Before I decided to read this manga, I had skeptical thinking about how come a music can be drawn into a manga? Seeing how high the score in this site and the positive review about it, I finally decided to give it a try and fortunately it's beyond my expectation. is when our main character Miyamoto Dai in his Highschool and the second phase is when he went to tokyo after graduation to reach his dream even further. In the early chapter of the manga, we could see everyday life of Miyamoto Dai as a highschooler. Through all of his hardwork, he met various people who support his dream and with every person he met would led him to made a decision to leave his hometown and become the jazz player in tokyo. After he went to tokyo, he would met another people who support his dream and thus, his journey in tokyo would develop not just his skill at playing sax but as a person growing up.
If we talking about the plot, I would admit that there is nothing special to begin with. It's just a tale about a person who want to reach his dream as in other manga usually made. However, as simple as it is this manga has managed to make me keep on fire seeing how hard the main character work to become the best of him. I myself actually not that familiar with the jazz music itself yet this manga has managed to draw me in to the story. The pacing itself is good, not too dragged and not too rushed, and I could say that there is no useless chapter. Every one of them has their importance to the story
Next, there is the characters. I would say the best trait of Miyamoto Dai is his huge spirit and hardwork to become a person he wanted to be. To be frank, as likeable as he his, Miyamoto Dai still lack of something that could spice up the story because there is no major character development for him in the entire story. Yet, the interesting things is the other characters such as the pianist Sawabe Yukinori and the drummer Tamada Shunji, both of them are got their character development and the person behind their development is none other than Miyamoto Dai himself. Their destined encounter with Miyamoto Dai has led them to be a better person and character. Then, what about the side characters? I would say the side characters are interesting as our main characters. The thing is, this manga shown us the inner dialogue of every side characters like how they feel and think about the main characters performance and how the main characters become somewhat impactful with their life upon their encounter. Not only that, usually the side characters in other manga would be just thrown away after a few chapters or arc yet this manga never done that. Every side characters that linked to the main characters are always pointed out in the manga.
About the art, I would say it's excellent. Of course, some of you would say the character design is plain and not that unique. Yet, the other things such as background and instrument, all of them are very detailed and well-drawn. Especially every time there is jazz performance, the art is really gorgeous and had me goosebumbs every time I see it. In conclusion, the art is very enjoyable.
Overall this manga was great, you don't have to be familiar with jazz to understanding the story becase it's just that simple. Don't hesitate to give it a try and don't set your expectation too high because everyone has their own taste and if you ended up not liking it, it's probably because you're not the target audience or this manga just isn't for you to begin with.

In my opinion, Magi is one of the best manga that deserves applause. Before I started reading the manga, I had watched the anime first and unexpectedly I really liked it. Although the popularity of Magi is much lower than other shounen manga, I personally think that magi have much more originality and an interesting concept than other shounen manga.
What I like most about Magi is the world-building itself. It’s very rarely found in shounen manga which is set in a fantasy world that takes references from the Middle East, China, and medieval Europe. One of the most prominent is the Roman, Chinese, and Abbasid

empires. Apart from that, there are many other medieval kingdoms that are used as references in this manga.
With a setting in a fantasy world with various kingdoms competing with one another, Magi presents political conflicts that are very tense and interesting to follow. In this manga, we are shown how each kingdom competes with each other either through economic competition or military operations.
Like other shounen manga, Magi also has a power system, namely magic and djinn equip. At the beginning of the story, we were told that the world of Magi is a world where people can use magic. In addition, it is also told that in this world there are towers called dungeons in various places. The tower can give power and wealth to anyone who can conquer it. Since the emergence of the dungeon, people have been coming and competing for the power contained in the dungeon.
Previously, I thought that magic would only tell the story of Alibaba and his friends in conquering every dungeon in the world. However, my prediction was wrong. Even the dungeon that has been conquered by Alibaba is just one. The conflict in this manga is much more complex than I thought. In addition to political conflicts, there are other conflicts such as conspiracies carried out by secret organizations in which the organization is responsible for various kinds of conflicts and disasters that occur in the world.
Another aspect that made me love magic is the characters. There are many characters that appear in this manga, and each of them has its own uniqueness and role. Alibaba, the main character is a character who is not so strong in terms of strength but has intelligence that can be superior. The other main character is Aladdin, who is a magician who is much younger than Alibaba. Throughout the story, we will be shown the growth and development of Aladdin as a character. There are still many other characters who are only side characters but have a very big influence on the storyline such as Sinbad, Koen, and Hakuryuu.
My only complaint about this manga is that the final arc feels rushed and dizzying. Too much information, dialogue, and flashbacks that actually made me confused about what happened in this manga. However, thankfully Magi can end up with a pretty good ending.
Overall, I really enjoyed this manga so much. It's unique, original, captivating, and thought-provoking. I recommend this manga to fellow shounen fans who want to try something new

