Suki na Mono wa Suki Dakara Shou ga Nai!!

Ok to state my first point is that my experience in Yaoi anime is small but i do enjoy them mostly on the same level as any other. As an example this anime has its fun and interesting points but it also has its confusing parts and unnecessary

I mean as a conspect i found this anime interesting in a sence i like the idea about the different personalities loving eachother but what broke it for me on some points was the execution of the story. Its like when you watch those drama anime there they just throw random information as you expecting you to ... forget its flaws because we got what you want. Although the story is something that for me pulled it badly down i liked how everything was drawn and the characters in it. Problem again was with how they were how good lovers the consept and the story were which wasnt good.

I mean im guessing for a yaoi fan this anime atleast got the half naked good looking guys and guys that looks like girls but as someone who likes these types of animes because of how pure and good they can be i kinda became dissapointed as the anime went on.

The two characters with different personalities i liked and the way they acted between themselves was fun to watch so i havent much to say against that.
Hashiba with his almost feminine personality who gets all flustred is interesting while at the same time he can be manly and protect his "maid" in need of help.
While Fujimori is the same that hes manly yet a very delicate personality which is shown even more as he interacts with hashiba. And both their other personalities has their own quirk which i think is more fun for the one who will watch this to read.

All in all i enjoyed it but the confusing and randomness of the story at times put me off and i felt like this anime could be a longer one to express it and show it. Its kinda like things just happens then its calms down then it happens again. U feel like you want to know more or that there could be done more with it.

So overall i gave it a 6 because i liked the consept but the story that came from it wasnt on the level of it.

This is one of the few yaoi animes I have watched, so honestly I thought this was pretty entertaining. You start out with Sora apparently losing his memories from falling four stories. Although, I don't see how he wasn't seriously injured in the fall and the anime does explain later on why this happened.
Story:
I thought this was the best part of the anime. You meet the two main characters and learn that they did know each other in the past. You also learn why Fujimori has a grudge against him, the fact that he left him ... behind in the place they were experimented on. To me, the ending was the best part. Fujimori left him behind for a while and then, Sora comes in and their past is basically replayed. Except this time he makes sure Fujimori is with him. Sorry, I just couldn't help writing those parts for those of you that didn't want to read spoilers.
Art:
I gave this an 8 because it's not the greatest art in Japan, but it is pretty cute. I also like the way that Sora's other self changes the way he looks. The graphics are usually well drawn and I don't see anything too bad about it.
Character:
The way the characters are made is also exciting. I think memory loss makes it better because that way, it allows you to learn more about the characters since they don't know anything about them either. Yoru and Ran don't have as much since they don't show up as often and all that they really tell you is that they love each other endlessly, but that would be expected since Amnesia (another anime with this kind of plot) did the same thing with one of their characters. I doubt most people agree with that though.
Sound:
The music and sound effects were usually really entertaining and I love it when animes play music during a lot of the scenes, like Clannad. They know the right moments for the right music.
I would say this anime would be better for people that aren't that deep into anime, just beginners so they can see a little bit of what it's like since a lot of people who are really full on into anime see this as something written by that type of crowd. But honestly, I think that if you don't like it at first it comes out great in the end like most animes, where the most drama and excitement is added in.

〔 Note 〕 This is my first review. I normally do not think to write reviews because so many people have already written well-rounded reviews, so another one would be pointless. But after seeing the reviews on this anime, I found none helpful or particularly persuasive in convincing me to either not watch or watch this anime. I watched this one night, purely out of boredom and . . . wanting. Yeah, let's go with that.

Suki na Mono wa Suki Dakara Shou ga Nai!!, or better known as Sukisho/Sukysho, is an anime that surprised me initially. A particularly funny YouTube comment that I relate to ... spiritually wrote, "I never knew yaoi could be so scary." As I have said before, I came across Sukisho one night on a whim; a need for a shounen-ai series because there are so few. And I was not disappointed, surprisingly. At least not at first.

