| snake and canute had some solid dialogue and the war as begun! thorgil's plan about infiltrating from behind is pretty good i imagine canute being one step ahead. because thorgil was also dumb enough to laugh and declare that he's behind canute right at the end. like bro. arnheid's situation is still very bleak but thorfinn and the lot has made a break for it. i thought it would've been interesting to hear what current thorfinn thinks of war as he watches it in real time from afar but he just scoped the situation and dipped. they didn't properly part ways with ketil though, damn. |

| I had wondered how many men Ketil would be able to rally in the forthcoming battle against Canute. Not telling them who they're even going into battle against and at the same time offering to cancel all their debts was the perfect incentive and indeed a smart move on Thorgil's part. However, as Snake already realized, there is essentially no chance that Ketil will emerge victorious. Thorfinn was finally able to thank Leif, who not only always worried about him, but never gave up hope of finding Thorfinn even after all these many years. Thorfinn has gone through such tremendous development in this arc that I'm not surprised that Leif could have mistaken him for someone else. Still, I found it extremely important that Thorfinn gets this message from someone like Leif, as he hardly seems to be aware of it himself. Interesting to hear that Snake not only met the true Iron Fist on the battlefield, but was trained by him as well. After that revelation, Ketil has become an even bigger joke than he already was. It was only because he shared the same name with the true Iron Fist that Ketil was able to claim the name of such a well-known warrior, when in reality he was merely a fake, as Snake discovered years later himself. Revealing this secret to his men shows the enormous trust Snake has in them. While I will never become a fan of Fox, especially with what he did to Thorfinn, I have to admit that he and the rest of Snake's men have extraordinary courage to join this seemingly hopeless battle. Fleeing as soon as the battle began was the best decision Thorfinn, Einar, Leif, and Bug-Eyes could have made. Especially considering Arnheid's condition. The wonderfully portrayed dream sequence in which you see Arnheid driving home with Gardar and their children on the cart made me really sad. It's hard to put into words what these two went through. This almost extinguished all hope that Arnheid and her child might survive. The battle itself went as expected. Ketil's men have absolutely no chance, which once again shows that this kind of quality in Canute's soldiers is far superior to the quantity of Ketil's men. Solely Thorgil has come up with an extremely cunning plan, as I don't necessarily think Canute expects to be attacked from behind. But you never know with Canute. It could even be that he has already taken certain countermeasures for such a case. As the preview title suggests, I'm assuming that the next episode will be truly painful ;_; |

| Snake continues to be goated with the reveal about Ketil to his men and telling them to flee. Now I know this completely disregards Thorfinn's recent character development etc but MAN I wish Thorfinn took part in the battle. Would Snake + Thorfinn + Thorgil would be enough to turn the battle? Regardless, it would've been amazing to see these 3 team up. |

| So Thorgil is more than just a big blond Viking meathead! Nice to see he can be crafty and calculating as well. Obviously, he won't succeed in killing Canute because he's an MC. If I were Canute I would kill Thorgil, take Ketil hostage, then have Olmar the weakling serve as a vassal. Snake will probably survive but I have a feeling all his men will die in battle. RIP Pater, I don't think he's going to make it either. Still looking forward to the eventual meeting between Canute and Thorfinn. Both of them have changed so much. I wonder how they will view each other. |

| Damn Canute's army is just way too OP for Ketil's one and they're already being destroyed right now, except if Thorgil makes a move against Canute at the end but I doubt it will work. Another Arnheid's scene before she wakes up so at least things are getting slightly better for Thorfinn and Einar since they're obviously leaving the farm before the assault. |

| I really wish Arnheid somehow survived and ended with Einar... but yeah, she has blood in her lungs so definitely internal bleeding. Her surviving is basically zero especially after that Gerard vision. Also I'm still hoping we will see how Thorfinn end up on Ketil farm. Yes, he was obviously possessive over Arnheid but in the same time we saw what happened to his first love when he let her go and he didn't surrounded himself with young female slaves so we can't be sure if he would replace her by younger slave (possible but we can't be sure). | That whole scene in which Arnheid is about to leave the forest (NO PLS NOT YET ;( is beautiful, from Gardar saying that he'll wait there for her with the children, to Thorfinn and Einar as a wolf and a stag, still fighting in the forest, who Arnheid wants to thank one last time before she moves on. |
