Watch some of the bathroom scenes then tell me how deplorable this anime is? You do realize the casts is imbued with 12 year old female characters.

The worst episodes of Rainbow imo are the earliest ones. It seems really forced melodrama but over time the anime picks up and the second half of the series is wonderful. Also, comparing it to a movie like The Shawshank Redemption just isn't fair - there's too many things that make them purely incomparable.

Hating on Rainbow and then sucking the Gainax cock (and making up ratios to "prove the point") makes you sound like a hypocrite by the way.
