Konbini Kareshi

When I watch an anime, I seldom/never care about the art or graphics. But this anime compels me to mention that it has great graphics (at least in my eyes), and the cast of many famous seiyuu in a single series was the motivating factor for me to pick this up, despite the synopsis that screamed 'TYPICAL' as I looked it up online. As bonus, I was delighted to hear Kugimiya Rie not in her typical tsundere voice (I find this rare). But still, this is completely mitigated by the lack of originality in this anime.

It's a slice of life focusing on high school ... romance, revolving around four characters; two guys and two girls, where the guys beat about the bush in every episode (at least, so far for the main guy) and the girls were oblivious to their feelings. To top the cliche, one of the couples were childhood friends and the guy realized the girl's existence in high school, so he started to hang around her like a closet pervert hoping to confess someday. Like, come on. What's gonna happen next? Main girl dies in the end like in some K-drama soap? *coughyourlieinaprilcough*

Every episode felt like watching paint dry for eternity. Even Boys Be isn't as bad as this.

i have never written a review for an anime before. but this one was so lacking in everything that i feel the need to write one to save someone else time from watching this
the title and summary are misleading. the main protag isn't even the focus of the plot most of the time and there's not even '6 mains characters' that it focuses on. everything was open ended and i found myself struggling to want to finish it. every episode left me so bored and uninterested. i wish this actually SHOWED romance rather than TELLING me. there was also a pointless incest couple that showed ... up for zero reason for one episode who were never metioned again. i hated everything about this show

Konibini Kareshi seems quite outwardly to be a pretty cliche adaptation of a manga that just missed its mark. Nothing really stands out other than a few express moments, and I found myself not even paying attention for long spans. Not only that but three episodes in, I realized I didn't even know the characters names. I feel like this could have been a great romance show, but because of how it was directed, everything comes off so weird and out of place. Every shot seemed kinda lazy and lingered a bit too long, and the characters were so confused, the writing made no sense. ... Needless to say, there was at least one moment where I actually laughed genuinely because of how out of place the humor was and it was too perfect. I think some people could enjoy this show, but it failed to keep me glued to the screen long enough to remember the main characters names. And that is why I can't enjoy it.

Nothing special, really. Its just like other same typical romance and slice-of-life anime but its just... boring i would say but the art, visual, and graphic is decent. People would expect the story would developed around the konbini since its literally the show's name but nope. Main male characters already dull and they make the main female characters basically with no expression (there is expression, its kinda hard for me to explain this one, but you'll know what i mean), and poof just like that it ends, nothing really special happened between the couple, your reaction the entire series will be like "okay" thats it.

I did not enjoy how most of the characters pushed a girl to be friends with a guy who she repeatedly said made her uncomfortable, just because other people thought he was a "nice guy". They all act like she is obligated to be friends with him just because he likes her. He pursues her relentlessly with no regard for her feelings after she repeatedly asked him to stop and to leave her alone. It's pretty unbearable to watch how everyone completely disregards her feelings. I am currently halfway through and it seems like they are going to write it off as she actually likes ... him and was just lacking confidence, but it is so unrealistic and sends such a terrible message.

I've never write a review for an anime, but I feel I need to at least do something with the time I invested watching this one.

Being honest, I watched it because of a clip I found on YouTube of a fanny moment and I thought "oh it seems good"... But it wasn't.

Let me start. Since the beginning I felt the story was a bit off. I felt the expressions of the characters were not complete, they didn't match with what was happening or what they were saying. I know some animes like to keep the viewer thinking and making you infer what the characters ... is thinking rather than explaining it to you. But half of the time with this story I was like totally lost. Or it could be just my ADHD making me lose focus but I just got lost SO many times because I didn't understood what was happening.

Part of the problem for me also, was that on the opening they show you like six couples and we end up stuck with just the 2 that are the more predictable ones. I really wanted to see how the story of the other couples was going to be developed, but it never happened.

It was so inconclusive in so many aspects. The only episode I got really excited was when they explain the title of the series, and I got there just because I didn't wanted to have another anime dropped on my list, it wasn't like they had build up enough excitement for me to be looking for that moment.
Even the most important thing of the story was ruined by the most cliche thing in romance/drama anime!!

They had such good things to work with, but I feel they didn't developed the couples and characters properly. It could have been a great series.

To finish my review, I have to say I was just so disappointed with the ending, that I thought there was an episode 13.
