People always want to prove themselves and zealous fandoms always end up like this. It's the same for music, film, video games, comics, or even something as silly as Pro Wrestling. There are actually wrestling elitists who toss around technical terms that they don't really understand and are really mean and insulting towards the children fans who just like the big strong dudes because they look cool. That guy SUCKS kid! You're a moron for liking him! He's slow as molasses, gets gassed really easily, and has no work rate! You should watch ultra obscure independent circuits from Japan like Noah! Then you'll understand what real wrasslin is!
Yes, it occasionally gets annoying. I have no issue if someone dislikes an anime I like. Imagine someone passed by my profile and said "I hate Jin-Roh because I think the Panzer Corp look ridiculous and their use of belt fed machine guns against rebels with no armor and weapons that are incapable of hurting the Panzer Corp is a laughable waste of ammo done to look cool!" I would be like "Ok dude. I liked that movie, but I see your point. " it would be a dumb criticism, but at least a fresh one. Nobody on MAL has ever said that. It gets annoying to hear the same dumb criticisms over and over because it just gets so tedious.
I actually had to withdraw in my 3rd year. It's a LONG story. I worked as a pharm tech for a while and now Im looking at a career in informatics or research. I'm not the best person to judge yaoi fanfics because I'm straight and can't really offer constructive feedback on the level of eroticism. I think you show potential as a writer though! My only attempt at fanfic is still a work in progress. It's called Elfen Lied Second Stanza and still needs fleshing out. It's more of an outline at this point for a 13 episode sequel.

I have no Mouth is a classic of dystopian future horror. It's a VERY disturbing story. I must say...that's a new direction for Bebop. I never really perceived Spike and Jet's relationship to be romantic in nature. Is that your first attempt at fanfiction?
I generally spend some time thinking about the anime for at least a few hours before starting a review. Usually when I'm at work and super bored. Sometimes I'll take notes on a word document when I'm watching the anime, but not always. I then typically format the review into 1. general background information and history 2. Plot and characters 3. Themes if any 4. Art and animation 5. Music and sound 6. Final thoughts.

When I first started writing here in 2014, my reviews got removed all the time for not strictly adhering to a certain format. Even after that prick review mod retired, I kind of kept to that style because I had just grown used to it.
I wrote a Goblin Slayer review BTW. Sorry for the super late response! I think your comment got buried. I'm not sure what my favorite review is. Probably my most passionate and intimate review was my longwinded defense of the problem filled Elfen Lied. Some reviews last year that I thought were relatively funny and I had fun writing include Royal Space Force and Beaten by the Black Rain. Some of my best reviews end up being for obscure shit, so I'm not sure if anyone sees them. I was quite pleased by my review of Mysterious Girlfriend X for example.
