Both male leads go on a journey filled with despair and sadness. Both do not remember who and what they truly are, and they slowly discover the truth and consequence of their existence as time progresses. Same dark atmosphere, same philosophical storytelling.

Both borrow theming elements from old stories (The Wizard of Oz for Oz and The Pied Piper of Hamelin for Hamelin) in an endearing way yet are completely different from their source materials, instead telling their own story. Both also star a redhead with pigtails and lots of blondes, have romance elements, and have overall pretty dark colour palettes.

Hamelin is more like fantasy and Dante is more modern, but all that brother|sister and demon|angel stuff is in both of them. But Dante is more connected with religion and Hamelin - with romance.

as the title says,it's a movie of hamelin, but a short one. It just shows one quest for hameiln. but their personality is totally different from the Tv series. If in the series there's a lot angst, the movie is totally hilarious ^__^.I watch the movie just to make me feel better after watching the series.

Similar feeling and settings while the plot may be different. Both animes have a princess who have lived her entire life as a commoner too and they also had some hard time to realize their situation. You will surely like them both if you like medieval fantasy.

Both have a strong focus on classical music, combined with a fairytale setting. In Hameln, the music interacts directly with the setting, while in Tutu the dance is the 'magic power'.
