I reread your comment I thought I should add a few tidbits here should you chose to reply to my response.

Please /don't/ tell me to seriously reevaluate any of my opinions like ever. They are my opinions and if you don't like them that is completely fine. But never tell me they aren't thought through or ignorant. Making comments like this are in bad taste and rude. I'm perfectly happy to debate my position but when you are telling me I need to "do some serious reevaluation" because of "preconceived and subtly sexist notions" you are completely out of line. Please keep this in mind in the future.

Whether you did it on purposes or, not you completely insulted me today. It would amaze me if you actually didn't understand what you were doing. You questioned my moral standing even though we've never exchanged a word in our lives. It comes off as judgmental and pretentious. I had to get that off my chest because it was bugging me.

First of all thank you for taking the time to read my review. I'm glad you liked it.

Let me get right to Rin. What I said in the review was not even half my thoughts on Tohsaka. I kept it brief to avoid a long winded rant about everything. I knew if I started there would be far to much written to keep the attention span of the average MAL user. But now I'll gladly address my meaning behind my wording in the review.

As I said I was most excited for Rin Tohsaka coming into the series. Episode zero continued to get my hopes up. She seemed like a sensible headstrong girl albeit a little hasty (throwing away her first command seal on impulse). There was even a dream sequence with her family which I was looking forward to see expanded. Saving Shirou was fine seeing he wasn't a master yet.

Enter episode 1, the cracks begin to show. Tohsaka started fitting the mold as the typical tsundere foil to Shirou like in a bad shoujo. For all her knowledge of the grail war she makes stupid decisions. Like going to school even after mutliple incidents happen there. Continuing to selfishly put the other students in danger even though it makes no sense for the character. Teaming up with the weakest master of them all because she has a crush on him. Constantly being scolded by Archer while continuing to think she knows better than him. "I left him at home." Way to get yourself killed in the middle of the holy grail war.

I'll say it again, clueless. Comfortable enough to go on dates and go to school in the middle of a war at the same time ignoring her servant. Constantly being caught in dangerous situations without Archer because she was angry at him and left him at home. Just because she has been studying her entire life preparing for it doesn't automatically make her brilliant. In fact in all of her strategies it is almost always Shirou that bails her out. If not Shirou then Archer the servant she constantly refuses to listen to.

Saying the word annoying is "subtly sexist criticism" is, I'm sorry, ridiculous. If I say Shirou is annoying does that make it sexist? Of course not because he is a guy. I made it clear in my review I found the shows use of women regressive.

Rin is constantly playing second fiddle to Shirou the whole series. She was a tsundere in the worst sense of the word. Loud, obnoxious, constant mood swings. Honestly sometimes I found myself wondering if anyone actually wanted to win the grail. I found Tohsaka annoying for everything I already said.

To say my judgements are based on preconceived sexist notions is extremely offensive to me. Even if you didn't mean to offend me by it. If someone came up to me and sai, "No offense but you're a fucking dick." I would feel the same way as I do with your "subtle" jab at my moral fiber.

My judgements are completely and utterly justified in my humble opinion. But hey if wanting a stronger female lead that wasn't dependent on a gary-sue main protagonist makes me sexist so be it.

Rin annoyed me.

That was loud winded! Sorry, if I came off a little harsh. I just really have a peeve when people twist words into sexist slurs. We can still be friends if I didn't anger you!
