Each of the following are one of the most popular anime set in or heavily inspired by an associated Japanese prefecture. They are ordered from Hokkaido to Okinawa (roughly north to south).

1. Cast is all-girl
2. Not in the romance genre*
3. Only Slice of life shows[so no action/battle shows].


Split up in multiple parts due to number of entries.

Pretty self explanatory. Anime that takes place in a countryside (or someplace desolate). Some of which are not necessarily what you would call a "countryside", like Harukana Receive and Zombieland saga, but it has that feel to it.

Summer means joy, sea, beach, swimming, sports, bright colors and of course friends!
And why not with a little action and sadness sometimes?

Various sports compiled into one list of anime. If there are multiple TV-series with the same sport, be warned I just chose the one with a higher popularity. However, there are most definitely other sports anime you should check out such as Slam Dunk, Megalo Box, Ahiru no Sora, Tennis no Ouji-same, All Out!!, Ashita no Joe, Major, Ryman’s Club, Blue Lock, etc.

Yeah, we get it. You wanna ship two guys together. Well then, what about we make a twist on that for once, and ship two girls together that aren’t cannon? I mean, they’re hot and they look nice together, so why not? These entries are compiled up of series where it’s CGDCT or where two girls are close to each other and often think about each other.

A list of anime that I find relaxing and perfect to watch after work. No focus needed, just sit down and enjoy the calm moments.


The list is obviously subjective. Your taste might differ and that's totally fine.

In this stack each prefecture will have only one representative and the direction will be by the Japanese ISO (ISO 3166-2:JP).

The works chosen are personal choices, so it doesn't mean that the anime will be the highest representation of that region.
