The Edo period (1603-1867) is a time in Japanese history characterized by economic growth, isolationist foreign policies, and popular enjoyment of arts and culture. The period derives its name from Edo (now Tokyo), where the shogunate was officially established by Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Anime that can be classified as "edgy", but not in the usual sense (childish and pretensious). These anime have slick styles and aesthetics, you could say they have an edge. Their art usually resembles graphic novels and street art and are overall very stylish. That also echoes on their plots, generally pretty dynamic and fast-paced. That's this kind of edgy.

This is a list of all the anime shows that aired on Animax (Portugal). A defunct portuguese channel dedicated to all things anime.

This list is a top 100 anime from YouTube Channel watchmojo.

In this stack I will present the tv animes that have been the kings and crowned of their respective seasons.
I will count the series that have been released from the year 2000 onwards, for now I leave you the first part that counts until 2011, when I can I will bring the second batch that would count until 2022 and (if I am still active at that time) I will update with the animes of 2023.

My favorite kind of anime.

anime with main characters going through new adventures - meeting new people - going new places each episode with their respective story and conclusion while the main plot is flowing withing to a purpose or a goal

Toonami was a block in Cartoon Network Latin America created in 2002 mostly dedicated to anime, which served as the main hub of the medium in LatAm TV until its cancellation in 2007. After the block's death, anime slowly became a rarity in Cartoon Network Latin America, slowly disappear from LatAm airwaves until becoming all but extinct, with very few airing across the 2010s.

Toonami was revived in 2020 with Crunchyroll's support to air more anime in the channel, but the block would eventually die again in 2022 after Sony bought the streamer, ending its deal with Cartoon Network. Wanner Channel's Wanime block was born as a spiritual successor shortly afterwards.

That second death was not to last, as the new channel Adult Swim announced they would bring back Toonami as part of its schedule, with the Wanime block holding on until 2024 in wait of its return the same year.

Note: For obvious reasons, all Western series aired in the block, such as Justice League, won't be included in this stack.
