I have read a lot of yaoi / shounen ai manga. Of course I haven't read all of them, but for as much as I have read, this manga tackles something others don't. The reality of being gay/ in a gay relationship. From the research I've done, I know Japan is not as progressive to the LGBT community as the USA or Canada is. Gay marriage is still not legal. This manga shows the logistics of this and even discusses the legal aspects in Japan. This taught me a lot of things I did not know about the country.
This manga's first volume was mostly just ... about the yaoi, but the second two volumes tackles so many issues LGBT individuals may face in their life, and many specifics people living in Japan suffer with. Without spoiling anything, both men in this manga are very dynamic characters from different backgrounds and families and social groups. They both struggle with not only coming out to friends, family, and strangers, and to themselves. This manga is so much deeper than your run-of-the-mill yaoi fluff. (though of course there is everything yaoi fans still enjoy in it *winkwink*)
I'm writing this as a female part of the LGBT community herself, so I can speak to some things, but not all (I'm not male nor do I live in Japan.)

I highly recommend reading this if you are a fan of the genre and would like a more realistic yaoi which conveys the life of men in a relationship in Japan.

Let me preface this by saying: visually, aesthetically, and musically, this anime is a masterpiece. Tiny little details and just how the air moved amazed me. The soundtrack is fitting; powerful and beautiful.

The characters are likable, and feel like real people, which is important in a character driven show. Pacing and storytelling is where the show falls off a bit for me.

Don't get me wrong, when done well, I love a slow-burn story where everyday life is shown. During the viewing of this anime, I was often a little bored or wishing for more being done in a scene. And then BOOM, the ... ending. The ending felt rushed while the whole rest of the series dragged on.

I'm not saying this is a bad, or even sub-par anime, I enjoyed this series very much and I'm glad I experienced it. I think it's pacing and episode structure could have been better and I honestly would have liked to see more of the side characters (I loved Nishida!).

The anime pleasantly surprised me with its maturity and grace covering the subject matter. It doesn't get inappropriate or cringe-inducing like other shows or series that cover age-gap relationships. Without spoilers, the show isn't a romance in my opinion. It's about the growth of a person (both Tachibana and Kondou) and a bond between two individuals.

Overall I would say a 7.5 score for me. Worth a watch if you want to watch a relaxing show with decent characters amazing animation and sound design and nothing too heavy.

I'm going to be honest. This could've been a really good hentai. The premise wasn't bad and they could've made it really hot.
However.
The art was pretty terrible, the animation was low-quality, and the sound.... the voice actors were terrible as well. The moaning was very awkward and not sexy.
It's relativity short, so I can't be too mad at it. The characters were pretty basic, as most hentai characters are.

If the visuals and the sound improved, this could be a solid hentai, but oh well.

Story: 4/10

Sex scenes just sounded awkward and not sexy

I got a few chuckles out of it and was pretty entertained.

Glasslip has been often quoted as one of the worst anime series by many people. I feel this is a completely false statement and people who have seen many anime series will probably confirm this. There are much, much worse series out there. I actually don't even think Glasslip was a completely terrible series! And it could have been much better if it hadn't done so many things oh so wrong. This is what I'm going to discuss.


Glasslip: SoL or Drama?
Throughout watching Glasslip I felt the show constantly was jumping between drama and slice of life and it ended up being a mess. One of ... my favorite series is Nagi no Asukara, a series that came out roughly a year before Glasslip. The two series are both original series by P.A. Works and many NagiAsu fans (me included) were hoping for another series like Nagi no Asukara. Nagi no Asukara, in my opinion, is a series focused on conflict, drama. Sure there is a SoL feel in some episodes but that only lasts so long before a conflict arises, testing the characters' limit and leaving the audience hoping for the characters to overcome the events and grow as people from them.

Glasslip does not take this course, and even if it did, the characters would ruin it. I'll talk more about that later.

The slice of life genre stands on one thing. The characters. Without lovable and entertaining characters, the series is noting. Why would we want to watch the life of boring and unlikable individuals with nothing spectacular happening? Series that succeed in the SoL genre like Ichigo Mashimaro, Barakamon, and Non Non Biyori only succeed because people want to watch the characters. They enjoy their personalities and just watching then do mundane and simple activities is fun.


Glasslip: Characters
As mentioned above, characters make a SoL show. The problem is every character in Glasslip was annoying and felt extremely unnatural. They even tried to rip off the characters in Nagi no Asukara. With the "quiet and mysterious new guy" character Kakeru a failed attempt to recreate Tsumugu from Nagi no asukara. And the main girl is a clumsy, cheerful, lovestruck heroine extremely similar to Manaka's character in NagiAsu. Yet somehow even trying to recreate the characters from Nagi no Asukara, I disliked every character in Glasslip, even if I love every character in NagiAsu. Actually the only character in Glasslip I liked was the main character's little sister, Hina, who had very little screen time! So watching the show I couldn't get invested in what was happening to the characters because I didn't like or care about any of them.


