i'm sorry to hear that, i hope everything heals soon ^^ if you need to talk to me, just feel free to PM me on twitter
yeah, jobs suck, they're pretty frustrating and overwhelming sometimes, but you'll get through it ik it :)

i REALLY still have to start the mono series but i've seen quite a few questionable things from it ^^"
that's actually a pretty smart idea lol, you're the first person i know that has mentioned doing something like that
hopefully you'll feel good almost all the time so you can watch mono every day :D

i completely forgot about seasonal animes ... i got so caught up in watching cardcaptor sakura and playing games that i didn't even notice that it was already july and a bunch of new animes are starting !!!
i already know i'm gonna watch rent-a-girlfriend s2 (even though i didn't like s1...) and call of the night (i'm caught up with the manga)
i took a peek at the other seasonals and i think i'm also gonna go with 'When Will Ayumu Make His Move?,' 'Smile of the Arsnotoria the Animation,' and DEFINITELY Chimimo cus it just looks so cute :)
yeah i kind of get what you mean, i usually force myself to finish the whole thing though just so i can know EVERYTHING that happened haha

lately all i've been watching is card captor sakura. it's a cute magical girl anime, i really enjoy it and the art is so cute!
i also have been reading a LOT of manhwa... like A LOT. seriously, i'm reading like 13!! (i counted and then immediately forgot, maybe it's wrong...)
my ABSOLOUTE FAVORITE out of all of the manhwas that i'm reading is seasons of blossom. it's amazing and i heavily reccomend.

i don't mind long messages at all! in fact i actually really like them lol. the larger the message, the longer the conversation is and i like being able to keep the conversation going

First of all: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎊🎂🎉🍰🥳 I hope you have a great day!

And next: don't worry about the last reply time thing. I haven't really been active on MAL in a while either (and it makes me feel terrible to leave some people's replies hanging around for ages ... :s) Gonna be trying to get back to it more actively. And I hope your school stuff has gone well - when was your summer break btw? Or is it still coming soon?

Some seasonal stuff:
Love is War really had a fantastic finale. I still don't really think it's the best anime out there (but then again, is there really a "best anime"...?), but who cares, I'm happy that this third season has reached such heights. And dang, it's even getting a new anime project some time as well.
Spy x Family was a really solid adaptation too, not all that much to say. Looking forward to the next part later this year.
As for Komi... It was a better season than the first, and I was a big fan of those initial 100+ chapters of the manga, so I think these first two seasons still adapted some really solid slice of life/comedy stuff. But I agree with you about the manga.... why the f did the author think an Among Us arc would be a good idea... :I Did they forget about the 100-friends plan...?
Aharen: A really nice adaptation, considering that the studio isn't really some well known one and the nature of the manga is more slice of life/comedy, rather than anything else. It left out some chapters I would've liked to see animated and the overall visual style was "just average" (not meant in a bad way though), but I really enjoyed it.
Summertime Render is still one of the seasonals I'm really looking forward to seeing new episodes from. It has that nice feeling of tension, interesting characters, setting, etc... And that last episode from today/yesterday (Number 12) was really dang good again.
Tsubaki is werid. I just don't really know what it's trying to be. But I gotta hand it to CloverWorks for animating a ninja-Takagi anime so well, probably has more action than Boruto lol. It's sort of like you said though: "Not that it had things I disliked but not really worth keeping up either." - It's just... fine...
Deaimon was another favorite of mine this season and I really hope it gets a sequel sometime. I loved stuff like Kakushigoto and Usagi Drop, so this was another title that felt similar. Just a calm slice of life really, with not all too much drama. Sadly the manga only has 2 translated volumes so far, otherwise I'd probably read it right away.
I put Onipan on hold relatively early on (since episodes were short and most anime sites would wait to compile them into longer ones). I would have to watch the rest of it to really comment on it, but I think the junior-voice acting performances were really solid. But as an anime overall, I wouldn't deem it to be something to particularly write home about.
I still haven't finished Magia Record (lol).
Shachiku was sadly more annoying to me than it was "cute" - even though the narrator kept commenting on how cute those little ghosts were supposed to be. I wasn't a particular fan of the art style either - on the other hand Project No. 9 also did the Love after World Domination anime this season, which I liked a lot more and where the art style was more like what I was used to by that studio. Would appreciate a sequel for that one.
Paripi Koumei was a refreshing anime. Probably the best opening of the season - which is probably what attracted most people's attention. But the characters and story were just "nice". It was a fun anime and had a nice finale too. I wonder if this would ever get another season too. (The manga did start getting picked up by scanlation groups now tho).
And now for my 100% honest & objectively best anime this season: Machikado Mazoku! I really don't know what it was about this anime, but I was earnestly looking forward to every single episode and each one managed to give me a big smile throughout the entire runtime. It's such a cozy feel-good anime I guess...? If this doesn't get a third season I'll riot! >:(

