Yeah Cross Game is a really good sports anime. Good enough to finish in 2 days ^^
I'm not really into shounen romances, since they're far too juvenile, so I don't think I can recommend any to you. But if you want some good ol' harem romance then Umi no Misaki is a must read.
Have you seen Clannad. You should check that one out, seeing as you like Kyoto animation production. Air tv was pretty good, it had promise at the start, but it got worse as it went further on about the whole "reincarnation thing" which didn't make any sense to me, but you should check out Clannad.
Seeing as you like sports anime, i would also recommend Princess nine. I actually watched the dub of that and really enjoyed it. Its warm sweet, romance kind of anime about girls competing in baseball against there rival team. But there are some dramatic situations that happen that make the series pretty enjoyable.
If you love "originality" in a anime, i can tell because you like Shinkai Motoko's movie 5 centimeters per second.
I strongly recommend you check out his other works also, like place promised in our early days and voices of a distant star.
I would also check out Studio Gibli's films from famed story director and animator Hayao Miyazaki . All of his films are just WONDERFUL, in every sense of the word, they just all have this originality to them that you can relate to. No big breasted women, they don't try to make the females overly sexy, and no slap stick comedy that pretty much ruins alot of anime today. You should really consider checking out his movies. Namely one of my favorites is "whisper of the heart".
Oh i couldn't of said it better, yeah romance is what really drives character development, your definitely right there. IN fact in most cases action some times just turns me off if thats all the series is based on. I find my self so much more attached when they introduce multi personality characters and how they have some sort of relationship and watching them grow stronger over the course of the series.
Yes i love Suzuka, alot of people rated it low scores but i definitely though it deserved a 10 in my eyes. If a show really entertains me to the point of not watching to put it down and just marothon each and every episode from start to finish. In my eyes thats a 10. I don't really give 10's out that often but suzaku was great. Dragonaut would probably give a 6 at best.

I see you have heroic age on your plan to watch list lol trust me dude if you didnt care for dragonauts, heroic age is even worse. The action is a bit better but thats it has going for it. Everything else fails, music, character devolopment the same typical "stupid male" that doesn't know nothing and has no brain tries to be the strongest in the universe.
You wonder if they rip these types of generic character themes from Dragonball, cause thats anime i do remember where the character is actually pretty stupid in the intelligent department but is actually one of the strongest characters in the series. Dragon ball was awesome though, they did it right but these other shows just fail in comparison.
LOL @ at your Dragonaut review. Man this show just flat sucked. I just now finished it my self and i have to say its pretty bad. Same old generic concept seen in so many freaken anime's. "the power of love, conquers all" well this can be well executed in certain series, but it just failed in this show in my opinion.
I just got done watching 2 crappy shows in a row, Heroic age and Draganauts, next im checking out Samurai 7, hopefully that one is interesting. IM kind of tired of these mecha's show any ways, i need something different and refreshing. This whole "guys meets girl, grows a relationship and love is the stronger power in the universe" crap is just dull and boring the hell out of me.
Hey some series are great like Tegen toppa Gurren Lagann, Full metal Panic, Code Geass, Gundam Seed. Those are some good mecha shows but heroic age with its exhausting religious dialogue about the universe and these tribes that try to find there place in this universe and be one with god was just kind confusing as all hell and made no sence.
Then dragonauts bout there humans trying to co exist with the dragons and that ANNOYING son of a bich Kazuki. I mean have you EVER seen a more annoying character. How can the writers be so stupid to create a character that starts out like best friends with Jin and pratically turns into antogonist all because he didn't get his dragon Gio. I mean COME ON!! That has to the most Cliche character development ive ever seen. I just feel like i been had. 2 stupid series in a row.
Please let samurai 7 be good, i hear some good stuff bout it though.
I've already downloaded all the available episodes by [ANBU] (43 episodes so far). I'm just waiting for them to finish subbing Cross Game and then I'll marathon it.
As for you, I recommend you check out 12 Kingdoms (Juuni Kokuki). The story is nothing special & some characters can be incredibly annoying but the world it creates is one of the most in-depth world of anime fantasy anime. And the female protagonist happens to be in my Top 10. ^^
Yh Lara Croft was hot... shame what happened to her but I guess Reika was her replacement.
Well once I finish the next 2 episodes of R+V TAS I plan to get serious with editing and produce something of the level of what was done in this Multi Editor AMV - Crossover (The Soul Eater bit in particular)

CHRONO CRUSADE! very underrated in my opinion. You have good taste in anime.
I reccomend you check out "mai hime" or Shakugan no shana as well.

It depends, chapter releases can usually take anything between 2 & 4 weeks. ^_^
