The same supernatural anime where ordinary character one day finds him/herself getting involved with some supernatural mess that changes his/her life.

These shows both contain modern day characters who link with certain historical figures or time periods and then weaponize them. They are both similarly cavalier about the accuracy of the history in question. They are both super stupid, but in kind of a fun way.

-Both anime are pretty similar, the start is pretty weird and you cant understand what is going on and why and as the story goes you learn more stuff. -Both anime have a dark theme and some characters are somewhat crazy in the head and psycopaths. -Both MCs gain some unique power and are thrown in a bloody "war" -Both anime almost always from the start to the end make no sense and leaves you confused. -Both main characters are unique in a sense and somewhat soft to be part of the new world of blood they are thrown in.

In both you have no idea what the hell is going on throughout the episodes, and as they try to cover up plot holes and clear up confusion it gets even more confusing. Both are pretty dark animes with darker colors. ALso deaths.... many many deaths... Setting and characters are different tho

It's a "battle royale" similar to the Fate series (all sourced from visual novels too)! But keep in mind, the studios that adapted these were fairly new to the production scene at the time of making.
