Bloody Date

Okay, so this Claymation is basically a spoof of renowned horror movies, but I feel the medium it uses to tell the story is quite creative.

Story: 6
I give the story a 6 just because its not the most original idea of course, but does enough to warrant a fair valuation.

Art: 9
The art department I give a 9 because I can only imagine how long it takes to make something like this. There was clear effort put into making this gory and two characters have great art work.

Sound: 3
Its a silent movie. But the silence adds to the horror aspect of the animation.

Not a lot of characterization you can do in 5 minutes, so I'll give it a pass.

Enjoyment: 8
Quite enjoyable throughout its run time, which is not that hard of an objective.

Overall: 7
Overall, it's a decent way to spend 5 minutes of your time. You needn't read a review for this. Just watch it!

I would give it 1 because i don't like horror movies in general with the exception of saw but even then i still slightly hate it. So, not to be biased with my review i graded it for what it was a horror. Which lead to a 5.

Art was in clay form. It takes one set of skills to construct good animation. It takes another set of skills to portray a life like tale. So, the art one might say was well preformed.

character: could have used more a back story for everyone.

p.s. this setup they went with is too played out. Middle of woods, psych killer, house in the woods... yadada.

My biggest takeaway from watching TK's works has been that his mantra is "love is fake, murder is real". Rest assured-enjoying a nice evening at the park did not go extremely well for the couple depicted here. This desperately needed SOME music as the drawn out drama building mixed with silence simply didn't produce an engaging viewing experience. It featured a mundane and predictable cliche horror story. It was violent enough to earn a decent rating but the poor animation made the main character completely unrelatable and unsympathetic and her naive actions didn't help. It's worth watching if you're into gore and have a few ... spare minutes but it's nothing particularly impressive. It was unexpectedly conventional for a Takena Nagao animation.
