If you're watching this, make sure to watch the main anime:
Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge or Tanaka-kun is always Listless.
The characters are very fun to watch, even in these 30 second episodes because it shows a little more about them than the main series, seeing as that focuses mainly on Tanaka-kun, which is given seeing as his name is in the title.
It also shows that these characters life can go on without Tanaka, which some anime's have a hard time doing. I mean yes, their lives were a bit altered (like Ohta's) but that doesn't mean that if Tanaka were to leave, they
wouldn't be able to live without them.
What I'm trying to say is, that this mini-series does good in establishing how these characters are without Tanaka, while also being affected by him.
I'm sorry, I'm bad at explaining things.
Anyways, I think the artstyle is very cute and unique because it just looks so simplistic, which compliments the main characters' personality a lot.
In this mini-series, there is also no plotline, which is okay because they're little shorts that don't need a plotline, and it's made up by the characters.
(Also, if this Review is bad, it's because this is my first review of an anime.)
plain, simple and boring. Stories that are marketed as comedies or have kind hearted music tend to be upbeat. Here the main character doesn't really care for anything aside slumber. Yes, the pain is easily relatable but the approaches he goes to deal with his every day issues are pointless and foolish. For example this not in the show but say you had just washed your hands. Your hands still are wet. However, no towels or paper of any sort can be found. Your clothes are pristine, so rubbing it on you is out of the question. You decide to wave your hands back
and forth as if waving to a person who is invisible. When you could used that same energy walking to find something to dry your hands. Also, you know how yawns are contagious if the main character acts tired how do you think you will feel? Sad? Angry? Or tired? I think it is clear which.
going from the cover shot it is a clear disappointment. cover picture is more realistically drawn. As for the actual show it is in cartoon form. Also, i know some shows like to go for missing facial features like nose or mouth but in some scenes talking can be done but the artists wont take the extra few moments to draw/animate mouth features.
Sound- no comment
With such a short time per episodes it is hard to add in a proper character background so i will say it is okay and leave it at that.
Stressed for time? need a quick laugh? look no further. Here you will find some mild amusement to common issues regardless of gender. Although, luster lacks here.
These are just shorts for the main anime "Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge" which is also a very good anime worth watching. I liked these because they were random and funny, which is nice, but also entertaining.
This little section of the anime series is something quick to watch after watching the main anime (12 episodes) the specials (7 episodes). Even though they are not as popular as the main anime probably, and the main anime is not very popular either, if you liked and watched the anime before, these are fun little episodes to watch as a little short continuation. These, by the way, are
each between around 20-30 seconds long. Will take you about maybe 1 22 min episode to watch all of them. Not long at all.
(My personal favorites, because they are funny, are episodes 13, 19, and 22. They are all about funny ideas to try and improve life)
