Hi! My name is Susan. I'm 22 years old (Viva 1985!), I have dark brown, punkish shoulder-length hair and grey eyes which lurk behind a pair of nifty black & red glasses. I stand at about 5'10" or 180 cm tall and I have a robust, curvaceous body-type that I am proud of! Currently I'm a college student studying creative writing, English literature and French, but my true occupation is...
EVIL INCARNATE
MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!
*cough cough*
Anyways, I enjoy anime and occasionally manga. In 2007 I took a long break from anime but I've been back recently and having fun! I also LOVE a lot of music from Japan, and I'm an Asian Drama Addict!
But my true passions are offbeat American comic books and prose fiction (novels & short stories in a variety of genres). I hope to write both someday, as well as film and television, as my profession!
When it comes to my preferred genres I like to say that mystery and horror both top my list, but when it comes to dramas that's not usually the case. I have seen many more romance and comedies than anything else! I'm fairly open, I think, and it's more a matter of what I won't watch, because that's a much shorter list.
Still, I can't resist a really good mystery or something really frightening. I have the most fun when I'm watching stuff like that!

Fear me, foul mortal! Bow before my greatness! Also, I am made of awesome. XD
Please visit me here:
The Comic Haven is a great board for general discussions. Primarily comic books, but also movies, TV, Anime, and a little bit of everything else. We're a really open and fun community. We just went through a major reboot and now everything is shiny and new too, so check it out!
I can't thank you enough, but please, no need to rush. And no, I don't think you're weird. Being open-minded and absorbing as much as you can, especially from different cultures, is a necessity for any good writer.
Kaneshiro was hilarious throughout the film, notably when he was filming his dad. I liked how all that built up to that scene you mentioned, which made it very moving. I'll have to rewatch that one again. :)
About Happy Together, I know I was talking about being open-minded, but damn it, can't a man have his limits! XD
I'll check it out ... maybe, and ONLY maybe because you're trying to help me out. XD Again, thanks. If you need anything, feel free to ask! :)
Yes, with 2046 being the first one I've seen and my absolute favorite. Funny thing is I saw a trailer of the film expecting a cyberpunk thriller. You could say it was a very pleasant surprise. I was very drawn to the visual style, music, and all the same things that you've mentioned. *holds back ranting* :)
Fallen Angels is great too! I think Takeshi Kaneshiro stole the show! I've watched the same ones that you've seen, except As Tears Go By, Happy Together (I don't know if I'll ever be ready for that one), and My Blueberry Nights. It's rare for me to see a WKW and anime fan, plus one aspiring to write professionally.
Although I don't normally watch romantic dramas, I'm willing to try something different. Can you make a recommendation for me, anime or live-action? *puppy eyes*
I just had the most wonderful day EVER! :D and I wanted to tell someone about it (because, seemingly, everyone I know is offline T_T )
I spent the whole day with my favourite writer, who lives in Australia and came to visit my country for 2 days, and talked a lot to her. She's Juliet Marillier! :D