Sand Chronicle is one of the manga that made me can't stop reading when I started. This manga tells about a girl named Ann who returns to her hometown with her mother. After a few days in her hometown, her depressed mother finally disappeared and was found to have committed suicide. Her mother's death had a major impact on Ann's character in the future. long when Ann's father came and asked Ann to live with him in Tokyo so that a long-distance relationship between Ann and Daigo began which would later be faced with many obstacles.
Sand Chronicles, in my opinion, is one of the most realistic manga I've ever read. how they deal with long-distance relationships and the arrival of a third person, and how they deal with their respective traumas are well written and feel real.
In Sand Chronicles, we have 3 characters that are often highlighted. First, there is the protagonist of this story, Ann. Ann is quite an interesting character, we are shown her struggles in making decisions and obstacles in her relationship with Daigo. Her character development is also quite good, she was initially traumatized and afraid of losing her favorite person due to her mother's death in the past, finally managed to move on and keep looking forward, who at first always depended on others, finally able to be independent. The next character is Daigo. Daigo is Ann's childhood friend and first love. Daigo is a kind and loyal man, even when Ann's actions hurt him, he remains firm on his feelings for ann. You could say Daigo is my favorite character in this manga. why? because his characters are very realistic and different from the male leads in other shoujo manga. he's not the typical bad boy or playboy, nor is he a popular guy. just an ordinary boy who is kind and loyal to ann. The next character is Fuji who is the third person in Ann and Daigo's relationship. I hate this person. He is your typical male lead shoujo who is rich, handsome, but has a dark past. You could say that the root of all the problems that occur in this manga comes from Fuji's cowardly and arbitrary actions. Fuji is a coward, he takes the opportunity when Ann and Daigo's relationship is strained.
Overall, I enjoyed this manga. it's frustrating yet I can't stop reading until finished the rest of the manga. I'm so satisfied with the ending, maybe it feels a bit rushed. but it's not a problem anymore because all of the conflicts have been cleared. for anyone who looking for a story with a realistic relationship, then this manga is for you.

When it comes to love, we always wonder if someone that someday will become our boyfriend/girlfriend is suit our type. but as things continue, we realize that love isn't always created because the person we love is our type at all. this manga tells how a relationship can exist despite the person we love isn't our ideal type, and soon realize that love is something more complex than just suiting our type.

The art is excellent that will make you even more comfortable when reading this manga.
Character
This is the aspect I like the most. the character isn't cliche and the pairings are unique. the FL is cute and isn't dumb and the ML is calm yet sweet to her. side characters are interesting and none of them I can hate. they are very likable.
Enjoyment
I'm happy to find this manga and read it. it's enjoyable and wholesome that can make your day even happier.
Overall, I do love this manga. if you're looking for a manga with non-cliche plots and characters. a heartwarming and wholesome story without unnecessary drama. then, this manga is for you.

I don't understand why the score is so much higher than I think it should be. if it's because of the art, yeah I would say the art is far better than I expected and I like it a lot. but the thing is, when I read this manga it feels like nothing. the story itself feel rushed and the conflict isn't interesting at all. it's just about a child who can change her appearance into a grown-up adult, then she meets a typical playboy who becomes interested in her. then, the man turns into an antagonist because he is infected by an insect. like,

what the hell is this coming from.
the world-building and some magic stuff are interesting, but it really doesn't well written and well described. It feels like I'm forced to understand the world-building and ignore the other thing that makes the story more confusing.
so, what about the characters? not good at all. yeah, I meant it. there isn't any character development for the protagonist even though there are many events in this manga that can be placed for her turn point.
In conclusion, I recommend this manga to people who looking for god-tier art. but if you're looking for good stories with a well-written protagonist and interesting conflict. then, this manga isn't for you.
