Try Knights

• Both feature rugby prominently. • Both involve a main character who loves rugby but faces difficulty because of his small size. • Both feature another main character that befriends the main character and has more traditional body type for rugby. • Both feature a predominantly or all male cast with good looking athletic characters. • Both have undertones of gay themes, to one degree or another. While All Out!! appeals to a more gay male audience, Try Knights is likely to appeal to a more BL-oriented female audience.

Both Trickster and Psycho-Pass are anime worth seeing for anyone who enjoys questions of morality or likes crime dramas or anime set in a realistic society of the future. In many ways they are very similar, but there are some significant differences too, enough to pleasantly enjoy watching both without feeling like one is a rehash of the other. Similarities between Psycho-Pass and Trickster: * Both anime feature the basic "good guys versus bad guys" premise. * Both anime blur the lines of morality by calling into question whether the good guys are truly good and the bad guys truly bad. * The "bad guys" in both anime employ terrorism and charismatic brainwashing of everyday citizens to strike against the "good guys" while taking very little action themselves. * Both are set in a near-future society where the lives of average citizens are heavily influenced by the technology they use. * The "bad guys" in both anime are seriously sexy. Some of the good guys are too! * Both anime feature predominantly (but not exclusively) male casts. * Romance is not a major aspect in either anime, but specific relationships in each lend themselves to ambiguous possibilities. On the other hand: * The society portrayed in Psycho-Pass is more dystopian and dark, while the world of Trickster is mostly a bright, optimistic view of the future. * Police and para-police forces take on the role of the "good guys" in Psycho-Pass, while in Trickster, the focus is on a private detective agency's employees. * The cast of Pyscho-Pass is primarily 20- through 35-year-olds, while the cast of Trickster is mostly teens.

Air Gear and Accel World: the same story set in alternate universes. Okay, not really... but it seems that way when you take a moment to think about it. Even from episode 1, the two start the same: an aimless teen boy discovers a world of competitive sports he didn't know existed -- thanks to a special technological device and a girl of interest in each case. The theme of both series is the battle to be the best despite having started from nothing only days or weeks earlier. Whether it's Air Gear's 5-person team battles of Trophaeum or the 1-on-1 battle arena of Accel World's Brain Burst, will our young heroes be able to quickly master their newly acquired skills to turn the tide in their favor? Or will they be swallowed whole by those who are bigger, stronger, more experienced, and equipped with better equipment? It's anime -- you know the answer to that!

[*] Battles of good versus evil are the main focus of both series. [*] As children, the protagonist and the antagonist of both series were close friends; as time passes, they grow to become archenemies. In both series, the protagonist has difficulty accepting this. [*] The protagonist and antagonist in both shows are orphans. [*] Both series end with the action left frustratingly hanging. [*] Both series contain an overwhelmingly male cast. Most are bishounen. Although neither is a BL, yaoi, or shounen ai series, reading between the lines is easy for those who wish to do so, yet easily ignored for those who do not. While there are even more similarities -- so many that these almost feel like the same series with a different name -- revealing more would be to spoil one or both shows.
