The heroines feel very alike, in both appearance and behavior, and the series are developed in a slow-paced slice of life manner. The stories speak about the hidden, magical (but not necessarily happy) side of things. While Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto is about magicians, Haibane Renmei is about angels.

The main character is a special girl who meets many people who request her help to resolve their problems. The two shows tend to be episodic, with many minor characters who appear only one episode.

These two series invoke a serene and peaceful feeling with a slow, gentle kind of story. While Someday's Dreamers contains magic, it's very minimal and not remotely battle-oriented. Both series are about the protagonists meeting and helping different people while learning more about themselves. They both contain valuable life lessons that are revealed to the viewers and the other characters within the series. Their similarity is strikingly strong and if you enjoy one you'll enjoy the other.

The fact that the main character in both anime tries to help others overcome usually emotional issues makes both series very similar. Both are of the fantasy genre with magic here and there.

Both series feature a young magic user becoming an apprentice, learning to be independent, and growing as a person. Both have a relaxing feel with characters that warm your heart.

These shows remind me of one another not only because they feature magic, but because they use magic as a symbol for the characters' inner beauty and strength. The characters leave their homes, become independent, find a mentor, develop friendships, help others and we see them grow from each experience. Without the fantastical aspects, these shows feature relatable and believable experiences of growing up.

Both are magic-users learning to deal with their magic. While Artiswitch is a bit darkers, Someday's Dreamers is a bit more light hearted

While differently presented, both series follows a slow paced rhythm. The season that both series takes place in reflects a summer atmosphere that is hot, moist, and slow. Both series has a slice of life feeling abut at the same time has a little supernatural element added to the mix. Both series' main female protagonist also has a goal in her life along with their friends.

A kind slow paced slice of life anime about a girl who helps people with her supernatural powers. On the one hand she's learning how to use her supernatural powers and on the other hand she's just the ordinary girl. She has a mentor who helps her to conciliate this parts of her personality. This anime is more like fairy tale than fantasy.

While the two have completely unrelated stories and the magic being shown, both have the same concept. Mages offer their service for a payment in return. If you don't get enough of Someday's Dreamers, pick up Rental Magica for more action comedy.
