Mushishi is an anime that features many aspects of human nature, and doesn’t shy away from the difficulties humans face in trying to survive. The main character Ginko is a wandering traveler that seeks to understand the meaning of primitive and peculiar beings who are called “mushi”.
Let me say this from the get go, this anime is for you, IF you’re into “episodic” anime. By “episodic” I mean episode X has no impact or does nothing to influence the happenings of episode Y, both episodes are able to stand

on their own.
Mushishi is one of those anime that came out confident and strong, then merrily went on its way leaving its mark in the vast world of anime…Now for the review.
Story: 9/10
The story line of Mushishi is that damn good, I enjoyed every second of each episode, I relished in the happy moments, the extremely sad ones as well as the moments filled with suffocating suspense. I was completely drawn into the episodes I watched, I found myself playing the role of wandering helpless traveler at Ginkos’ side. As I said earlier this anime is strictly episodic, so there isn’t much to discuss as it pertains to the story. All in all every episode has its unique and independent feel that I guarantee you’ll appreciate.
Characters: 7/10
I prefer shows with lots interesting main and supporting characters, that contribute to the overall mood and enjoyment you get from watching them experience whatever comes their way. Now don’t get me wrong, I am absolutely in love with the main character Ginko (No Homo), but it has to be said, I think no one has the right to harshly criticise how well developed the main character is.
Art: 10/10
Mushishi has one of the most captivating art out of the many anime shows that I’ve watched. The art seemed to come to life in some scenes with vivid colors and lighting. Mushishi portrayal of the beauty of nature was something to savour and enjoy, the art went in perfect harmony with the story that’s being detailed.
Sound: 9/10
Well Done. I’m not going to bore you by describing it to, some things should be left to first-hand experience this is one of them.
Enjoyment: 10/10
All in all Mushishi was a really great series, which deserves way more exposure than what it currently has, this anime is approaching its Ten (10) years anniversary and I want to thank Artland, FUNimation and Delphi sound for coming together to make the adaptation of the manga a success. We Loved Your Masterpiece.

This anime has been anticipated by many and now that it is out there are many views out there. So far they have been positive and the few negatives one are all riding on one argument that I find irrelevant to the show's quality. I hate when people confuse their enjoyment of a show with the show's quality.

your argument on logic without considering the fact that the anime is a fantasy?

I am sorry this too much. It is time for the review.
Story:
Violet Evergarden is the main character of this anime. I deliberately started off my analysis of the story with her name because her importance to the show is deeper than most viewers realize. Violet's lack of emotion gives us an innocent and immaculate view into the lives of complex beings called humans. Through Violet's eyes, we are able to spot more clearly the paradoxical and absurd actions that humans make in response to emotions that govern their everyday lives.
The show is a tear jerker I am not giving it more credit that is due. It attempts to draw out your soft and solemn emotions at times, it's clear as day but why not?
If my analysis of the story seemed a little thin it's deliberate. I want you to watch it without having too much information about the story. It's a beautiful story that I would recommend to almost everyone.
Sound:
The voice acting in this anime is gorgeous. It is clean and compliments every aspect of all characters in the show. I find the OST and the musical accompaniment divine. The music works well to dictate the emotion resonating from each scene and successfully prepares you for the scenes to follow. I am not a good critique of sound but even I can say it was well done.
Visuals:
If there is one thing everyone must agree on for this anime it has to be the animation. It is fluent, aesthetically pleasing to the eye, vivid and rich. Its riddled with amazing color combinations coupled with smooth and lucid lighting that brought life to every scene. The animation was excellent. That's it.
Enjoyment:
If you have read this far it is clear that I am a fan of this show, however, I am not naïve. I have seen many shows that started off well and had a good run until it was time to end the season so I am aware this show can go sour before it ends. Even so, the shows that were released so far are nothing short of amazing.

“People’s feelings are memories that transcend time” -Kurisu Makise [Steins;Gate]
Those were the first words that made me realize, that I had fell in love with Steins;Gate, I know there has been much debate as to why Steins;Gate is considered to be such a masterpiece, but honestly I can’t say it is, because then you would have created a narrow-minded view/perspective of what a masterpiece should be, I believe that if an anime manages to evoke emotion within the viewer whether it be one of frustration or of happiness and leaves you wanting more. It did a bloody good job, now for the review.

Steins;Gate is
...
about a “mad scientist” named Okabe Rintarou who addresses himself as Hououin Kyouma who is the founder of The Future Gadget Laboratory which he manages with his friends Daru and Mayuri, they intermittently create unique devices, that are actually of little worth, until Okabe accidentally sent a text message to Darus’ cellphone that is attached to their prized invention, The Phone Microwave which is undergoing a test run, subsequently Okabe manages to send a text message into the past informing Daru of an incident a few days prior to its happening. This is where the anime gets OMFG! Okabe then realizes the huge impact that tampering with time can cause after a few experiments have been run. To make matters worse he then comes in contact with an evil organization called SERN who wants to misuse his invention, Okabe is now forced to out run from SERN in order to protect his friends and invention. Steins;Gate started of pretty slow for me, I thought it was unassuming, overrated series, but when the anime hit episode 9 and revealed why it placed so much emphasis on laying the ground work for me in the early stage of the series. I’m like “Genius!” In all truth Steins;Gate has a Complex, Well-Written, Sci-Fi Thrilling Plot. Even though Steins;Gate is a show about time travel, I never found myself being confused by the concepts and theories it featured rather I found myself intrigued and infatuated by them.

One of the biggest criticisms that Steins;Gate face is that the characters hardly has any character development and I’m here to say your right, but your still wrong, for your outlook is wrong, had there been any further character development it would only take away from the OMFG amazing plot that is about to unfold.
Art: 7/10
The art is Steins;Gate wasn’t…amazing, it wasn’t something you’d think to put as your wallpaper to be honest, but that doesn’t mean it was awful or poorly animated, all I can say the art played it’s part in creating the desired “feel” that the writer was trying to convey. I am still mind blown as to how Kurisu Jacket works but that’s another issue.
Sound: 9/10
This is the first anime I watched where the voice acting actually worked well with the animation and sounded completely original. The person(s) who handled music and sound…they knew what they were doing, the thing I loved most about how they dealt with it, is instead following most anime in their genre and used some slow instrumental music to guide the viewers thoughts and emotions in times of sadness, shock and despair. Steins;Gate allowed the viewers thoughts and emotions to run wild by using complete significantly increasing the effect and enjoyment.
Enjoyment: 10/10
I’ve seen a lot of reviews with an enjoyment section lately so I’ll add one too, anyways, Steins;Gate will forever gain full marks. I still remember how I watched Steins;Gate I watched the entire series in one go, I was so addicted I couldn’t help myself from watching episode after one after the other, and when it came to its conclusion, I remember just before falling asleep I said to myself “I’m going to start watching anime”
I do hope you give this anime a chance as I know you won't regret it!!