→ STORY
Sukisho starts out very confusingly. We are first introduced to the shounen-ai aspect of the show. Admittedly, that first scene was purely fan-service. Or was it? A pink-haired boy sneaks into a blue-haired boy's room, 'asking' about a person by the name of Yoru. Of course, our protagonist is not named Yoru--he is Sora.
The story of Sukisho is not profoundly original. Our protagonist is amnesic and the main conflict of the show is his past, conveniently shrouded in mystery and questioning. His love interest appears out of the blue, and enters his life, but there's a twist! They were childhood friends! (M. Night Shyamalan would be proud.)
The pacing of the show seemed off to me. Some episodes were dedicated to the plot, and were serious in turn, but the others give it the 'Slice of Life' title. It seemed to jump back and forth between trying to advance the plot and simultaneously entertain with its light-hearted Do-It-All Club filler episodes. The humor is of the slapstick, idiotic comic relief variety, which is not a bad thing. It depends on your sense of humor and was not so overbearing in my opinion.
However, the ending was what irked me the most. To avoid spoilers, all I will say on the topic is that I felt like all the development leading up to the ending was wasted by plot armor. It didn't seem impactful in the least. They used more energy to tug at heartstrings rather than create a concise, logical conclusion. Also, episode 13 is purely a filler. It's cute, but it's filler.

→ ART
Keep in mind that Sukisho was created in 2005. That is not an excuse for shoddy animation, but it is an explanation. The art of Sukisho is not in any way terrible. I found the comical scenes endearing, and the characters are all diverse appearance-wise. Any beef you have with the design of the characters can be directed toward the game's producer(s) since Sukisho is an anime adaption, not an original work.
At times, the animation was a bit wonky and the character's anatomical proportions are inaccurate, but nothing too atrocious to look at. It is perfectly mediocre and that's alright.

→ SOUND
The soundtrack of Sukisho is not outstanding. The opening and ending are okay, but nothing stood out to me. I don't have anything to say about the sound because I am not talented in the musical side of things.

→ CHARACTER
Most of Sukisho's characters are archetypes. There's Sora, the stubborn protagonist, Sunao, the tsundere, Matsuri, the childhood friend who exploits his friends for (comical) personal gain, etc. My favorite characters were Ran and Yoru, but for a reason that I cannot explain because of spoilers. In my opinion, they were well-written and very enjoyable to watch. Their interactions were sweet, but the reason they were in love was never explained, which is disappointing. The inherent lack of females in this anime is bizarre, even considering the fact that the setting is an all-boys academy. They venture out into the world outside of school and yet no women are seen or interacted with.
The development between Sora and Sunao was very well executed. They did not immediately fall in love, but they did not dilly-dally about their romantic feelings. It was very real to me. It was immature, but I excuse it because they're high school students who come from rough pasts. They aren't exactly a conventional pair.

→ ENJOYMENT
This is one of Sukisho's high points. I personally enjoyed the sh-- I mean, crap out of Sukisho! I binged it out of boredom and was on the edge of my seat, trying to anticipate the next episode. Sukisho was not painful to watch, which surprised me the most. I would suggest watching three episodes before deciding if this anime is for you.

→ OVERALL
Sukisho does not ever draw the line between realism and fantasy. That may turn some people off because it's so abrupt and out-of-the-blue. Along with sharing multiple people in one body, ghosts exist, as well as wish-granting hot springs. Just something to keep in mind. I wouldn't count this as a low-point for me. It was just surprising.
Overall, I enjoyed watching Sukisho very much. It is not the most amazing show you will watch, and I don't even guarantee that you will enjoy it, but please give it a try. You might find that its comical aspect and endearing characters resonate within you.

Anime to watch if you enjoyed Sukisho are:
・ Junjou Romantica (eng. Pure Love), a shounen-ai/yaoi 'classic' as dubbed by BL fans. It is also domineered by a colorful cast of men (with the odd woman here and there).
・ No. 6, for its fantasy background and shounen-ai couple.
・ Love Stage!!, because it also has a tsundere uke and is a must-see in the BL world.

Entirely too cutesy wutesy woo. Entirely too predictable. Entirely too annoying. Just what age-group had that been directed to?