Glasslip: Sci-fi or not??
The most frustrating thing about Glasslip is its piss poor attempt to integrate a sci-fi or fantasy element like they did in NagiAsu. And yea, the set-up on paper is cool. A girl and boy who can tell the future through a looking glass? But what happened to that? Its mentioned here and there and then nothing. It's like a romantic drama. The characters all trying to figure out their feelings for each other in the hot summer. Hormones, a hot sun, sandy beaches! ... oh yea and some of them have this power..... They do such a poor job at this area of the show, it would make the show better if it didn't have the most interesting concept in it! As you can tell I'm pretty mad about it. The idea had so much potential and they just took a giant shit on it.


Is Glasslip a terrible unwatchable show?
No.

But is it a show that I would recommend to someone looking for a colorful slice of life show? Or perhaps a drama-filled romance? A fantasy show about a girl seeing the future of her closest friends right before her eyes?
No, no I wouldn't. None of that.

But is it a show with pretty animation and a nice soundtrack?
Haha, yep.

In conclusion: I give Glasslip a 5/10.

This show is corny and hilarious. It's a compilation of classic jokes animated every episode. Its interesting how every episode features a completely different animation style, spanning from CGI to black and white pencil drawings to classic cutesy anime.

Every episode is a hit or miss. But more often than not, I find myself enjoying myself.

Would I recommend?: Only to people specifically looking for a goofy and sometimes even cringey show with no story or deep characters.

My simple review of Sora no Method.

The most redeeming quality Sora no Method offers is the extraordinary art. If you enjoyed the art in Nagi no Asukara, the color scheme and visuals are similar, though NagiAsu does it better in my opinion.

The second most redeeming quality is the ost and voice actors. The music was catchy and beautiful and the vice actors did amazing in their roles.

Now Story and Characters, where the series fell flat on their face.

Story: 4.5

Story was a decent setup but it delivered poorly without answering numerous questions and having too many plot holes to count. It really is a shame because they could've done so much with the set-up.

The character designs are cute and unique but the personalities of these characters are bland and their actions hardly ever make sense or are even logical. Noel was the only decent character even though she was a typical moe blob copy.

I enjoyed this series as a viewer but as a reviewer I can see why it can be disliked.
BUT I don't think it deserves less than a 3 because the series had a lot of positives you cannot deny like the ost, voice actors, art, and character design.

Overall: 6.5

Midori: Shoujo Tsubaki is an old animation about a young girl who has an extremely twisted and sick life but tries to make the best of it, which often makes it worse.

From a critical standpoint can see why people like it and why people hate it.

It all depends on how you want to view it and take its symbolism.

Myself, personally liking disturbing and twisted storytelling thought it was quite average even with its numerous attempts of shocking an audience.

It can be truly depressing and deep if you try to see past the grotesque imagery, poor quality sound and mostly still images.

Story: 5; I ... think the creators did do well in writing a twisted circus like story

Art: 3; The art is gross to say the least, mostly still images with voice actors talking and the characters moths not moving, but that may be an art thing tied also with the time of production.

Sound: 3; static in background and volume is inconsistent.

Character: 4.5; I say the characters did seem different and all had different motives.

Enjoyment: 5; Not for everyone and definitely not for people who have short attention spans because nothing really exciting happens.

Overall: 4.5

Corpse Party is setup like an enjoyable horror flick. The only thing its missing is jump scares, thank god it doesn’t have to rely on those to be scary. Of course the game is favored to the anime adaptations but that’s just because the anime doesn’t follow the game exactly the same and there are fans who didn’t appreciate that. Nevertheless, the anime isn’t bad or worse just a different look at the creepy story about a cursed school. There are so many horror clichés, but it doesn’t make it bad, it’s just… cliché… It’s nice to see it in an anime though, they definitely ... took advantage of the possibilities of animated gore.
Story: 7/10 Interesting story that unraveled and ended with questions answered.
Art/Animation: 6/10 Not anything special, but the effects of gore and creepy expressions were good.
Sound/OST: 7/10 Surprisingly catchy OP.
Characters: 7.5/10 I actually liked a few of the characters and liked their underlying personalities hinting to backstories revealed in the game.
Entertainment Value: 8/10 I loved it and it was easy because it was only 4 episodes.
Overall: 8/10
Would I recommend: Only to people who enjoy ‘classic’ horror