Aaaaand it's great to see that you're enjoying Monogatari. I do hear the argument often in comments that it's "boring" because it's mainly dialogue and stuff. But I think that's what makes it so interesting. It's not an action anime, and the overall presentation along with the visuals more than make up for that. If you like it that much, I'd recommend some other Shaft anime afterwards (since most of them are very unique - not only visually). I think it's hard to rank the characters too, I love all (most) of them and there's only a few where I would say I liked them less than others (mainly due to low amounts of screentime). Feel free to update me on your thoughts as you keep watching. The openings and endings are all like 10/10s, both visually and musically, but I love how the openings match the current arc and are sung by the character they're about.
Dw, watching Kizu after Bake is a good choice too ofc - it is the original LN order (which I would really recommend reading sometime if you are interested enough). But I just checked - you haven't watched them yet...? :0

And don't worry, I wouldn't ever spoil Monogatari to anyone. Who would even do that? We can discuss favorite arcs/characters whenever you're done or feel like it, so just lemme know!

Oh and lastly: any summer seasonals you're looking forward to? I've got a bunch, but would like to know your interest-list first! :)
One thing I would recommend right away: Shaft's adaptation of RWBY. I haven't watched the original RWBY, but the premiere of those first three episodes recently was awesome and really fun. I read some of the comments comparing the two, but so far I think it's absolutely fine. Lemme know what you think!
I've listened to this one song from it way too many times already (Void_Chords rules):

Tamako Market including Dera have indeed grown on me! Pretty sure it'll end up my third favorite KyoAni anime after Clannad and K-On. And yeah you're right, it really is the encapsulation of Iyashikei.

Ahh shit, this is like the third time I'm misinterpreting something by you, isn't it? Completely my fault tho.

Shinbou is involved in most Shaft anime, yeah, although a lot of the time he is credited as "Chief Director", implying that he has more of an overseer role instead of being the real/main director. I even heard someone say that he didn't direct a single anime at Shaft, but I highly doubt that.

Yeah, Kaiki is a very interesting character, although I have to say I didn't really understand his whole idea with the fake being more real than the real thing, that doesn't make any sense to me.

It's good, there is this bird character who was quite annoying in the first episode, but it's better in episodes 2-3. Other than that just a nice KyoAni iyashikei. What I especially like about it is that everything seems quite natural so far, I watched Haruhi recently and it felt kinda forced sometimes, not sure how to describe it, I've also had this feeling with some other KyoAni shows. Potential for 8/10 definitely.

Oh btw I saw your comment on Akiyuki Shinbou's page from like two weeks ago. In case you haven't looked it up yet, he does not own Shaft, he just got hired by an investor in 2004 to bring a recognizable style to the studio. There are lots of other directors though (a lot of which he influenced) that bring their own ideas to the table in every Shaft anime. Shinbou's style is basically just a guideline. If you're ever interested in seeing pure Shinbou, watch The SoulTaker.

And nice to see you liked Bakemonogatari, I gotta rewatch it one of these days, it's been two years.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