When I started watching, I immediately thought that the overly cute and constant chibi-scenes were more awkward than funny. It was like the story was grabbing me from the neck and yelling "it's chibis and they are being cute and funny. NOW LAUGH!". Honestly,

In 12 episodes, there were entirely too many characters and trying to deal with them all just made the anime confusing. Specially when the story-telling jumped back and forth from cutesy wutesy woo chibis to seriousness like... every few minutes. Like the ... review I read about the series before watching it "once you think the chibis are just a bit too much, it changes into more serious story-telling, and when the angst is starting to become overwhelming, it goes back into the humour-mode" ( or so ). That is really hard to pull off without being annoying. Fruits Basket managed this marvelously, Sukisyo didn't. It was just restless and hard to follow. Not to mention that more than once I was stunned by the sheer stupidity of the characters ( someone might call them plotholes... ). In the end, I felt like whole of that second personality stuff was pretty pointless, among many other things. They hardly supported or had anything to with the main plot.

It did jerk some laughter out of me ( but sometimes it wasn't because of the humor ) but most of the time I felt like banging my head to desk.

The style of the animation... ugh... not only was it overly cute, it was pretty generic, anime gone overly-cute. Almost all the most important characters had weird colored hair and eyes while the background characters were almost always that basic brown-haired and brown-eyed types. I really hate it when for no apparent reason characters have cute blue or pink or what not eyes or hair, specially if they totally stand out from the rest of the group yet no one minds.
Animation itself was basic good. Nothing too incredible but not bad either. At least all the eps looked pretty much the same ( at least I didn't notice any big difference anywhere ).

Sora was fun, but his constant chibi-transformations made him a bit annoying. Also, his stupidity from time to time was nothing out of annoying, rather than cute ( and make no mistake, I often like dumb characters ). His alter-ego Yoru, seemed much more interesting.

Sunao was cute. If you like that kind of cute. I don't. His light-red hair accompanied with such basic "difficult uke" behavior was irritating, and his reasons of angsting and eventually putting up most of the story was ridiculous. I can't find such childishness believable, let alone likable.

I was mostly interested in Nanami's and Shinichirou's relationship in the end. Mostly because I like their voice actors alot, which is probaply pretty shallow but that's really all there was to it.

I liked Matsuri a lot, because... can anyone say Ayame ( Fruits Basket )? Sure you can. He was totally, absolutely like Ayame. Then again, that's also why I didn't like him as much as I could have - originality is nice.

While I'm a complete shounen-ai/yaoi fan, I did find the lack of girls a bit silly. I don't think in whole 12 eps there was a single female character around, not even in the background. It was a total Homotopia and while I sometimes amuse myself with such thoughts, it's really kinda unrealistic. That Valentine's Day ep was a sad... sad thing to see.

Anyway, this was definitely a very disappointing anime and I really can't recommend it for anyone.

Let's begin the fact that there are no female characters whatsoever in this series. Many males that look like females, but no female characters.
People who aren't patient with this anime will get really irritated when the episodes don't start uncovering any of what seems like a really deep, dark plot line about a misconception between two inseparable and premature lovers.
It starts out very slow and sometimes, it is only the comedy that kept me watching.
The first ending is great, the art is good- there's nothing bad about it- but the story and characters really struck me when I was watching ... this anime.

Personally, I find the split personality and psychological disorders among the characters very intriguing and essential for the plot line because the anime may surprise you with twists and turns. Don't trust anyone.

The main love story is adorable and has many feels. The other side of Yoru and Sunao are extremely sexy too if you like that kind of thing.
Although it is boys love, if you were looking for some hard thrusting action, you are going to be disappointed, this story doesn't revolve around the two lovers as much as I would've liked but so much so to be called a shounen-ai.

It's a very cute love story that will keep you interested all the way through. I liked the story, it didn't seem too forced although dropping from a third floor window normally doesn't induce amnesia, it usually ends in death. I'm not going to comment on its 'believability' because as you're watching, you're going to notice that there are absolutely no female roles in this anime so there's obviously a lot of "just don't ask" details you're going to have to get used to. Not saying it's a bad thing for a shounen ai story, it's just seems a bit forced.

Sukisho, for me, was great to watch!

I have to admit that the story was a bit, well, weird...I don't know if it's just me, but the first time I watched it I was pretty confused plot-wise. I mean, I knew they were test subjects and such, and that they had alternate personalities, but I didn't totally understand a few of the later episodes.

Don't get me wrong, the plot idea itself was a little unique and intriguing to me. It was one of the reasons I re-watched it.

