problem I have is the whimsical and lack of drive and ambition that should be present in a group of girls that are grasping at their last straw for popularity. This goes for any idol anime in general, to be honest. It's like this show slammed the story of being an idol into a slice of life CGDCT show, and as such, it's a flawed concept. ...
Art is honestly, terrible. They do the side mouth thing way too often, and the animation in the mouths in general are just very below average. It's like that pop cat meme, where when a character talks, it's like their mouths open super and and shut tight instantly. Their noses are strangely tilted extremely upward when viewed in a side angle. Their nose is almost parallel in angle to their forehead. There's just a lot of cut corners, but I guess the dancing isn't CGI'd so that's good, at least.
Overall, I just wish the idea behind being and idol was more serious and less of a predetermined thing where they would show success.
