| Easily the best episode of the show so far. Masterful in its commitment to mood and atmosphere while also being heartbreakingly poetic. Felt almost like I was watching an Ingmar Bergman movie at points with all the rumination on faith and religion. |

| After a bunch of episodes painting Askeladd as a cool warrior future king leader dude, this was such a brutal reminder about the reality of him and this period of history. The father being told he won't need to worry about surviving through any more winters was haunting. |