The characters, while maybe not totally unique, were great! They all had certain traits that easily distinguished ... them, and they all had animated personalities, so it was always a delight to watch. The children were all so cute too~

There is a decent amount of humor in the series, and I was almost always very amused at what was going on. The missions that Matsuri puts Sora and Sunao on were pretty funny c:

As for the shounen-ai perspective, there is a very decent amount of things that I fangirled over^///^ There is a lot of implication though, too, so you kind of have to use your imagination at some points. As the series continues you can tell that the two main characters really do care for each other, and in the beginning you will more than likely be rooting for them to just hug already ;D

All in all, while it has been a bit since I watched it, I only remember thoroughly enjoying it~

Sukisho, where to start... This would have to be my all time favourite anime. The story is fairly original I felt, with a good dose of humour that sort of masks the dark undertones so it's not a depressing anime. It's a story of friendship and love, but also cruelty and revenge. I recommend this to everyone, even if boy x boy isn't your thing, it's only light shounen ai and is still a great watch.

This anime has some confusing things about it. First, I don't know, but there were no females in the entire show. Now, either there are no females in the universe they live in, or everybody is just gay. They use the words "sister, mother, girl, and woman" though, so that is confusing. And if there are just males, how do they reproduce. The other confusing part of the show is the main antagonist. I don't really understand the motive of the Aizawa scientist character. Apparently, he spents so many years trying to torture kids, so he can control and manipulate them however he ... wants. He uses his plan on two specific children, the two other main characters. He spents so many years making elaborate an elaborate plan just trying to see if he can control Sora. I don't really know what happens to Aizawa at the end, but I think he was crazy or too serious about his work.

Other than the few confusing parts, there are some good and bad aspects of the show. First, if anyone read the summary and thought they were going to watch a highly-suspenseful, dramatic, and emotional shounen-ai, they were wrong. The anime is basically the good plot obscured by the character's daily lives. (Over half of the episodes were about the characters in their daily life.)I really liked all of the characters especially Honjou and the split personalities. So, each episode was enjoyable to watch, while the plot slowly revealed itself. There were some strange and major plot twists in the show, and thoses were enjoyable.

I thought the ending came too quickly. Everything was resolved really easily and that was somewhat dissapointing. (I was also sad over Yoru and Ran, but also somewhat happy about it. I believe Sora meeting with Yoru at the near ending was the saddest.) But overall, the ending was positive and happy.

I recommend this anime to all BL fans because it was pretty enjoyable overall. Even though there were some confusing aspects, the plot is good and the characters are likable. (There is even a game series of this show, so it might explain a little deeper and better than the anime.)

Well, I've seen Sukisyo 3 times, and I love it, but history is somewhat slow and it lacks on "action" as one would expect, but is enjoyable and has a good message at the end.
All you have to know about the story is carried really slow over the anime, which is why there is a time when becomes something boring.
I also think that there are some episodes that are left over, although they're those with more comedy.
But despite all I think it is highly recommended.

This anime was one of those series that are truly like drugs: I finished it in one night... if you can count 4 am as 'night.'
Overall, I would characterize it as endearing and dramatic. Although some may complain that many aspects of the plot were unbelievable (e.i. surviving a 4 story fall, everyone is male and gay...) we as anime fans must remember what we get ourselves into when we click that link. This is ANIME, it is all about suspending your disbelief and loving it despite- or even because of- its oddities.
Yes, the art wasn't superb and Sunao DOES desperately need a ... haircut, but it was visually easy to follow, proportional, and the men were quite attractive. And come on. It's shounen-ai. We LOVE our pretty boys.
My favorite part of the series were the characters, specifically Sora and Nao and their alter-egos. Sora was a dynamic main character, and the fact that the series was in the perspective of the seme was unconventional and refreshing. Sunao is also not a conventional uke, and although he is quite effeminate and again, NEEDS a haircut, it is always clear that he is a male- in both appearance and personality. As a couple, their development is believable and relatable. Although Yoru and Ran aren't as developed, they provide some excellent fanservice, and are additionally believable.
The story line may not be entirely realistic, but the characters are, and the anime as a whole is captivating, tear jerking, and, of course, squee-ably adorable.
